When Alan McGee had his breakdown in '94 he said Liam was the only person in the business to care enough to visit him & see how he was doing. He talked about Liam's emotional intelligence & how he's always been misunderstood. Btw Liam's song Misunderstood is another great one to check out.
Now u guys see why we love them so much. It’s not just the tunes, it the whole story. The way it all came together. Sort of “accidental rock stars”. They are the greatest not just bc of the music but the way they went about it. They just didn’t take themselves too seriously.
Spencer & Daniel I watched both of the documentaries, this and the Knebworth one, both made me feel very emotional about them and that time, Oasis are very important to many people I will always love how they make me feel and how important they were at that time for me.
@Peter Winter Well said my man. That’s pretty much how I feel about Oasis. I find it very sad the two brothers that brought joy to millions upon millions dont even talk any more. Even if they didn’t put oasis back together I would like it if they made up. I think its just noel holding the grudge but at the same time Liam keeps saying stuff that doesn’t help the situation.
boneheaded wasn’t kicked out, he left along with quigsy due to noel implementing a no drugs or alcohol in the studio policy during the recording of standing on the shoulder of giants
My drummer buddy was at the King Tut's gig. He'd got word that Alan McGhee was going to be there, so he placed his bands demo cassettes and flyers on each table early on. After Oasis turned up - unannounced and not on the bill - and played their set, he picked up every tape & flyer, put them back in his bag, went home and quit the band.
King Tuts in Glasgow is Glasgows version of the Cavern Club. Anybody that is worth knowing has played there. That night they got signed, the stars just aligned. I think a similar thing happened with Nirvana. They were playing to a room of 50 or so people, with half of them talking by the bar. They just got lucky that a manager from a record label, that was supposed to be at another gig, had his original gig cancelled an hour or two before and ended up being one of the 50 people in that room. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.
I don’t think that what Liam describes about standing absolutely still on the stage has anything to do with it being a ”power move”. I think he is just describing the rare feeling of control for someone with impulsivity and attention problems like him (and myself and many others). Liam is basically just describing ADHD (which he has later also explicitly mentioned and admitted that he most probably has): One of the very few situations where a lot of people with ADHD experience some kind of inner calm and feel somewhat in control of their attention and impulses is in situations like e.g. when you are standing on the stage with the music roaring and the crowd jumping up and down singing along, i.e. a situation where there is something external that actually manages to drown out a substantial part of the (usually mostly innate) constant stream of ”ADHD noise” inside your head (this is also why e.g. listening to white noise help a lot of people with ADHD, as has been confirmed by recent research that also suggests several neuroscientific explanations for why this is the case). And this is one of those very rare experience that can (in many cases) make someone with ADHD feel in control of his/her attention and impluses, which is generally such a rare and amazing feeling for (unmedicated) people with ADHD that they would commonly it as the best feeling in the world. This is also kind of what ADHD medication does, and it is also the reason why undiagnosed people with ADHD often self-medicate with amphetamine and other similar drugs.
im an massive oasis fan got here from my youtube oasis page thanks guys i have watched this film a million odd times never gets old i live in scotland and have followed oasis since 90s
Managed to see Liam live in Knebworth last June, safe to say was the best weekend of my life, I’d definitely have a look at some of the live videos of that weekend, absolutely unbelievable.
🙌FINALLY🙌 I’ve seen Supersonic so many times but was happy to sit an watch you lads enjoy it. Now…have to do Liam’s As It Was video..peeks into the separation and the rise of LG as solo..amazing make you appreciate how important Liam was to Oasis’s success ✌🏼💙 Get on it. Great video
I remember the moment back in the 90s I got in my car to go on a fairly long journey and put What’s The Story Morning Glory on for the first time…..I did not want to reach my destination, I could have sat there and listened forever. Awesome tunes! 🙌.
Great reaction lads. I'm from Glasgow and have been to King Tuts 100's of times in the 00's. Loved Oasis at school, love them more today. Keep up the good work 👏
The Boardwalk Nightclub is situated on Peter Street, Manchester. The building is still standing, but is no longer used as a Nightclub. It closed its doors in 1999.
I played at The Boardwalk, Manchester, in a band called The Stark many moons ago, early nineties. We obviously didn’t make it but loved those days anyway, who knew what might happen and what the future might hold. Keep up the great work chaps, loving your work 👍🏽🙋🏽♀️
The sweetest part of this is at the end when you see them walking on stage at knebworth and the band , especially bonehead and gigs and juts walking around obviously blown away by what they had achieved, they were the same as the crowd. That’s why I love oasis they are one of the few bands that could do a gig for 125000 people then meet you later in the pub for a drink
My dad is the biggest oasis fan, went to the original knebworth in 96, went to knebworth 2 , and has seen Liam, Noel and oasis on multiple occasions, we’ve just got tickets to go and see oasis next year I’m so excited
I’m 31 and have vague memories of life without being addicted to the internet. - Noel’s right, everything felt like it meant more back then. When I go to concerts now, everyone’s constantly on there fucking phone posing for a stupid little photo. No one gets lost in the music nowadays, they just want Likes on Facebook.
I’m not sure if it’s still up and running but Craig Gill who was the drummer in Inspiral Carpets used to run music tours in Manchester until he sadly passed away a few years ago. It was called Manchester Music Tours and I think one of his family members may have taken over the day to day running of the business after his passing. Might be worth a look if you are planning a visit to Manchester in the future and would like to explore its musical heritage
It's a young man's game. You can't sprint forever, your body won't allow it. Oasis were on a sprint. What oasis really want is to see a new band that catches an entire generation, one that makes people feel, one that captures the energy of the generation. Seeing oasis perform again would be good, but they are not spring chickens. Where is the new young bands. It's all computer ai generated manufactured tedium now. We need a band that gets everyone emotionaly connected. It's like a religion.
Hey my name is Elsa.. I worked for a womans clothing company called Oasis.. and I live in Kings cross which is the clock tower in the background where the vedio supersonic was recorded. I'm sad to report the building they are on top for the music video, is currently being torn down it will be gone soon. 😢 ....... just wanted to share that with you. I know you love these guys
Another interesting oasis documentary is ‚Oasis - VH 1 behind the music‘ They have some different stories which didnt include in ‚supersonic‘ plus the be here now era too
Just watched this and your trainspotting reaction on patreon (never making it to UA-cam🤣) both was great reactions...Absolutely amazing reaction to such an amazing story /Documentary 👏...Bring on As it was and eventually Knebworth 22 🔥🔥🔥..The Stone Roses: Made of Stone is also a great watch 👍🏻
Yes! This documentary is one of the greatest things I've ever watched. I wish you guys just included the "fuckin in the bushes" scene in your reaction.
The “be here now” documentary (full length available on UA-cam) is also great it follows on from knebworth and covers the aftermath from knebworth to after the be here now release and covers bonehead leaving (he basically wasn’t enjoying it anymore)
If we think about Columbia, a riff taken from a rave song (Tortuga by Axe Corner) and lyrics from Noel's heart: "There we were, now here we are. All is confusion, nothing's the same to me I can't tell you the way I feel Because the way I feel is, oh, so new to me", As you said, troo fast too soon~ Mad fer it till I am no more.
In 1994 in the uk there was no internet, Oasis were an underground band for people in the know until they appeared on tv. I saw them in Portsmouth at The Wedgewood rooms in 1994 and they were amazing, they became big because they were amazing.
You should watch James Hargreaves Guitar you tube video on the band The Real People from Liverpool who helped Oasis massively in the early days. The song Columbia for instance was mainly written by them and Liam - but Noel took the credit and totally shafted them and Liam on other tracks on Definitely Maybe.
Check out James Hargreaves Guitar channel on UA-cam, definitely one of the best channels for Oasis stuff but he doesn't only cover Oasis. He takes a big deep dive into all things Oasis he also recently interviewed Tom Meighan from Kasabian (great interview). Definitely a channel worth taking a deep dive into especially his video on What's The Story Morning Glory Conspiracy. Noel has had a stick up his arse for years definitely the money and the fame got to him but he got worse when he stopped taking drugs and married Sara Macdonald.
Totally agree, I listened back to that album I had heard hundreds of times and it felt very different having that perspective. True or not, it does add an extra dimension to it.
Liam and Noel are something incredible, I have two sons and 4 brothers and none of us have done anything this incredible. Noel’s writing and Liam’s vocals together took over the world and what made them broke them too: I was lucky enough to see them at Wembley 2009 just days before they split for good. Incredible band and seeing them supported by kasabian, Already a well established band not an up and coming band like most support acts. It was biblical
Alot of people say liams the nob head but Tony mc carrol, bonehead,Andy Bell the real people who noel stole songs off and many others still talk highly of liam but they won't even talk to noel.

watch definitely maybe dvd. They talk about it. Noel played the song & bonehead said "you can't do that, you can't rip off t-rex" and noel said no one cares no one is gonna hear it. It was written before they had a record deal and were still playing gigs in front of no one.
Been to see Oasis once at Wembley in the summer of 2009 just before they broke up, soooo glad i got to see them together just before they split. I'm hoping they will come back as band in years to come and make a fortune! Best band ever. "oh im missing my bird" hahaha fuck that, see ya! lol
I don`t think it exists anything that i love more than American Oasis Fans,Especially From San Fransisco or The Southern Part Of The United States,Nashville and Texas in particular!
They could sell out Knebworth for a month if they got together for one last epic tour.. They have a whole new generation of fans now too. They'd smash concert attendance records out of the park.
As much as they want to say it was Liam's voice giving out that was an issue, it always coincided with him being angry about something or in conflict with someone. Attitude problems, drugs and alcohol were the big issue.
Had to laugh my head off at the Phil Collins & Sting comment (i'd forgptten that from watching when this doc came out). I actually love Sting & have to appreciate Phil Collins too but that was just SUCH an Oasis comment 😆
The Oasis story is such a beautiful one. The "spark" was finally 'lit' once Noel came and joined. That's when Amsterdam arrests and court cases started - and when 'Oasis' began. Thank you, Noel & Liam.
Who ever is the best musician or songwriter in the world? I feel like that's so subjective and ever changing. All you can say is among the best, and the most loved in their genre maybe. The other thing I always think is what a precarious and dangerous thing fame as a musician or a band is, what with the huge demands on time and physical energy to try to keep up with the ticket sales and play all the events that managers and record labels and whoever else would want you to play, and what an abnormal life that is, for young people who maybe aren't too stable and have risky habits. I feel like they need a union, and a medical service and chaplains and all of that, because otherwise it's just them and their friends and family against this giant commercial machine that chews people up and spits them out.
The best was probably prince , this is based on sheer musical ability , im the space of 11 years he made 12 albums , when i say made i mean wrote all the music and lyrics , played and recorded all the instruments and did all the mixing and mastering too . There isnt many people that can do all aspects to high level and on top he was a performer too
Cnt think of many bands who go on tv shows play lot of b sides they goes to show they had so many great songs cnt think of other bands Play b sides on tv shows most bands Play the singles they released
Fantastic documentary from Oasis, we'll never see a band again who went in 2 years from total unknowns to playing 2 nights at Knebworth England to 250,000 fans, my brother was on holiday in the US when they toured and as shown in the film they were completely wasted on stage!! only 5 dollars to get in and he loved it!! Noel is constantly asked to reform and Liam would be "mad for it" but it won't happen, Liam has said some pretty bad things about Noel's wife and kids, love you guys!! 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Liam was an absolute tool. I went to one of their concerts. Liam had been in court all day for headbutting a 19yr old fan who asked for a photo. So half way through the show, he swears, says goodnight and walks off stage. Show over. He played just the minimum required to make sure they didn't have to refund money. Then Noel sang one song and that was it.
When Alan McGee had his breakdown in '94 he said Liam was the only person in the business to care enough to visit him & see how he was doing. He talked about Liam's emotional intelligence & how he's always been misunderstood. Btw Liam's song Misunderstood is another great one to check out.
Omg I’ve never been more excited for a UA-cam video in my life let’s go lads!
One of the greatest bands ever! Sadly underappreciated in America but many here in America still love them.
Oasis did thank Sister Lovers writing a song called "My Sister Lover" which was a b-side on "Stand By Me" single in 1997
Now u guys see why we love them so much. It’s not just the tunes, it the whole story. The way it all came together. Sort of “accidental rock stars”. They are the greatest not just bc of the music but the way they went about it. They just didn’t take themselves too seriously.
as if their music was not good enough for them to be like that
they went their only in 2years is also crazy
Spencer & Daniel I watched both of the documentaries, this and the Knebworth one, both made me feel very emotional about them and that time, Oasis are very important to many people I will always love how they make me feel and how important they were at that time for me.

One of the best documentaries of all time.

If you liked 47:45 you should probably react to champagne supernova vocals only.
Should also watch, dont believe the truth documentary
Fantastic documentary from Oasis, we'll never see a band again who went in 2 years from total unknowns to playing 2 nights at Knebworth England to 250,000 fans, my brother was on holiday in the US when they toured and as shown in the film they were completely wasted on stage!! only 5 dollars to get in and he loved it!! Noel is constantly asked to reform and Liam would be "mad for it" but it won't happen, Liam has said some pretty bad things about Noel's wife and kids, love you guys!! 🇬🇧🇺🇲
I remember phoning the News of the World hotline to listen to it.
I was there, Knebworth 96 🤩💖
33:46 made me cry not gunna lie

😱😱😱😱FINALLY!!!!!!!! OMG!!!
Brilliant lads…fantastic!!! 😎😎👍👌
its not crazy if you take into account how many bands in the uk during the 60's 70' 80' and 90's etc was coming out it was an explosion
i tried to text you but it did not recognise your address
Sad song by Liam Gallagher unplugged too👍
Put Oasis on the juke box in any pub in in uk and everyone will burst into song.
Cry more?
been looking forward to this, i feel you skipped a fair bit in editing though, more like your idiot abroad reactions pleas, play full thing
