- I got an early entry, before the location opened on May 1 2021, to surf this amazing CityWave feature. For all the details on my experience be sure to check out the story I wrote for GearJunkie. Cheers...

As a surfer that looks really fun ngl.
3:55 "- I don't have to wait for waves all the time-"
"nick's drowning"
"this ain't about him"
🤣
lmao
He is German. Local surfer from Munich Eisbach's ( the guy crushing it I mean)
Looks perfect
Looks so fun. Is there a way to create a standing barrel style wave?? That would be even more sick.
Lookup barrel flowrider
so cool
It'll be #2 soon; #1 is opening up on Oahu, called The Line Up, on March 25, 2023.
I want to try that so bad
Miami needs one asap!!!!!!
Say it like this: Sheh-lan It's not a hard Ch sound.
Do you ever land on the foam bottoms like a surf rider? Or is it deep enough that when you fall it’s only into water?
Water is moving very fast, so it's pretty hard to hit the hard structure that makes the wave itself. For sure you can and do hit the bottom behind the wave as the current washes you up onto the shallower ground.
@@ExploringElements thanks. Appreciate the response!
Such a chill video, thx an bigups from germany! One question: You showed how to get into the Wave from the switch position/ side. Unfortunately you only showed the end of getting in switch. How does the whole process work, i cant find nothing on the internet on how to get in switch and i would love to see/know how it works. Thx! :)
Thanks for the kind words. Not sure exactly what you mean, but; you can get in on either side of the pool/wave, and stand which ever way you'd like on the board. You just use the wall as support and then find your balance on the board, then let go and surf it up. Or, you can just jump onto the board and surf, but that is above my current skill level.
@@ExploringElements Thx for the quick reply, really appreciate it:) What i mean is the scene in your video @2:46. Not quite shure how to balance the board while im still outside of the water. Im also a regular surfer and so far only got into a standing wave from the other side (facing the water) where i can easily sit on the wall with the board under my feet while its already in the water. But i guess ill just have to try and it will work out :D
@@elgonzo16 yep, you pretty much set the board on the water and hold it down with your feet as you put your weight on the wall, standing vs sitting. Best of luck! Soooo fun.
What kind of boards would I be looking for to ride this kind of wave? Could you be a little detailed so I can look for him online? Thanks!
Great question, without a great answer. The key to this kind of wave is that nearly any mid-length to short board will work. It all depends on your skills and style. They offer some soft boards, and soon some composite short boards, to use while there. I'd suggest trying a few and watching others that ride there. I was on a wake surf style super short and thin board, which was fun but not as fast as the beach break style short board the wave engineer was riding in this video. My suggestion is that there is a TON to learn on any style board on this amazing wave, so just go and enjoy and find your style before buying anything.
@@ExploringElements Sounds good! Thank you!!
@@chrispeterson6630 Oh boy dont listen to what he says please. All that is just sizzle with no steak. Heres an answer for you: Find out what your average board volume is, there are calculators available online. Once you figure that out you can make your board any length, width, thickness as long as it falls within those volume parameters. To take it one step further, go look up big shapers and see what their small wave shortboards are shaped like. Most of them have flatter rocker, single to no concave, twin/quad setup, fatter nose, etc. Also the boards they have at the wave pool are crap; foam rails with soft, small twin fins, really poor response meant more for durability.
@@s13shaka I will do my research Thanks for the advice!!
see ya soon
He looks like Teddy McDonald 😂 ( Snowfall )
Can it fit a kayak?
Yes a kayak would work on the wave. The issue is the hole and shallowness behind it. The bigger issue, and why they won't allow kayaks, is that the paddle and the kayak would mess up the foam on the edges and bottom of the wave.
How much power does it require ?
I don't remember specifics, but a LOT! The reason it is at this location, and the biggest in the world, is because of the insanely inexpensive power from the local dams.
Any chance we could see this with actual surfers.
You didn't see the guy at 4:30 ?
How much it costs time?
Currently $40 per 45min session, on included in the waterpark price for some sessions in the summer.
OMG I want it 🤲🤲🤲🤲🤲
Where is this pls tell me
Chelan, Washington, USA www.lakesidesurf.com/surf

Any idea how much one of these costs?
Millions, but not sure exactly. Just reach out to CityWave through their website. They have them all over the globe. The real expense is operating costs though, especially electricity for the pumps and water heaters.
@@ExploringElements thank you appreciate it. I’ll do that.
Very nice. how much does an investment like this cost? I want to do one in Brazil. Success, congratulations, to you.
And... there is no sharks
It's just not the same without the sharks.....maybe it's just me.
(opens wallet)
Not 1% of sun ☀️ there
Chilean not chillian :) lol
Hire a camera person and get out of your own shots. You're killing the vibe. thnx.
What lol? He went to the place and made the video. He's making the vibe, there would've been no vibe to kill if he didn't.
