      Millions, but not sure exactly. Just reach out to CityWave through their website. They have them all over the globe. The real expense is operating costs though, especially electricity for the pumps and water heaters.

    Such a chill video, thx an bigups from germany! One question: You showed how to get into the Wave from the switch position/ side. Unfortunately you only showed the end of getting in switch. How does the whole process work, i cant find nothing on the internet on how to get in switch and i would love to see/know how it works. Thx! :)

      @ExploringElements Рік тому

      Thanks for the kind words. Not sure exactly what you mean, but; you can get in on either side of the pool/wave, and stand which ever way you'd like on the board. You just use the wall as support and then find your balance on the board, then let go and surf it up. Or, you can just jump onto the board and surf, but that is above my current skill level.

      @@ExploringElements Thx for the quick reply, really appreciate it:) What i mean is the scene in your video @2:46. Not quite shure how to balance the board while im still outside of the water. Im also a regular surfer and so far only got into a standing wave from the other side (facing the water) where i can easily sit on the wall with the board under my feet while its already in the water. But i guess ill just have to try and it will work out :D

      @ExploringElements Рік тому

      @@elgonzo16 yep, you pretty much set the board on the water and hold it down with your feet as you put your weight on the wall, standing vs sitting. Best of luck! Soooo fun.

    • @ExploringElements
      @ExploringElements Рік тому

      Water is moving very fast, so it's pretty hard to hit the hard structure that makes the wave itself. For sure you can and do hit the bottom behind the wave as the current washes you up onto the shallower ground.

    Honest review of the wave from someone who lives in Chelan county but has surfed for over 17 years all across the USA, Central America, PR; until they change how they schedule the sessions its a pass and a waste of money for anyone that legitimately surfs. They basically keep the wave at its lowest or near lowest flow because there is always one beginner in every session (plenty of people walk up during the day and sign their kids up, Slidewaters is very busy in the Summer its in a tourist area, and it was a Tuesday) so at that level of 75-80% its basically a glorified flowrider. Because there are beginners always they 'have to keep it at its lowest flow so levels of all experience can enjoy' and they wont make it bigger. The wave has to be at 100% flow if you want to surf it on a shortboard. It is impossible though to guess or luck into a session where there wont be a beginner thus you wont ever get to ride it at the proper size needed and shown in the video above. I was on a 5'7" and that was too big for the lower flow, you have to be on a tiny potato chip twin if you want to do anything when its small, dont bother with a thruster either. At that point though its just boring hot dog surfing and you'll seriously be laughing because between the rich lake kids who can afford season passes and tiny wave cornball surfing happening it feels like youre watching Rick at the Arizona wave pool in the movie North Shore. If they eventually change it to offer different skill level sessions, it could be worth it then, until then you're better off saving the money spent on travel to go actually surfing.

  • @chrispeterson6630
    @chrispeterson6630 3 роки тому

    What kind of boards would I be looking for to ride this kind of wave? Could you be a little detailed so I can look for him online? Thanks!

    • @ExploringElements
      @ExploringElements 3 роки тому

      Great question, without a great answer. The key to this kind of wave is that nearly any mid-length to short board will work. It all depends on your skills and style. They offer some soft boards, and soon some composite short boards, to use while there. I'd suggest trying a few and watching others that ride there. I was on a wake surf style super short and thin board, which was fun but not as fast as the beach break style short board the wave engineer was riding in this video. My suggestion is that there is a TON to learn on any style board on this amazing wave, so just go and enjoy and find your style before buying anything.

    • @s13shaka
      @s13shaka 3 роки тому

      @@chrispeterson6630 Oh boy dont listen to what he says please. All that is just sizzle with no steak. Heres an answer for you: Find out what your average board volume is, there are calculators available online. Once you figure that out you can make your board any length, width, thickness as long as it falls within those volume parameters. To take it one step further, go look up big shapers and see what their small wave shortboards are shaped like. Most of them have flatter rocker, single to no concave, twin/quad setup, fatter nose, etc. Also the boards they have at the wave pool are crap; foam rails with soft, small twin fins, really poor response meant more for durability.

    Can it fit a kayak?

    • @ExploringElements
      @ExploringElements 3 роки тому

      Yes a kayak would work on the wave. The issue is the hole and shallowness behind it. The bigger issue, and why they won't allow kayaks, is that the paddle and the kayak would mess up the foam on the edges and bottom of the wave.

      The 3" lift is the main increase in ground clearance. This bumper for sure improves the departure angle quite a bit over stock, and is much higher right behind the rear wheels, which is important when going over rocks and obstacles.
