Excellent video, very well explained and great diagnosis. A very honest appraisal of all the issues, replacing exactly what was necessary carrying out a very good repair of the turbo issue, saving the customer unnecessary expense. The customer is lucky to have a mechanic like you. 👍🙂
Brillaint video ! My 2014 Mazda CX-5 had many of the faults you've found on this one (incl. the first stage turbo flap valve fell apart twice - got a specialist Turbo repairer to make sure it didnt come off again). Also, my inlet manilfold was massively carboned up, 101K miles - I saw the pictures & the ports were about 1/3rd the size they should have been. All good now
My Mazda cx5 jerks highly at above 100 km but at low speed when you try to accelerate. And will show stop engine light and the red triangle. Please help
Hi Alan, thanks for doing such a fine job on my Mazda. I've done approximately 600 miles this week and it's driving perfectly, pulling nice through the gears and no more dreaded lights! I would like to have seen the camera going in the manifold so I could see how clean it was. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Mike that’s great news thanks for the feedback much appreciated 👍 sorry about not showing the inside of the manifold but it’s all good in there 👍
Great work. The worst engine I have ever had is a mazda sky activ 2.2 diesel. I will never own a diesel car again. The dpf is a con all consumers need to be warned off of. A good delete and remap are in order if you want your car to see anything over 150K miles. These are not for in town driving at all. I have a beautiful red 2013 Mazda 6 estate that is an absolute heap of crap. The turbo has been replaced twice due to a failed bolt inside that caused the flap to fail and is a terrible design. The dpf should never be cleaned from the tank or flushing from the engine side back, remove it and pouring a bottle of wynn's in it and let it sit for 8 hours then wash it out. £4800 pounds spent over 2 years and that is not even bringing up the flawed scbs system that has a constant warning on from a fogged sensor that cannot be replaced. Best bet , just get a petrol. I have a back up car for when our daily drivers are in the garage and it really is just a 2006 civic banger that has been flawless. I did it wrong, the banger has been bullet proof and should have just been my daily the whole time.
Yes the newer cars that are out there now are not fit for purpose it’s shocking how bad they all are now and yes I agreed with you petrol is the way to go my wife has a 15 VW Tiguan and I haven’t had to do anything to it only service great car
(P0299) That Turbo is a huge problem for Mazda and they will mostly not admit it. It's not a Mazda Turbo though so it might be in more car brands. I had my wastegate flap fall of like that, go inside the Turbo and wreck havoc on the blades (on the smaller Turbo) and i needed a new Turbo. I'm surprised yours didn't loose more power with the blades like that, because mine were the same. But good news that its possible to weld and find the broken part. My Mazda dealer said the part would end there in the Intercooler. I asked if they would look for it when the put a new turbo in, but got some weird answers. I was so pissed of at the dealer i said i want the "broken" Turbo, you are not keeping it to sell it or fix it.
Yes luckily that turbo survived but like your one I have had to replace the turbo on other Mazda’s when that flap broke off important to find the broken parts of the turbo and get them out so not to cause more damage
I need help with my Mazda 6 2013 pls. DPF has been removed and cleaned but it keeps saying sooth accumulation in DPF is too high. How can I get you to help
hello, I want some advice, I have a mazda cx5 2013 and I have problems with the turbine, it runs in lag between "1300-2000"rpm and sometimes it doesn't run at all and I get the error "P2262" (turbo charger pressure not detected Mechanical). I specify that I changed that flap 500 600 miles ago , I think it is not from Actuator? thank you.
Hi all, has anyone been able to fix this P2262 issue in Mazda 6 diesel? changed the exhaust pressure sensor but, again engine inspection lights turned on. Low acceleration on the motor way. Any advise please ?
Check that trap door on the turbo very common for breaking off also check both turbos for wear they can suffer from lack of oil because of the oil strainer in the sump blocking and that usually happens when injector washer’s fail long list of issues with the 2.2 skyactive
I have almost similar issue with my mazda6 as well, turbocharger pressure not detected and oil pressure too low warning. Can you please advise on what to do? Thank you
You got to drop the sump and check the oil strainer more than likely you will also need a exhaust cam shaft and injector washers and check that turbo these Mazda’s are a lot of work
mine is doing the same, but the computer box gets a bit hot when these lihgts appear, cld that be bcoz of these things or may be the computer box has the problem too?
Lots and lots of problems with these Mazda’s could be anything but the pipe going to the exhaust pressure sensor gets blocked with carbon I would check that first
Hi @pulkitsharma9916, please can you confirm if you were able to resolve the P2262 code on your Mazda. I have been going through the same issue with loss of power as well. I changed the sensor and only to for the code to come up again after a few miles.
@@pulkitsharma9916There is now a modified exhaust pressure sensor available (metal not plastic) Mazda recommend changing this and then having a software update if needed.

DoF shows good number on vcds. oWhat could be the problem????
Hello I have got the repair parts for it off eBay. Does this mean it will take a couple of hours to remove the whole turbo to fix the wastegate? And the flap is just secured by a nut with the repair kit, what if the bolt falls again, I mean is it still possible? Thanks.

Very interesting and informative liked the work around on the exh cam replacement and brilliant home made tool to slide the cam gear back.
Thanks Kevin yes it’s a good way to change the cam shaft saves you a lot of time
