After my hubby passed away last year, I've so been missing our braais very much. I live on my own in the West Coast now (Langebaan), and decided to learn how to braai myself. Never had to, because the man of the house loved braaing and I loved eating whatever he braaied. After doing research on how to braai from scratch, I found your channel, and I am so grateful. Great to watch, nothing artificial to your channel, and I'm braaing up a storm! A few more tries on my own, then I'm going to start inviting friends over to dine around a large table, and make it a regular occasion. Tell your wife she's doing a stellar job recording your vlogs :-) 5 stars.
Hi Sanet, thank you for sharing your story with us. Firstly sorry for your loss. Love that part of the world so much. I am so happy that you enjoy our videos and that you can use all the info we share. Glad that we can help. Thank you for the 5 stars too. Stay safe hey and pop in anytime.

May God bless you..be strong all will be well.

Hi Louise here is the recipe for the video you watched Cooking time :- 2 1/2Hrs slow and low (simmering). I brown my Oxtail meat pieces over the coals before I braise them in the pot. The onions gets braised and browned first then I add the oxtail meat. I then turn the heat down adding the red wine (halve a bottle for the pot and other halve for the master behind the pot). After about an Hour and a halve I start adding the veggies. Starting with the longest cooking, the potatoes, carrots and the corn. I might add about 1.5 Liter of water now. 25 min later I add the Patty pans and the Brussel sprouts. about 15 min later I add the res of the Veggies giving it another 20 min max or until desired softness is reached on the Veggies. 3 min before removing the pot I add the oxtail powder (Soup) and maybe a Knorr stock cube or 2. Serve while hot and try to share the food!!! Sauce ingredients : Red wine. Spices:-Garlic, Mixed herbs (your choice), Paprika, Cayenne pepper, Salt & Pepper to taste & mustard powder. Hope that helps. 🔥🔥
