Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Khufiya' & how Rabinder Singh spy scandal exposed R&AW's ugly sides

- Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Khufiya' has let many Indians sleep well at night, knowing that traitors in RAW are being dealt with as traitors should be. The real-world story is a lot grimmer than the real world story, though, involving egos, incompetence and lost opportunities. The worse news: Even though films about RAW are getting ever more juicy, the organisation itself is struggling with the demands of a changing world. Watch this video by Praveen Swami to know more.

0:43: 🎥 The headquarters of the Research and Analysis Wing in New Delhi is described as a low-budget office block that lacks light and air.
4:01: 🕵️ Investigation reveals that the suspected spy, Rabinder, operated from his home and used an encrypted fax machine to send gathered material.
8:05: 🕵️ Foreign intelligence services were attempting to penetrate RAW, as evidenced by the arrest of former Indian Police Service Officer KV uni Krishna in 1987.
10:56: 🕵️ Paul is believed to have passed on classified documents to a CIA operative, and his escape from Delhi was discovered by Ros Katmandu spies.
14:37: 💡 The video discusses the need for the Indian Police Service (IPS) to provide more support to the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in developing long-term linguistic and area skills.
This was exceptional. Mr Swamy has redeemed himself. I had been feeling off late that opinions were trumping information in his last few videos... The production value seems to have gone up as well..Kudos to the print..
❤
Finding people with good morals is hard to find these days.
Many even sell their parents for few bucks unfortunately
High chances R&AW is still compromised by richer more experienced Intel agencies like CIA,FSB, MSS. it's always a cat and mouse game.
This episode was exceptional...more of such archival content is anticipated.
An excellent report in which the common man should understand our security...
I like this new format...the music adds an interesting layer to the story.
Yeah.. The God Father was playing in my mind
Superb Praveen Swami just superb, your forensic expert views are making watching your episode compulsive and insightful, thanks and much appreciated
Some where good points right at the very end. Intelligence tradecraft is going to become increasingly important if India is to take its rightful place in the geopolitics of the world and is not to be considered a lightweight when the Americans, Chinese, Russians, Brits, French and Israelis make decisions that'll impact the world and the region. Jai hind!
western prop..
..ganda..
powered by netflix ltd 😍
Outstanding report. Thank you, Praveen!
Fascinating Mr Swami is awesome . I am impressed
Raw IPs officers are equivalent to Pak Army General’s….in terms of USA-CAND after retirement settlement.
Other than politics journalism requires no qualification for entry and that is why these two classes of people are most knowledgeable and rightfully passes judgement
It's distressing to hear opinions about what happens behind closed doors in our establishment, whether true or not. India's capabilities as an state aspiring to grow as a "superpower", seems shaky in every inside stories coming out.
What is really frightening is that everyone seems compromised and real Indians trying to work for its benefit becoming obscure. Indian polity looks fragile. Jingoism is making it worse.
Rare Intelligence/operational failures in its 75 years of independence = Everyone is compromised, Indian polity is shaky. I guess it doesn't take much to tickle the funny bone of a doomsday conspiracy theorist. Smilling Buddha, proving links of Mumbai attack terrorists to the Pakistani establishment through years of works by its human and signal intelligence and 10s of successes doesn't count.
Jingoism has always made any intelligence agency more effective not the other way around
From National Security Editor to Contributing Editor?
How awfully relevant to the video.
@@IndianArma relevant enough for you to comment on it tho
Nice one sir… please do a piece on the recent murders of “enemies” of India in Pakistan. Also, how effective is R&AW vs China?
As foreign minister said India is not involved in killing of foreign nationals.
Excellent archival details.
You should write a book and reveal more details as you have great data on international and national matters.
Very right....well made episode. Dowal has a lot to explain it seems...
A truly traitors' point of view
Outstanding Excellent and Superb more such vedios.👍🏻
Great story telling Swami sir.
😅very well said. We never learn. We have a huge carpet under which everything gets buried. Will we ever grow up. The culture of perpetual employment and favour seeking from the establishment of the day will only produce a crop of mediocre and incompetent officials whose sole outlook would be to have it good till they go to their grave and in the meanwhile make sure their sons and daughters have comfortable life in the West. Tragic but true. Wanted patriots!!
Brilliant and insightful.
Learning from past mistakes and learning lessons out of it is a personal trait, and to get it cultivated across the organisation needs significant investment of resources...for s democratic nation like ours, plagued by deep partisan politics this is something very difficult to achieve...the bureaucratic vision and political vision are simply not aligned
This monologue reveals Swamiji is not getting inputs from RAW &IB as he used to in UPA times
An exceptional episode.
Mr . Praveen Swami, we miss your detailed articles , with indepth analysis, in those days, in The Hindu, news paper , I miss a lot.
The present presentation reminds me of such inputs from us.
I still recall murder of five foreign tourists , in kashmir, decades before, covered by you.
May be subject to Print, your present employer, are independently, cover intelligence related topics.
Your articles how are were connected to ground level, apart from official resources.
Regards,
PremKumar K Joshi
May be I request you to write book on this subject.
Excellent report!
The sudden background score♥️♥️😂😂
Very well narrated.
Excellent analysis.
Kudos.
" intelligence ambition unmatched by intelligence tradecraft" - sums it up beautifully
Excellent
Just Brilliant
Thanks for this informative episode 🙏🏻
1. Lesson learnt again and again is that we must stop this free border business with Nepal. It is dangerous for our national security 2. RAW like any other agency elsewhere, will have such hiccups and we need to have leaders of very high integrity to lead such organizations.
Very insightful
Whats with the music at the end
Listening to this is a thriller in itself. Super narration. I would read the book.
Money is the problem
Great video! A piece of constructive criticism: try to keep your lips clean of spit from forming at the edges of your mouth. Maybe wipe off in-between shots. Its quite distracting.
Amazing elaboration
I totally remember this guy . He disappeared into U.S. and was never caught . He was a CIA spy . And he did it for money , bringing shame to so many wonderful officers .
wonderful INDIAN officers are you still sure🤔🥱.
Could you please let us know the soundtrack being played towards the end
Ye containt
hindi me dete ho aur bhi accha lagta 😢😢😢😢😢
Wow very interesting, anyway nobody is perfect, we learn from our mistakes, to evolve from event tonevent, best wishes to our secret service
Brilliant
That is why political stability is required in India . We cant have weak coslition govt lasting for 5 year terms .
Why did no one tell Mr Swamy about the white thing on the corner of his mouth ?
It is the sign of times that we rely on Vishal Bharadwaj and Pravin Swami and Print to "expose" important matters.
What could be the purpose of a film on RAW at this juncture? Is there no place where we voluntarily stay away in the interest of national interest?
If it is freedom of expression, then where is it for Kashmir Files? Who decides what is freedom and what is propaganda? This is what makes my skin cringe - this naked double standard and liberals always standing with topics that put nation in a tight spot.
Intelligence/Espionage is a craft where failure is more common than success. The balance between success and failure in intelligence work is dynamic and influenced by the specific circumstances of each operation. Additionally, the successes often remain undisclosed due to the sensitive nature of the information involved, while failures may become public, contributing to the perception that failure is more common. Take the case of the world's best intelligence agency Mossad which completely failed to see a massive attack on its soil by Hamas in the recent weeks. In India, we often love to paint a sad picture about our intelligence operatives not giving them enough credit for their contribution. That said there is always scope for improvement.
fascinating
Spying is always ugly
That's why internal half war fighting is dangerous.
Well explained .Sad botching by some with monetery greed. Not good for India, but it is what it is.😮
2004 not 2014
Ugly nd Print are synonyms 🤣
So happened on RSS watch and theyvlet him getaway with it. Whis the anti national?
Praveen sir video shuru karne se pehle paani pee lete , thooko thook ho rakha hai...saala video dekh kar घिन aa rahi hai
Always check your face before you go on video. I had to 'watch' this with the video off screen
👏👏👍
Sometimes I wonder is this channel namely the print disperse national views or anti India propaganda?
bhai muh to saaf kar leta
exactly!!. come on
You missed the most important point of them all Swamy… By default or by design… more likely by design
Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches. There never was, is or will there be a utopia. It is never easy to Govern Nations - especially a large polity.
Tailpiece: In this world it is not always what you see is what it is. Showing the other cheek was never an option. Admire the movie. Such stories are not dissected
White stuff in the corner of speakers mouth is distracting.
Print hahaha shameless one
I did see the movie and tried figuring out the story as you started off .Please stick to analysis you are not a good story teller unable to throw a hook in the beginning and keeping the interest alive ...but sure you sounded as an intellectual all thru .....
