Came to review the tire, subbed due to the pure fun passion you have sir! Great vid!
Love it! Happy Holidays JnM!
Dude! You are a treat to watch! Hope life keeps treating you well brother!
Love the enthusiasm you have. Glad to see you out there enjoying your vehicle. And yes, the Mickey Thompson’s are excellent tires.
I came for the tacoma, I stayed because of the goofy excitement in your voice. It reminds me of Marv from home alone, oddly comforting. Sick tacoma!
By far my fav Tacoma channel! I have the exact same truck in stock configuration and really like the inspiration you're giving me. Can't wait to see more of the new camper shell you teased at the end!
Awesome! Thanks for the support, John🙌 I've got some fun stuff planned and there are quirks with the topper.
Thanks for the vid and your time and energy!
Great vid! I just bought 23 tacoma off road 4 dorr short bed. Can't wait to hit some trails.
The rock rolling test should be standard in all vids 😂
Hehe, good call.
Thanks - I have a lunar rock off road coming from Japan in a month - hopefully - Found your channel looking for ideas!
Ooooooh that topper looks great on there at the end!
I like your enthusiasm when talking about ordinary things ;-)
Life is a gold mine, Dig It!!
Thanks for share tires look good
Sure thing Dig!
Even fairly stock the Tacoma makes it look easy. There is a reason why these trucks are insanely popular.
The size alone makes it a very nimble off-roading rig. The front ground clearance is a bit low for me though. I will however address that!
Tacos 🌮 can climb anything, especially with Baha Bosses! Fun video!
You Betcha!
I don’t know anything about mining or prospecting…. But you have good energy and the same truck as I just bought (almost. I got Lunar Rock, but 4 door 5’ bed) so I’m stoked to see more of what you’re putting out! Love the Tacoma vids!
Very nice! The adventures have just begun Nick! Heading on a 4,000 mile expedition here soon!
@@goldsteadingoverland sweet, can’t wait!
Love the wheel/tire upgrades…TRD bronze wheel? What size tires do you recommend?Appreciate the info. Thanks!!!
Love your truck! She looks amazing with your mods and the Lunar Rock colour. I am getting one in white. Debating between the manual or automatic :) thanks for the amazing videos
There are pros and cons to both, Best of luck with your choice🙌
@@goldsteadingoverland Thank you👊🏼
This guys great!
Yeee haaaa🙌
The Tacomas are badass little rigs. To help keep your truck floors nice broski, pickup yourself some weather tech floor mats.
-Keep them vids rolling
Nice video! I’m looking at some Mickey’s, what load rating are yours?
I just purchased the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 35x12.5x17 load "D", 8 ply tires for my 2019 Ford Raptor.
Ready to find some color... Good luck!
Indeed, thanks Chris!
I ended up with a highly used 4banger access cab 3rd gen, it was half the price of a new one haha and Nofx is my favorite band!
I have gone on a snow cat ride in the Rockies and really enjoyed it.
Very cool Rick! It is definitely an experience.
Have a set I’ve ran on a 4runner and FJ cruiser. They really are a decent off-road tire but man they wear funny on the pavement.
Just put BAJA BOSS A/T LT265/65R17 on my 21 TRD Sport 4x4 Tacoma.
If Sean Strickland quit UFC and bought a Tacoma and made a UA-cam channel.
Coming along - an all season floot mat set would be beneficial. Also an OEM set of mudflaps will help save your paint.
Indeed, good call RR. I have heard that the oem mudflaps can rub through the paint.

yes ai lovin the reggae!
Just bought my 2023 lunar rock 4x4 i love taking my tryck places it shouldnt go, i live in california by los angeles so im always looking for places to take it off road, even if theres a street next to me i still take the off road.
this camera! so clear damn lmaoooo niceeeee
Crystal! Thanks man!
Hey - I live down the road from you in Minturn. Thinking about getting the Micky Thompson's. Do you have any updates on performance? I'm running the same Taco- 2022
What state are you in? Looks like the rodes I go on in colorado.
I may have missed it, but what load range are these tires?
I would like to bring my truck with you with some ironMan 265/75/16 10 ply tires & see how much better the Mickey Thompsons beat up on the Ironman tires... Both have the same VERY deep tread depth.. but 1 has a reputable name & the other is a knockoff but rated amazing
Are those the LT or SL’s?
I'm thinking of selling my tundra dc '15 with a topper for an access cab. Sleep in the bed still just a bit concerned with my dog in the back seats. She should fit and be fine if I rear seat delete it. I'm not really interested in the DCSB or the DCLB despite it being better for the dog. Do you have any regrets with your truck?
Is this the 116T, or 123/120 E version of these tires?
Is this on a stock suspension
SL or E1?
How’s the gas mileage with the new tires compared to the stock tires? Another good video
It is a bit hard to tell right now since my area is on winter gas which gives poor mpg's and my speedo is not recalibrated. The dash is currently showing 17.5mpg average. Before winter gas and on stock tires, I was averaging 20.3 mpg. I could feel the truck working harder when upsizing to this tire.

👍
Thank you
@@goldsteadingoverlandmaybe look into re gearing the drivetrain.
4:55 maybe..
i dont think you need 4low for that first hill i took mine stock tires up something a bit more gnarly and the tacoma crushes 💪
Good deal Christian. This was up at 10,400ft elevation and the Taco definitely did not like trying this in 4 HI.
Why did you get 17 inch vs 16? Just wondering I ordered 16 with same tires jw?
I decided to go with 17" rims since they have more tire options for the future. Plus, I like these rims.
I was told by the owner of a Wheel and Tire Store of many decades that there are no steel 17" wheels for the 3rd gen Tacoma. Are those bronze wheels aluminum? If so, how are they holding up to the abuse of moderate to difficult off roading? Thanks.
These are aluminum, 25lbs. I will be able to comment on that after my upcoming extensive desert trip.
@@goldsteadingoverland I will look forward to hearing about that! Thanks and best wishes.
After the intro hyping the tires, next time just run the truck into a wall and then after the crash say that you were very disappointed with the tires. Lol
I have the same tires and size and load rating on my 1500 gmc sierra. I love the tires theu are great. But if i am going on trails like the one's you showed id pick the E rated version. Bigger side biters a 3 ply side wall and 18/32s tread depths the xl rated only has 16/32s tread depth and 2 ply side wall. Seeing the 2 tires side by side in the same size just different laod ratings there is a huge difference in appearance. The E rated look like its on steroids
Good point, it is important to look at the specs for the particular tire you're buying. A couple mm of tread deapth doesnt sound like much, but can make a big difference. Unfortunately on a midsized truck the additional weight and stiffness of an E rated tire can sometimes ruin the ride quality.
The steering wheel shake is because you didn’t rotate your tires. Once you rotate it will slowly go away…
Mickey's are known to use soft rubber, come back after a few thousand miles and tell us how they held up
I will. This set will be getting more high speed road miles thatnusual so will be able to do a real assessment.
You never gave your tire size - should have been right in the beginning.
God willing ill be buying a tacoma 4x4 but in black. I hate this color.
that's not fn snow !!!!!
