Access to Information... A universal right

On 17 November 2015, UNESCO adopted a resolution (38 C/70) declaring 28 September of every year as International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI).
Access to Information allows us to make informed decisions. Governments can be held accountable and corruption can be exposed. Only when countries can guarantee access to information for their citizens, press freedom and freedom of expression can grow. However, much work needs to be done to make true access to information a reality for everyone, everywhere.
Together, we can make this possible; a world where we can all make informed decisions.
