little tip for closing the roof tent .... get a dog lead and use that so you can be on the ground to pull it shut clip the dog end on the strap and when its down hook it over the towbar by the leads handle then jump up and lock it .... short people probs lol
A wonderful video Becky, one of the pitfalls of older vehicles hoses and wiring past their replacement date, but still worth owning. May your problems be few and far between.
...Beautiful video . .. when back home ,, need to take time and replace ALL hoses and belts ... probably long overdue .. the simpler maintenance items are usually the trail breakdowns .. doesn't hurt to even carry spares in Percy ... A good bumper to bumper inspection ,, brakes ,, suspension,, lighting ,, etc ,, once a year can prevent a troubled trip .. most of all Stay Safe ...
Great video as always Handy hint for split hoses I would carry a variety of copper pipe and jubilee clips to put in where the split or damage is Keep safe guys
This might be very useful to know in future - The coolant water in all vehicles is under a small amount of pressure - This allows the water to get hotter then boiling point of 100 centigrade. If you get a leak in the system the hot water is under pressure to blow out of the leaky joint...... Try this - Wait until the engine cools right down... Top the coolant up to the fill point, and leave the radiator cap off. This should stop the leak pressuring to vent... But ONLY mess around with radiator cap when the engine is cool, otherwise you risk scalding burns !! And check the levels frequently.... BTW - really enjoy your YT content
What a lucky Young woman to travel the way you do. It's always good to have company to share your experiences too. Sweden looks lovely. I think Finland would be even more remote. Happy, safe travels.
My 2001 version of that same vehicle drank coolant like crazy until I discovered that it was actually boiling the coolant reservoir because of a cracked cylinder that was sending combustion gases into the coolant system. Got a new engine and 6 months later the same thing happened.....I never let it overheat even once. That engine is such an absolute piece of shiiiite. I do miss that truck and it's ergonomics and general cool-factor. My 20 year old, 200,000 mile Toyota Land Cruiser is a mountain goat and it's almost boring......zero problems with it outside of normal maintenance.
Lofoten do have too many tourists visiting every summer, and I can just recommend visiting further north to Finnmark where there is the true wilderness and also so much more to see. But it's great that you have been visiting Norway now.
Such an amazing place. We did a Nordic trip yer ago. If you like wild you will like Finland. The camping huts are all time! Iceland is our trip this year! Bring on the fire and ice
Be careful of the coolant as the temperature gauge on Discovery 2s wont start rising until its to late they do have a few issues but they are fantastic cars if well looked after
Im so proud of you guys, living wild and free. No debt or financial problems to bog you down. Remember how it feels to have that freedom because its about to get bad. Im in the same boat with you. Like minded people. Rock on! 👍
I was driving from Moi rana in 1997 and my exhaust pipe fell off in the middle of a downpour and I am no mechanic. I used tape and shoe lases to hang it back on. I feel your pain.
Wow, what beautiful places you visited on your road trip, thank you for sharing. I'm surprised there wasn't a lot of drone footage of the mountain ranges close to the sea. If you have another toad trip, I suggest you take full advantage of having an inbuilt charger (Percy) to make the most of battery / flight time to get some stunning views and B roll. All in all I am dead jealous, what a great adventure, a trip to Scandinavia has to go on my bucket list. Thank you.
Lovely to see 😊 +13:23 shott! lying on the ruined building 🙌 +13:38 A good example of sub arctic montane - dwarf birch & blueberry. This is what the Scottish Highlands would have looked like before the intensified grazing from deer, grouse, cattle & sheep.
Thanks for sharing your experience of an amazing leg of you road trip & what can only be expierienced as beautiful breathtaking scenery, much respect to what you are doing & how your set up with your 4x4 works so well, Looking forward to your next one & cable ties are the next best invention to the wheel ! Take care both 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot for showing parts of my beautiful home country Norway in this heartwarm and amazing way, thank you Becky! BTW the name of the small village of «Å» is pronounced like «awe» in awe-some. The last letter of the Norwegian alphabet is this scarce letter Å/å. The name of Lofoten is pronounced in three syllables, like Lo-fo-ten. Keep up your great outdoor adventures :-) Love from H.
All caught up with these wonderful videos. Saw a video of yours years ago and then again when checking out Girl in the Woods videos a couple months ago.Decided to watch them all from the first. Your camera work is stunning, and subject matter is interesting as well. Have always hoped to make a trip to Norway and Sweden, now that I am nearly retired might finally get that chance. Looking forward to more adventures.
Thanks for the video. Glad you got to visit Norway. I follow someone from Norway with a UA-cam channel and it is just stunning. So much to see, I hope you get to go back someday. Hope you two have a wonderful Christmas and new adventures planned ahead. Stay well and be safe.
Beautiful video and thanks for sharing all your wonderful adventures with us. Take care always Becky, and say hello to Jake as well as I watch all of your videos including good ol Bushwhacker man. I’m still watching from the United States😂
I had the water pump go on my Discovery and the garage had to remove the exhaust header pipe to get to the pump. I had a Jeep Cherokee Sport 2.5 diesel before the Discovery 2 and regretted selling it. Never missed a beat in five years touring Europe. Had two other Jeeps prior to the Sport. All maintenance free. 7:387:38 The Discovery was the worst vehicle I have ever owned for breaking down . Please do not get attached to it.
You’re kidding you couldn’t get a length of hose the correct diameter and cut it to length and fasten with at least jubilee clips? Afraid of the local mechanics charges? 🤔
OMG Lofoten wow 🤩 I don’t have time to actually watch this at the mo but just saw that you had uploaded it. Deffo being saved and watched the moment I get a few spare mins. 🇳🇴 🏔️
BECKY DON'T GO FOR TO MUCH TATOOS. YOUR VERY GORGEOUS BEAUTIFUL PERSONALITY. U DON'T NEED ANY TATOOS..❤ FROM INDIA. MUMBAI. GOOD LUCK FOR ALL YOUR JOURNEY'S......
Becky is a fantastic human being and she got a fantastic outdoor UA-cam channel
The scenery was epic, you both are so fortunate to be able to travel to these beautiful places at such a young age.

If you have the diesel....ignore everything I said above :) I had the 4.6 litre V-8, petrol engine.
That sounds dreadful! Yes mine is the Diesel TD5 :)
It's not a bodge if it keeps you going, it's a bush fix!
another great video! Kudo for Jake for fixing Percy!
Beautiful work. I love your travels.
Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!! ✌️

Once again awesome video!
I think you’d enjoy the Lofoten more in the the winter

The music that started at 15:22 with the accompanying scenes was very good. Couldn't have been done any better.

TIL about the "inverted" aeropress method - noticed you were doing it upside down and googled it. Definitely going to give that a try.
Late Welcome, THANK U2 🌟

Good timing. I have just booked flights to go hike the Lofoten Long Crossing in August. It looks so good!
