I find it delightful how your deep appreciation and beauty of the outdoors shines through in your smile and expressions. It looks like your willingness to go with the flow and live in the moment paid off.
As a Canadian and outdoorsy guy, I'll just say, the three biggest threats in terms of animals are Polar Bears, Grizzly Bears and Bull Moose during the rut. Polars and Grizzlies are only in very limited parts of the country. Where I live we have black bears, cougars, wolves, coyotes etc... but only the bull moose makes me nervous when I encounter wildlife. I've had 7 or 8 bear encounters and all ended with the bear leaving the area without showing aggression. :)
@danielmaldonado7287 no... I never have. I've spent years in the bush... ive never heard a sound I didn't recognize. I will say, red foxes and mountain lions (cougars) make the wildest sounds in these parts.
I just discovered your channel. I must tell you how impressed I am that a young lady like yourself has embarked on such a challenge! Well done & stay safe! I'm more tha twice your age and lived in Canada all my life, but have never had the nerve to rey doing what you're doing all alone. Hats off to you!!!
Another brilliant video Becky, thanks for putting it all together. The entire time you were here among bears I kept telling Jill I was so concerned for you. So glad everthing went as well as expected :)
Glad to see that you love the wilderness of Canada and appreciate it very much. When you said « the scenery is something else » I can easily say the same about Scotland. Thanks for sharing this high quality video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Take care !
Hello Becky. Canada is a great place and just huge, look forward to seeing more of your trip. Bears at the tent door, it is a scary experience, been there. Saw lots of wildlife from the moment we landed. Glad you back safely in the Landy. Be safe.
That is a very lovely forest area. As far as the bear spray it is always nice to take the precautions but I find that in our world today it is the humans I worry about more than the wildlife. I sure hope you were able to enjoy as much as you could Canada has experienced so many fires this year.
Wow, this is so amazing. Thanks Becky for the video clip. Canada is also our goal, now it's easier for us after your positive report from the field, we simply have to show up there in nomadic style.
I have said it before and I will say it again, Becky you are an old soul, your wisdom is far beyond your earthly years. Keep on doing what you love and by doing so, shining a bright light into the world.
Fantastic video Becky, really wonderful to watch - thanks so much for taking us along with you. What gorgeous scenery, I know we have some over here, but it feels to me like its character changes quite quickly as you go through it. On big land masses it has so much more space to spread out in (I know that sounds a bit silly and obvious), but you get forests and mountains that seem like they go on forever - you can travel for days and they are still there. Looking forward to seeing more videos from your trip.
If you bike pack from Kelowna to Vancouver beware the TransCanada Trail, Kettle Valley route has had severe washouts. Kelowna to Princeton is ok if rough but Princeton to Coquihalla Summit is in bad shape. You can get from the summit half way down the grade but at times you are on the major motorway. If you go from Hope down Silverhope Road and Paleface Pass, it is remote, steep and rugged.
That scenary... those mountains ⛰, just awesome. Me having a binge watch of your Canada 🇨🇦 adventures tonight. Thank you for sharing this with us Becky 👍
Hello 👋 Becky, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for sharing your Canada 🍁 camping 🏕 adventure. What a fantastic experience. You did a superb job of filming. All the best to you for your good health and safety. 🤗 🖐
I remember watching some of your vids when you had just started vloging. You were so young and it did seem you'd have a lot of adventure in your future. It's great to see you now and see what an interesting young lady you've become. I've spent a lot of time out in the Rockies here in Colorado where I live. I also did a bike tour in the Banff and continental divide area so seeing the Canadian Rockies again is great. This years trip didn't end up perfect for you but just look at it like that just means you really do need to plan another.
Becky, if I might add my two cents; it is absolutely worth visiting the desert southwest of the US. California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, even Big Bend in Texas are all fantastic. And there are no grizzly bears. Of course summer can be deadly hot. Be safe!
This is the first video I've watched on your channel and I must comment on how brave you are. Contemplating if I could ever do such a thing on my own and realizing that the only limitations are the ones we place on ourselves. Safe Travels.
14:25 as 1 door closes multiple more open just gotta be ready and enjoy every moment i realised this a few week ago, Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.
You are very courageous Becky, I would struggle with the possibility of bears wandering into camp at night. I'm an old timer Englishman who has hiked and camped in the US Southwest since 1989, only rattlers and Bark Scorpions to contend with, but not bears ! Love your videos, admire your spirit, keep on keeping on young lady.
A very wonderful video Becky, I am glad your time in this beautiful country met or exceeded your expectations. It is a shame that the wildfires this year put a bit of a crimp into some of your plans, but that is nature and life. Looking forward to your continuing exploits.
Was just thinking as you said it that the scenery looked a lot like Scotland (albeit with better weather than we usually get, although it's lovely this week!)
Sometimes we plan for a trip and think that it is the best plan ever. But when things goes out of plan and missy the trip became surprisingly more fun than we expected the the planned one.
I hike in these areas I am only 50 min. drive away...yes one of the last places where natural areas thrive glad you experienced 'real' nature I am lucky to be living here a drive westward to west coast is a treat as well it is nature...nature...nature also there is bigfoot where you were...you mentioned twigs breaking and felt being watched ( I seen one at 25 yards )
Wow, just saw you have 144k subs! Im one of trhe OG subs and knew you would take off so long as the content kept comiung. I'm in Victoria BC, the Rockies are definately spectacular, almost surreal. Look forward to seeing your videos here on the coast. Maybe we dont have quite the peaks of there but its mountainous and more lush being mostly temperate rainforest and youll smell the ocean air. Keep em coming.
A brilliant video. I wish I'd done something like that when I was able to, I'm now disabled and enjoy watching videos like yours as a reminder that I should have got out and done more when I could. I also enjoyed the book "Into The Wild" and for the record....I'd sooner put up with the bears than (some) people. Looking forward to the rest of your videos. Matt from Wales.
A couple notes about bear spray. It is brutally painful if you spray yourself, so if a bear approaches from the direction of the wind and you spray, you are going to feel it as well as the bear. If you are sleeping with the spray and use it in a tent, you are probably going to get it worse than the bear. I have had some very close encounters with grizzlies, but never had to use the spray and I am not quite sure how to use it if the bear is upwind or in confined quarters.
So happy you have a personal locator beacon!! Smart girl ❤! If you encounter a bear, spray the ground just a head of the bears line of travel towards you. They tend to lower their heads if they charge and pick up the spray into their nasal cavities.
Seen a bear, lynx and a bloody garter Snake in the woods next to the Rockies this week. First time I have ever seen a snake in western Alberta. Startled me more than the bears do lol. Love your adventures and your pictures are just stunning !
What a wonderful adventure for you my dear nature is not as scary as some people want you to think You did well and you're a lovely young lady and I wish you the best for all your upcoming adventures
I haven't watched this video yet but I saw the bear spray in the thumbnail and came here to stress how important bear spray is. It literally saved my own and that of my hunting partner's lives this August in Northern BC while on a sheep hunt. If anyone is going out and thinking twice about bringing it, do it. I might not be here right now if I didn't.
Looking forward to more Canada, we did a fly drive back in 2017 , vancouver to calgary via kamloops , valemount jasper camore . Awesome country side. Would like to go back and do vancouver island.
@GirlOutdoors oh yes ! Round every corner there was another fantastic view. We bought some bear spray , we had to register it to our names , left it with the last BandB we stayed at.
My kit from my adventures 😊

What about “Sasquatch”? I’m sure you probably heard noises from unknown “animals” from time to time.
@danielmaldonado7287 no... I never have. I've spent years in the bush... ive never heard a sound I didn't recognize. I will say, red foxes and mountain lions (cougars) make the wildest sounds in these parts.

Completely agree with you! All the best :)
Bear spray works on dangerous humans too.
@@larrylebowski8386 I carry other protection for the humans.
Oh great..another one of those "it's the humans I'm worried about" smh
@@damage6836 yep but I'm a 5th degree black belt and I carry protection so I think I can handle the crazy humans that might bother me.

with bears I read that if it's brown lay down if it's black fight back and if it white say goodnight.

not if its white.
