Don't ever worry about getting too deep Becky... It is the depth of your Heart and character that enhances all that you share with us. Thanks for letting us tag along on another wonderful chapter in your journey.
Miss Becky, you have definitely found your calling 💖. Thank you for sharing with thousands of us the beautiful places. A pretty lady with a great 😃 smile. Still lovin'it from Texas 💕🌹💖.
Your enthusiasm for travel and making a life full of experiences is so amazing and brings joy through the screen. You have an ethos that resonates so much. Keep being you because you have totally got the meaning of life. I wish you many many decades of continued adventure and fulfillment ❤
You and I are polar opposites I'm fifty years old and working in a factory and your out adventuring but found your channel when my first grandchild was born and loved watching your vids for me proper heart lifting
I just love the emotion that comes through in this video. The very raw self reflection at around 7 minutes really hits home. Whenever I feel anxious or worried talking to myself in this way always helps. Then to follow it up with some beautiful footage was just perfect. Allowing the viewer to just take those thoughts and let them sit for a bit. Great editing and awesome content ❤
Thankyou Becky. I love the way you describe your relationship with nature's beautiful places. Your words really take us along on your journeys. Best wishes from Australia.
When one is on the "right" path, they just know, life flows. The more that we challenge ourselves by moving out of the conventional societal box, the more we expand, and we can never go back. We are explorers by nature. I travel full time in the Western US and this journey has been one of the best choices that I ever made. Keep doing what you are doing Becky--it is a matter of following your heart.
I did the NC500 a year or so ago, some of it on my own. My favourite trip/holiday ever. The west coast area is just amazing. I lucked out with a few full blue sky days
Quite rugged and beautiful. Thanks for the video. I like when you say bits and bobs, something you don't hear over here. Can't wait for the next video. Stay well and safe. Spring is on its way.
You are full of gratitude Becky which a beautiful thing.I get those same emotions now myself being 3 years 3 months clean and sober. Living in the present appreciate everything life is giving you ✌️❤️
My plan is also to buy a Land Rover and convert to a camper. But because I am a single male 6' 2" I will be adding a fixed high top or an elevating top price depending. As an additional note solar panels do still provide power on cloudy days, I have a small 40 wattt here in my garden trickle charging my car battery over the winter when my car is winterizing. Really like your new awnings and the idea of lowering them if rain is coming to allow fall off.
Thanks for sharing your new adventure Becky the scenery is beautiful,I’ve really enjoyed it and wishing you well on your journey. Safe travels. Thank you❤
Hi Becky. Thank you for sharing your adventures. I always look forward to your videos. As someone who loves being outdoors hiking and wildcamping, I appreciate seeing others on their adventures also. The outdoors saved me many years ago and it's always been very humbling for me and a privilege to experience nature. Seeing your journey is both inspiring and heartwarming so thank you. That sunrise was spectacular. We are so blessed as humans to be able to witness these kinds of things. Your storytelling and narration is wonderful. What a journey you are on. Keep on enjoying nature ❤
Love this!! Brings back so many memories of my childhood spent growing up in Keiss. You have visited a few places that I frequented as a child and it feels so nostalgic to see them again. Thanks for bringing Scotland to New Zealand :)
Highland clearances, Duke of Sutherland will be the back story for a lot of the ruins. Notice in Golspie his statue has its back to the town (the people)
Great choice of music to start off the video. I'm guessing it is the sound of a hurdy gurdy. You started off great and you keep getting better. I admire and respect what you have accomplished.
There's like no reason to say that unless your warning her not to hit any potholes in the road, there's literally plenty of houses in that area that still don't bother locking their doors at night.
My dear you are an inspiration to all people, especially of your age group. Keep it up. Cape wrath trip was so well done I loved watching you on that. You were brave and intrepid.
Around 8 minutes in totally resonates with me, I’m 27 with no family or friends and my only passions in life are camping and art, life is a crazy thing and the journey is even crazier… Got me wishing for a life with a woman like you
Hey Becky, thank you so much for sharing your amazing travels! I've been following along with every single one and they always leave me feeling inspired and wanderlust-filled. 🌍
Becky I love your wilderness wandering vlogs. The crofts are deserted because the tents were cruelly evicted from small holdings to make way for huge herds of sheep. Many of the displaced tents had little option but to head for the cities and lots of them had to emigrate to USA. I often think it would be nice to renovate a croft, but ultimately you may still be at the whim of the person who owns the land. Looking forward to the next vlog. I'm heading to Stoer soon and may even bag Suilven if weather is kind.
Been looking forward to this trip, and wasnt disappointed, very much looking forward to all of your Scotland films. Be doing this myself next year, and im soaking it all up. Thank you and well done👍👏👏👏
That was a great video Bec as always . Perhaps more emphasis on doing shopping in the small communities which I endeavour to do when touring to Scotland twice a year , every year for several weeks at a time. NC 500 has numerous such shops along the way. These shop keepers appreciate your spends more than the big outlets in our cities. Thanks for sharing.
I too wet to Scotland last April from the west country. 5 weeks and 2500 miles just me and my best friend Slinky the sausage dog. Truly a amazing road trip with nature. I've learnt that you dont get lonely when you are with nature😊 Thankyou for the inspiration ❤ Great content Becky.
Top tip on the owning. In really wet conditions I’ve found that the telescopic leg clamp loose their grip and start to compress no matter how much you twist the leg. It seems to me Moisture builds up on the inside of the larger diameter top tube so give them a poke with a rag on a stick to dry them out then they work great again.
Wow Becky you are now in my past home location Inverness and I am really going to enjoy the following vlogs of part of the route I visited before the NC 500 became known. Hope the weather is fair to you.
Looks like an awesome road trip you've embarked on, Becky! Would love to see it for myself. I'll bet pictures can't do justice to the actual scenery. 🥰👍❤
Thank you again Becky for an incredible video. I really enjoy the way a person can relax viewing your videos. You said you like history and I'd suggest "Time Team" on UA-cam for some great British history. It would fill in a lot of the gaps for you and have you looking for "lumps and bumps" all over the place as you go down the road.
I started doing this route in the mid 1990s. Back then there was rarely another car on the road and the term NC500 didn’t exist. Just came back from doing it for the first time with my 7 year old and I was amazed at how busy it has become and the locals aren’t happy about it. I suppose it was the Easter holidays when we went but sadly, the friendliness of the people that live along the route has really taken a hit. Still beautiful as ever though. Back in the 90s I used to always do this trip alone but I never felt lonely.
Dan. We lived in Scotland for 5 years. We drove this route in under 3 weeks but loved the Journey. staying in inns on the way. But it Is as spectacular as she says, Lived Alaska and Africa and the Middle east. Maybe the Rhine river drive or Western Canada drive would compare.
Wow seeing this is perfect timing! I’m currently planning a 3 week trip in September going across to Ireland to the Macgillycuddys Reeks and Dingle peninsula on the wild Atlantic coast. Then 2 weeks going up the west coast of Scotland taking in Islay Jura and Skye, and then the NC 500. You’ve really set my appetite for it going crazy!! Looking forward to your ext video already.. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts, it’s amazing what solitude can do for the mind and soul! Thamks again. Drew x
I’m going to follow all this series of these videos to see how many times you say beautiful 😂😂 there was 17 in this one, I love watching them, keep up the good work ❤️
A lovely video Becky and I do so admire your desire to find out more of the land and the people. Unfortunately, many visitors are taken by superficiality of much that is presented to the 'tourists'. Much of our history is written by those who held and wielded the power and this perspective hides much of the story behind the landscape we see today. Dunrobin Castle, for instance, and the statue of the Duke of Sutherland which stands on Ben Bhraggie or Beinn a'Bhragaidh (Ben Vragay), seem impressive places to stop awhile and visit. The splendour of Dunrobin, however, hides a very horrific period of the area's history and the then Duke of Sutherland's part in it. The statue is impressive but the true locals look upon it in a different manner to those who are incomers or are visitors: the Big Mannie is not someone to look up to in their eyes. As you look around and see the ruins of the more distant past the tales they could tell would be very revealing. An easy introduction to this period in Scottish history would be the novel by Iain Crichton-Smith called "Consider The Lilies". The tale is told from the perspective of an elderly lady living during those times. Although a novel, it is rooted in historical fact and will help you begin to understand something of the landscape that you are passing through. A hardcopy, or Kindle version, is available through Amazon: amzn.eu/d/4qHkX9f (Are links allowed in Comments?) Sorry for dwelling on the 'school lesson' and sounding other than your video deserves. I do so love your adventures and also your enthusiasm is so contagious. Don't worry about being so 'deep' when talking of your thoughts. We all share those same kind of moments.
Great video and adventure Becky! Something so good about just getting behind the wheel and doing long drives, taking it all in and the birds too :) Your new awnings look brilliant.
I like your idea of low season NC500, good choice. Nice video. i think there is quite a lot of outdoorsy kit on UA-cam, tarps, Hammocks and superlight weight single skin trekking pole tents spring to mind, generally developed for predictable US or tropical climates, that will underperform or fail in gusty, rainy cold but not freezing UK conditions, 4X4 wrap around awnings I will add to the list.
Hi Becky we are an English family living in NZ. All born in England. Been here all our lives This country you will love. Beautiful mountains lakes forests and secluded beaches. And only 4 million people top to bottom. Nice to hear a good old English accent again. Follow your dreams If you Google Cable Bay NZ, that's us. Right near the top of the North Island on the East Coast in Doubtless Bay. Give us a shout out on your next video Take care Roger and June.
First time seeing one of your videos, and I am totally in love, just such a beauty, I can't help myself, your Land Rover has just stolen my heart. Such a cracking vehicle and the colour is fabulous, it just looks so good. 🙂 .... Great video by the way.
that's an amazing trip , no place else in the World like that! new awnings are perfect, very simple . I couldn't really tell but can you attach guy lines to the tarp and stake it down? are there attachment points? that would really help in a wind. 👍👍😎
That a journey I would love to make, I did the welsh coast in 10 days car camping and it was so good... scotland is a whole other beast, maybe this year in my rangerover!

I love virtually touring Scotland from Michigan. Be careful traveling alone.

Another kiwi who enjoys Becky's videos. She would be blown away by the mountains in the South Island.
500 seems a lot, but when I thought of it, I realised that is just my regular 1day fishing trip to the river and back :)
Hi Becky I really like your channel, video was good looking forward to next one

Great video, Looking forward to the next one. Dunnet Head is fantastic and Dunnet Bay is just a delightful beach: one of my favourite places
Love that area. You captured the essence so well. Happy travels!
The film Annihilation (Natalie Portman) ends in a lighthouse. Great film. Great vid Becks xxx

I love it and I wish I could be there!!!
That is a very classy and nicest disco I’ve seen
My tip for NC500, don't do it all. Start from Inverness, go clockwise, stop at Durness, turnaround, you then do the best part twice!
I did half of this last year. Felt I needed more.
Love and light ireland ❤
what a lovely and inspiring video thank you
No major shops north of Inverness! We do have supermarkets even in Orkney 🤣
Your right about Inverness being busy now though,I’ve just come back from a weekend down there and couldn’t wait to get out.
Love your Scotland videos, beautiful place 😀👍🌲
