My grandson is 7. We can't go anywhere in the car without playing the 1916 album. We can't exit the car til whatever song is playing finishes. He loves 'em.
Wonderful stuff! The 4-piece line-up was really great live. If you were at the front, just the sound coming from their backline was LOUD!
My friends band supported them in 1991 & I met them backstage, we got on particularly well with Wurzel (R.I.P) who gave me some good advice and a guitar pick, in return I gave him a Motorhead sweatband (An unofficial one in black & white). I got a postcard from him a long while later from New York (apparently he wrote a lot of postcards!) thanking me & saying he'd worn the sweatband on a lot of gigs and photo-sessions. Watching this reminded me as he's wearing it in this video! He was a lovely bloke and a cracking guitar player.
With Lemmy, you very much sensed you were in the presence of a legend. Considering how legendary he was, I did feel he deserved a bit more, but that recognition & success came as the 90s progressed after he'd moved to the US & written for Ozzy etc.
I was 19/20 at the time of meeting them and Lemmy (R.I.P) would have been 46, which to us then was SO OLD. Now I'm that age, it doesn't seem so old ...

Very cool video and quality, very sad the sound quality isn't better though. Still legendary stuff. I can see it is the same style, pace and sound as the live munich dvd, which i concider the best live rock dvd of all time.

do you have seen motorhead playing title song from 1916 (with the same name) at any of their live shows? me not..and t really regret it! :-( Their most "badass" (but other badass type,as most thought) anti.war song,one of their bast "balads" and defitiviely one of the most iconic songs in history of rock´n´roll ! Don´t be shy,tell us how much bring you that song to cry? Me..definitively many times,and i think,i am not a "pussy" (that was typical Lemmy word for those type of ppl ,i think :-) )..Don´t let me to plead you,tell us about.. thx
