Sorry I know this is like my 3rd comment. But as a little girl here in a small town in north Texas we had neighbors down the road that were an older couple and were fairly well off. Once a year usually in spring they'd host a neighborhood BBQ. They provided all the meats and plastic ware (plates, forks, cups, etc), and everyone brought sides, drinks and desserts. The last one I remember them having had well over 75 people there.

I would recommend a smaller community not a huge city if she did want to come as a student. Our area host students in Columbiana County which is located in Ohio. The last family hosted an Italian student. They took him on vacations, four wheeling, boating, camping, homecoming, American sports, prom, different restaurants etc. They tried to have as many experiences as possible while he was here. Also prayers for a speedy recovery 🙏🏼

One of my best friends in high school was a foreign exchange student from Berlin and she loved the opportunity to come to the US. That was in 1992 and we’re still friends even though we haven’t seen each other since then. I understand as a parent that it has to be really difficult to let your child do something like that but I also think that it’s an amazing opportunity for them! It’s also beneficial to the American students they befriend and expands their experience too. I was an Air Force brat so my family moved around quite a bit because of that so I got to experience different regions and cultures in my childhood and I wouldn’t change that for anything! I was 8 when we moved with the military for the last time before my dad retired and we were in a small city in South Georgia. Many of the kids I knew in school had never even been out of Georgia before. So I’ll always recommend for people to expand their horizons and experience other cultures. I just thought I’d share that. I also went to my junior prom with an exchange student from Sweden. And we’re still friends too

Thanksgiving dinners at Grandma's house were a giant pot luck . She had an old huge Southern farm family of 11 kids . All but the youngest were married and had kids and some of the older ones had kids who were married and had their own kids ,so it was usually somewhere between 30 to 50 people spread over 4 generations. Each of the women brought at least one dish so it was like eating at one of the huge buffets at a Las Vegas hotel . I would eat so much that I had to go outside because the smell of food was too much for my overstuffed stomach

HEY GUYS 😄. I'm actually from Minnesota, very close to saint paul. I actually drove past his college today after my 2nd job. I'm glad u guys thought it looked nice, but I have to say that saint paul and Minneapolis are like the worst (and dirtiest) places to go in my opinion 😅. There is lots of fun stuff to do, but I think it's nicer out side of the city. If you guys come to Minnesota or any other states, make sure you explore the suburbs and if you have time also explore the country side a bit as well 😄. I'm biased because I don't like big cities much, but I think you should check out the suburbs and countryside to get a "real" feel for the state that your in as well 😉. Let me know if you guys come to Minnesota in the future and I will tell you all the good spots to go, and will even meet up with you as well if you like 😁. ALSO! Get-togethers like this were the core of my early German/Scandinavian ancestors in the US as far as entertainment. They were all poor, but some could play an instrument. My great grandfather on my mother's side could supposedly play anything with strings (Cello was his favorite). I wish I knew more about him, but that is apparently a huge mystery other than he was an accomplished "cabinetmaker". I guess that means he made furniture. My grandfather on my mother's side was primarily a drummer (music-wise) and had a little success with that (back in the big-band days), although with just a 6th-grade education he made model planes that actually flew and apparently he understood Bernoulli's equation, but still was financially poor.

Suggestion to fix the volume problem: I've noticed other reactors have the UA-cam video volume all the way up, which will make your recorded volume really loud, but you can always lower your speaker volume so it's not too loud for you in the room, but the screen capture audio will be really loud when you edit.
In my editing software, I can record the screen and myself as separate tracks and each has it's own audio. So when I edit, I can separate the audio from both videos, so I can have 2 video tracks, one is UA-cam video/screen capture, the other is me, and then 2 audio tracks, one of the UA-cam video/screen capture and me. And then you can adjust both audio tracks for volume as you edit.
And then, since you usually stop the video to talk, you can normalize the audio so that your talking and the sound from the video you're reacting to are the same volume level throughout the video and that way when you pause and talk and then go back to the UA-cam video, people won't have to adjust their volume as you go back and forth between video sound and your reaction sound.
It's probably better to make a video with a high volume level that people can lower, than to have a low volume level and have people raise their volume and forget and then go to watch another video and blow out their speakers --- or their ears --- because their volume was too high.

Yes, the grass is always greener somewhere else, or so it seems. I love being an American and a Texan- that being said I was thrilled my daughter chose to go to university in Belfast. The college system in the UK seems way more efficient than here. For example her degree is a 3 year program there. Same degree here 4 years- because you have to take basics (like math, physical education, etc) here to then be able to take degree specific courses. It's a money trap because in that extra year you're not only paying for an extra year of school but also housing, food, travel and living expenses. In the UK you don't repeat basics you learned in high school. Plus she is doing a travel abroad semester next fall in Greece. As a single mom I would never have been able to afford college her here, much less the travel. And don't get me started on all the crap that's in our foods. The UK seems to have a much better handle on not allowing toxic ingredients into the food supply.

I believe he's saying "Pot Luck". A type of meal where each guest brings a dish of food to contribute to the overall meal.

There are thousands of us in the states who want to help your wonderful daughter study here, financially and otherwise.
She should stay in a dorm, though. Easier and more enjoyable for her.

Like your channel, but I've learned to check the runtime of the original first. A 12 minute original and yours is 23 minutes? Way to much pausing for me.
