To fix the tiling, I would have gone into the rotation tab and adjust the rotation randomness there.

Great video perfect for what I’m trying to do which is making a Rocketship land but how do you make the smoke pass around the ship instead of through it?
You could add a collision modifier to the rocket ship, that should help the particles not go through it.
@@kextnext Thank you for getting back to me so fast but collision modifier was the first thing I tried and I also tried the rigid body Constraints as well but no luck. I will admit that I am inexperienced with physics properties so I may not have things set up correctly.
Of course! Try checking the “size deflection” box in the physics properties. If it still doesn’t work, I think you might want to look at making a real smoke simulation. It will even look a bit better than this trail trick. Best of luck!

Hi thanks for the tutorial! one problem I'm having is that when I zoom out in rendered view the smoke becomes invisible, even in renderings. Am I missing something obvious?
You could try to check the clipping distance in your camera, and the volume render distance in the render settings

Nice tutorial. Not an easy one but this one is different because there are no tutorials for smoke trails without simulation. Thank you. By the way, Blender should definitely need to improve its simulation engine. It is so slow that it is almost useless unless you have a super power pc.

Oh it was just an HDRI with some color correction in the world shader.

you can scale the cube to form a tunnel and in materials use something that notifies the cube of the position of the projectile and farther the projectile less dense but more space volume and closer the projectile more dense and less space volume; is it possible ???

I’m pretty sure you can do it in the shader with a particle info node. You just have to divide the age by the lifetime, then put it through a color ramp and reverse it. You can adjust it from there

Hee love your vid. It helped me a lot for my jet animation. But the smoke is kinda black and I tried to change it but that did not work
Try playing with the multiply node, and make sure you set the cloud color to white. Also, lighting helps a lot.
im having the strrangest most strangest issue, im in cycles, and my smoke looks perfect in rendered viewport however, when i try to render it, the smoke appears far away from the emitter and its just not rendering properely. i have no idea what the issue is

How is the camera animated? I found no tut where it's shown how you animate your camera like this. Also the with the shakes. (Or is that shaking made in After Effects?)
I used a damp track constraint on the camera, as well as some noise modifiers on the camera’s rotation axis’s. Noise modifiers are like the wiggle expression in after effects I love them haha. Would you like a tutorial?

im on blender 3.2. and i have the exact same node setup for the smoke and i dont see the sphere thats in the video at 3:45
you have to play with the mapping node
every blender tutorials does not miss instructions to install node wrangler haha.. i bet at this point there is no one who havent heard of node wrangler, maybe Blender should make it a default enabled feature

Hi! I followed the tutorial and made a rocket launcher scene but when i want to render it, it renders till the particle simulation starts and then it crashes, can someone tell me why is this happening?
Make sure to bake the particle sim
@@kextnext Hi, I baked it and even reduced the particle count to 100 and still it just stops rendering at the fifth frame. Maybe my pc is too weak, but i dont know cus now with 100 particles it loads in in the rendered view , previously it just crashed when i wanted to see what the render view looks like.

The vector between texture coordinate and noise texture must be a vector math(purple) not math(blue).
Missiles are like 3M's long on average granted they can be smaller but the missile you replicated was 4M's

Did you try adjusting the clipping distance in the camera settings? If you’ve already done that, then try looking at different volume settings in the render settings.

You should be able to change the color and intensity in the shader editor

Well the particle system is actually made up of volume objects. Mess with the volume step rate in the render settings
