How I built those traditional style cabinets.

Nicely done Ross, shows how good a finish is achievable with hand tools, that might take slightly longer, but speedy to set up.

Yeah wood isn't cheap these days so a reasonable price. I built a basic DVD case (1.5m wide by 1.8m tall) from dressed pine (182mmx19mm boards) and the cost was $400AU just for the wood. MDF would have been cheaper but we wanted it unpainted.

Thanks mate, always nice when people from different countries share their thoughts. The materials weren't that bad on this one, actually labour however was a little more because of some of the decorative details that we had to add!
