    How are we feeling about our Houston Rockets.. above .500, 4th defense in the NBA, 8th in net rating, All Star level 21 year old, Jalen Green 30 bomb, Jabari Smith Jr. playing efficient basketball, Tari doing his thing, Young guns Cam and Amen waiting in the wings. There's a lot to be thankful for!

      I would feel exceptional if Orlando wasn't first in defense but I feel pretty good

      You would leave out our consistent REAL All Star level center Alpi in this comment you JalenStan you couldn't wait for him to have game like this to overreact! It's 2 all star level out of 12 games that's not an all-star dude you have to bring that level or close to it every night otherwise Jalen is just a mf 6th man with scoring highlight games here and there like Lou Will or Jamal Crawford not even a Zach Lavine level. Can't wait for him to be off my team when his rookie contract expires.

    loved Jalen's bounce back after being benched. sometimes that's the only way to get a young player's attention. I agree with you disicipine must be paired with encouragement and love to be effective. Udoka has conducted a master class on how to handle a young team thus far. the numbers don't always tell the story, but if you're watching you can see the team growing. before you can run you must first learn how to walk and we have taken the first steps of learning how to do that. we will still stumble, but the more we do it the better we will get at it. if we are to ever realize the true potenial of these young players these are steps in the right direction that must be taken. GREAT POD

    Can’t complain Al P playing at a all star level Jabari playing some damn good ball right now and Fred and Dillion for the most part has been huge for this team and Jalen had a bounce back game.
    If Jalen can be consistent and we keep doing our thing once Amen comes back we are going to be a team nobody wants to see

    Frank you called it. But that doesn’t surprise me. You are always on point in your assessments. Definitely my favorite sports analyst. Idk how the Rockets organization hasn’t reached out to you for a job. Seriously.

    This is exactly what I was talking about the previous game. When he's more aggressive it will be better for us. Jalen is doing the Rockets no favors by being passive.

    Another great take! Everyone has a role - Jalen’s role is to attack and be that guy that bends the defense. He can’t abdicate that role without the team suffering, regardless of how well he’s shooting. Now we have to see how he does against better defensive teams where being aggressive might look a little different.

  • @DJWaller

    Can’t complain. I love how the defense improved and is currently the team’s calling card. Al-P and Bari are balling. Jalen finally shows up again. They just to find a way to win on the road. Ime’s coaching is essential! 🤌🏼

    People need to chill. This kid is not even 21 yet. Mentally he's still a rookie because he didn't have a real coach the last 2 yrs to develop him. Now he does. Ime is going to get him on point. Give it time. He's not anywhere near his prime. Let him develop and I see him as a better Mitch Richmond

    Never wanted to trade this dude. I just wanted this version of him. We're better than anybody thought we'd be at this stage. AlP got a night off, so to speak lmao

    • @codingstyle9480
      @codingstyle9480 9 місяців тому +1

      That was on purpose probably. They wanted to put Jalen in rhythm and that is why the coach let him use a lot of balls.. Alpi was doing good screens for him all the time. The coach is sure about what Alpi is capable of and he is definitely the "go to guy" in this team in hard moments. But without Jalen or somebody else being on fire bombarding the basket, they cannot compete well with the best teams.

    Being aggressive is not enough on its own. Use your brains and read the game, know when to drive, when to shoot and when to pass; you should need to add these. Without the latter, being aggressive is just an empty sack.

      I disagree, I can teach someone using an algorithmic approach to do something.. if “a” do “b” until they gain enough experience to where they develop intuition. Thats what coaching/teaching/developing comes into place. Not saying it guarantees the student reaching that high level of competence but at baseline you can leverage innate abilities until higher level skills develop

      @@ROCKETSCHOPSHOP Learning is fine in theory, but in his 3rd year, it's still pretty much the same with Jalen. Predictable drives at full speed that get stuffed at what I believe must be an exceptional rate for guards.

    nothings changed for jalen he still keeps at l being selfish. houston has to decide soon if they keep jalen or alperen because they don't match eachothers.

    • @codingstyle9480
      @codingstyle9480 9 місяців тому +1

      Why should they get rid of a top 5 center and keep on relying on a guy who behaves like a rookie in his third year. Trade Jalen. He is worse than KPJ as far as selfishness is concerned.

    Love how the Rockets are playing it’s sustainable, winning basketball. I’ve always said that Jalen has to be the guy offensively tho for us to reach out peak potential. Coach Ime made a couple adjustments that were key: 1) Not playing Landale 2) Allowing JG to orchestrate the offense and run more isolation and 2-man game with Alpi. FVV is better off ball imo. Hopefully we can keep this offensive approach. Couple that with our defense and this team is destined for the playoffs!

    • @betfonte3366

      They dont make plays for jalen. Everyone has a play made for them but jalen has to create on his own

    • @ROCKETSCHOPSHOP
      @ROCKETSCHOPSHOP  9 місяців тому

      Yea In order to feature Jalen as the primary ball handler he has to play better and more consistently.. it’s the chicken and the egg thing.. you play bad and passive so other guys take shots which take the ball out your hands and makes you play bad and passive.

    • @Dirty_deuce1906
      @Dirty_deuce1906 9 місяців тому

      @@ROCKETSCHOPSHOPWhat you like to say “that’s cap” lol?! Just give the man the ball as the primary, with actions with Alpi and he’ll be productive. Of course he’ll have a few bonehead plays bc he’s 21 and still being groomed into a playmaker. But as you’ve alluded to in other videos, he has to develop into a scorer/playmaker or defender robe one of the guys that’ll lead us when we’re ready to contend. This is the perfect time to get the reps in now that we have a competent coach imo.
