Going to pick up the 7’5” MB cranking rod you use. Will fit the bill for my needs. I really respect that you tell it like it is, and that you’re not a shill for high end gear.
I always try to get the best stuff I can for the best price points honestly if I had a bunch of money I would buy Super high-end stuff because I could afford it but that's just not the reality and never has been for me LOL
Something I've noticed with all these kinds of videos is I tend to use a little to a lot heavier action rods for a lot of techniques... I'm down in the SW Louisiana E Texas area and I basically fish 3 lakes Toledo Bend Sam Rayburn and Lake Fork. I've always bought rods that will handle 2-5 pounders but are more tailored to 8 to 12 pounders. I'm the same way though when I find a rod or reel I really like I definitely tend to buy duplicates for that just incase moment. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!!
I think you might be a little more normal man. I am starting to notice I use a little lighter action or softer rods doing the stuff that I do compared to most other guys that I meet. I think it's just a preference thing
Fell in love with punching a couple years ago, and have been punching with a not so ideal 7'6" old lightning rod from berkley (broomstick) I've learned from your videos over the years and im looking to buy an ideal punch rod. In Michigan I'm mainly punching/flipping pad fields which halo would you recommend the 7'6 or 7''11?
Halo rods are really good Mikey, I have sold a bunch of them, if you are ever in Corinth, MS, come by 2nd Amendment Outdoors we have a large fishing section, great videos buddy, you did a good show with Nathan Martin, he is a good friend of mine, Take care buddy
What rod blank is used in the Halo Rave series ? Never spent a $100 dollars on a rod in 65+ years. Viewed a video a couple months ago with Striper/ Hybrid Guide in Oklahoma ---- uses BPS Fish Eagle with 54 million modulus RT3 graphite blank. Incredible bend strength in tip which i covet. Love cork handles ---- only $10 more than Halo. I am Light Tackle fisherman & use spinning reels only. Chatterbait is one of my mainstays. supfoo3638 said it best --- thanks Mike
You are not the only one to tell me that I've had a lot of guys say how much they love those things I need to try it but I think deep down I am kind of a spinning rod guy
Mike on your 6’ 10” Halo spinning rod what size reel are you using 2500 3000, 4000 ? I have a pretty heavy 3000 Diawa Eliminator on both of mine Which is almost a 4000 It holds tip up about 2” from balanced but I don’t mined it like that.
The Black Max are really nice to actually. I used to run them a whole bunch when I lived in North Florida. I just had some issues in Colder Weather with them and the anti-reverse and drag washers
Yeah man. Got halo xd and about to get another. Plus got 2 diff duplicate pair of shoes in the closet. Glad iam not the only one. Thanks for videos.
Great lineup. Appreciate the techniques called out and thought behind them 🤙🏻
Those slx reels are solid reels for the price point I got 10 of them so far I plan on fishing them a life time
Have same dobyns setup for glide baits, tatula 300
Almost to 100k. Thats awesome! Thanks for the video
Almost there mam thanks for the support!
I love the whole slx line I only have the new slx a but I can’t wait to get the others I have the first gen ones but they revamped all of them

Great tips man 🔥
Mikey,
What is the best (somewhat affordable) spinning rod for chatterbaits? I fish the California Delta a lot.
Thanks- love your channel.
Mikey you should get some u40 cork seal. Keeps the cork clean and nice. I've been replacing all my reels with slx's too. Can't beat em for the money

Loved this and loved the budget. I too fish this price point and it gets the job done no issues.
That's the whole game get the nicest stuff you can for the lowest price point possible
@@mikeybalzz shimanos slx line is somethin special. Rods and reels. I think Diawa is crushing the game right now too at the next price range
thanks for sharing and who doesn't love a e7
Great video Mikey, that was awesome ❤👊
Shimano and halo! I have the SLX, just have to get the halo rods.
Great video!
Thanks!
Greetings from the BIG SKY of Montana. I have 3 fishing poles left at 74. I'm lucky.

That is an awesome name for an outdoor store! I will try to slide by if I ever get down to the lower end of Pickwick again to spend a few days

Very interested in that multi use jerk bait rod!
It's pretty sweet!
Mikey you need to try a BFS casting setup. They have basically ALMOST replaced all spinning rod setup for me.

Next up
We’re waiting for you and JT @Headwaters

Hey Bog!
Just bought the Halo KS II Elite Casting Rod 7'5" Heavy, what do you think it will be good on it?
You're gonna love that rod. I use it for light flipping, bass mafia loaded, casting spoon, and a rig. Super versatile
@mikeybalzz nice! I gotta try something new lol
All spinning rods, too.
I hate any reel that you have to open to adjust. For me id rather run a,abu black max than an slx
