As a fellow fishing reel addict I’ve been collecting vintage surf spinning reels since April of 2019 and have, believe it or not, over 205 reels. I’ve used about 40% of them because I love surf fishing. Most all of my reels were made before 1980 and date back to the 1940s with some early French Luxors. My favorite rods I’ve had for more years than you’ve been on this earth. They are mostly Offshore Angler Ocean Master graphite surf rods but I have some older Penn and Shakespeare ones and 1 new rod from Ninja Tackle but I’m not sure how much I like it. I’m with you about bail-less reels. My old favorite is a Penn 706Z. I have 2 big Luxor PUM reels as well as numerous Mitchell, Bretton, and Peerless Bam PUM reels. I even converted one of my Penn greenies to PUM. My fishing experiences don’t begin to match yours but I’m 68 and I’ve fished since I was 4. I love your videos and your wife’s as well. I personally think you both would be great parents! Be safe and well! -- Rev. Chris Jenkins (ret.)
With any outdoor hobby you can invest a fortune in it. Hunting, fishing, or anything else. I have a friend that is a die hard waterfowl hunter. He had to buy a cargo trailer to haul his decoys in.
Watching from Mozambique, tackle is crazy expensive here but the bug has bitten. I am came from zero to 6 rods fast and still looking at buying more soon
Great video!! Thank you for sharing. Great tackle shop and supporting local tackle shops. The owner really has it packed which is not cheap for him to keep all that inventory!
i agree my shimano reel 80 euro beats my 500 euro Mitchell one lols id never go back olso ive fished with old skool rods like glass rods those u could bend 180 degrees and flexeble as heck perfect for pikes and such. im in my 30s not much older then you still have rods from when i was able to hold a rod.
Vic, Very cool video! I watched Brook first with the fish scull glueing and then yours..Ladies first!! I think you two will continue to do super well in the future. I love your enthusiasm for life in what you do. Thank you both again for sharing! 😎
The thing about the Star slow jig rods reminded me of one of my ultralight lure rods I use for rainbowtrout and such in lakes and ponds. I've had that thing behing my head with the butt horizontal to the ground to land fish up to twelve, thirteen pound and it just doesn't give a flying f*#k.
If you like fishing with the lightest rods, check out the Black Hole USA “Tai Special” rod. It’s a ultralight rod (and I mean ultralight) but has caught a 100 halibut! Looks like it meant for stocked trout or panfish but it’s a BEAST!
Impressive sur, but I think you've earned it, continue to stay humble and informative and your success will continue to evolve and endure, God bless and tight lines.
Sick video, but the ocea jigger also has spool lock! You should also check out ocea EX8 BRAID, it's a bit pricey but you understand once you get it🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌
Wow I thought I was a pretty smart Angler I've never been able to fish saltwater so I don't know nothing about that but just watching this it's crazy all the different techniques from saltwater to freshwater I think I've caught almost every freshwater fish you can in North America but God I would love to go hang out with Victor and Brooke for a month and learn how to fish all kinds of different techniques or Adam on moving weight fishing I think it would be a blast commercial fishing that's something that I could do for a job I could wake up early and go to sleep late and fish everyday of my life I know it's a lot of hard work but it's not work when it's fun and obviously you don't catch stuff every time you go out they only make videos of them catching they don't make videos of them not catching cuz nobody would watch him but I would love to get out there with either Landshark Outdoors moving weight fishing or deermeatfordinner I live in New York we don't get to do too much fun stuff like that up here I wish I lived in Florida or Louisiana we could play with snakes Gators fish fish saltwater and freshwater hunt feral Hogs I would love that life
My Dear late Brother way back in the early seventies had a little area in the back of Tackle World in South Miami owned by Mel Shapiro, where my brother made coustom rods for Ted Williams and Boog Powell, and Many more baseball players, and more. It was called The Happy Hooker. He was dockmaster at Snapper Creek Marina for many years before he suddenly died from a heart condition he was born with. He was just 27 in 1980 when he passed, but his life was fishing 🎣. RIP Jim and I pray to be together again soon 🙏 Viva Cristo Rey 🙏
In my area we have a unique antique shop that specializes in fixed up antique equipment of sorts,.. cameras, instruments and wierd stuff, they also dabble with nicer second rods and reels, I got a couple really cool second hand custom rods, one has some dudes name on it, the other doesnt, sweet an unique though 🤙🪕
My family is frequently commenting on how many rods I have. I may not be a UA-camr but I'm going to show them this video and say: See, honey I'm not so bad. There are fishermen who have far more than me.
I remember when you first started out and you were against sponsors. I'm glad to see that as your channel grew and you and Brooke went full time UA-cam/Merch you changed your mind. From a business prospective, it just makes sense. I say this as a person who had a successful business that provided my family and I comfort through my retirement in 2017.
Reely nice collection, reely. I thought I had a lot of top dollar shit, and I do. I think you've got me beat tho. I'll show my wife this video, so she won't bitch when I buy more "stuff". It is a obsession, I have a nice saltiga collection and high dollar group too. I just moved out of florida this year, to Tennessee to fish for trophy stripers. so now I only fish for one species. STRIPERS !!!. and now, I'm only buying and using American made rods reels and tackle. Or high end Japanese stuff, stellas and saltiga dogfights made in japan Avet ,seigler, accurate abu garcias and penn internationals. St croix, lamiglas, seeker, loomis, cal star and a few customs. USA ONLY NOW FOR ME. No China or mexico shit. I don't buy from America's enemies. Great video. Subscribed
I’m looking at purchasing a conventional reel and would really appreciate your feedback as well as anyone who has fished with either I’m torn between. I’ve found an AVET MXL g2 single speed w/glide plate or the OKUMA custom blue 12. I’m in Oklahoma and primarily catfish but I’m in Galveston twice a year and would like a saltwater specific reel.
It's called TAS. Tackle Aquisition Syndrome. I have it too. With 3 times that amount of gear, but you're doing bloody well for a young guy. Be nice to see an Alutecnos in the mix, if you like your premium gear.
This is great, always like watching tackle and gear episodes! What brand braid you you prefer would be cool to see more tackle and gear related content! Keep em coming !
Hey Viktor, I heard you say you have interest in fishing in Australia. My suggestion is for you to reach out to Brodie Moss/ YBS Channel on UA-cam. He's got over 2 million subs. He sounds like a great guy and might be a great contact to use over there. He's got a great heart and story. Maybe you will find him a great pal to run with. He's on fire. I bet you and Brooke would get along great with him and his girlfriend and buddies. He's got a hole crew.
Really like his videos. But guy, if you don’t think we lack a pitching and jigging culture in America, come to the Midwest. It’s life. Catch and release and all that. Fly fishing.

I rarely ever fished artificial until I discovered slow pitch jigging last year. It’s lethal in the gulf out of Fort Myers where I live.
The price is unimaginable in Korea. Professionals are experts in fishing rods. Have a happy day ~^^
I love small mom and pops fishing shops like this always find a lot of things that big shops don't carry

So cool to see you go over your equipment again. Glad to see you do this every once in a while and talk about the past.
Great video!! Thank you for sharing. Great tackle shop and supporting local tackle shops. The owner really has it packed which is not cheap for him to keep all that inventory!
Most helpful video on UA-cam, for knowing what to buy for diff styles of fishing

It’s definitely addicting. I have two setups alone that cost $1,100 put with all my gear, other reels & rods, terminal tackle I’m easily at $2k
Awesome video! I’d love to see a side by side comparison of Stradic and Saragosa reels from you on another rainy day
I love when you do an updated arsenal video
This is awesome. I watched your $10,000 rod arsenal video earlier today and it came out in the perfect time
