It’s funny how many people want that smallest reel possible in hand. I have really big hands so I don’t really notice any reel until we get into the 200-300 size.
I have 7 Curado K's and someone talked me into a Daiwa Tatula 100XS. They said it was better than the Curado K.... Yeah, it's not.The Curado K is SO smooth. It's a man among boys in its price range.
The tatula sv is an amazing reel it is buttery smooth always. I also love the curados dont get me wrong. But we can take away how the sv runs and casts tiny baits. That being said id rather throw long casts on a curado dc
Shimano SLX, SLX DC, SLX mgl 70, Shimano Nasci, Shimano stradic ci4+ and Shimano Stradic FL. These are the ones I have and they're all great for the price. Not one complaint.
Ya I’m enjoying this man as much as a man can without things just getting out of line. Good content, down to earth, great editing, he’s a regular guy with great gear but not out of the world so he’s relatable. I’ve been looking for a new go to. And I found it. Thanks man appreciate you.
Dude, gotta say that I'm new to the channel and haven't been able to jump into those higher end reels yet, although I know there's higher, higher end reels, but I just loved listening to your take on each reel and the love you showed to each reel. Well done, Justin!
Those are gorgeous. I'm Rob Buchanan from Richmond Virginia, I swear by Shimano reels I run their spin cast quick fire as well as a curado. I'm right handed so I find the left hand return is more convenient, heres why, that split second of switching hands. If a fish hits on the drop you stand a chance to lose it. So in my opinion for right handers the left had retrieve is ideal because it eliminates that split second gap, creating a controlled rapid fire capability. I'd love to here your thoughts on the subject
I have two '18 Metanium's non DC and two Chronarch's. I have noticed that the Metaniums do cast better and feel smoother. Should be no surprise though since the Metanium's were about $140 more a piece. My sister asked me what she could buy the B'law last year for Xmas, I told her a Metanium, she got him one and he did break down and tell me at the end of this fishing season that it's the best reel he's ever owned. He does currently own two Chronarch's also.
Bro love the content and will always support you! Heaters Only! I can't believe I won I'm honored! That plano edge is sick. List seems legit, I'm looking forward to more 70 mgl videos with that fluke.
Just picked up the scorpion 2021 DC for 190$. The USD is so strong against the JPY right now that it’s incredibly cheap for the Id5 breaking DC reel. Super happy I got one. Already have the Curado K and slx DC
Ok I’m a beginner on baitcaster. I just got my first baitcaster question is do i need a baitcaster rod? I’m on the cheap side right know. I got the mega cast from a friend that got it from bass pro shop
Man I friggin love your vids!!! I live in new braunfels Texas and would absolutely love to fish with you! My little brother started watching your channel and loves it he has cerebral palsy and is soooo into fishing he just bought his first SLX DC! I know it would be his dream to fish with you! Much love man keep it rockin!
Help me out, slx dc or curodo k. The only reason I would want the slx is because I don’t have a dc reel yet but if the curodo k is really that good I might as well get the k.
Hey how do you feel about the 6 big bait bag for co anglers to bring as a soft plastic bag? To big and bulky or just perfect to pack full of heaters to have you ready on derby day? I carry a Simms tackle bag but I have My soft plastics separate and trying to find a nice way to bring them along with me?
I got a 200 near a year ago & use it a lot 8.5.1 , I pulled in a very near 5lb large mouth bass with out any problem. For the buck,, it is a very good buy,,,hands down
I have the Curado DC, SLX DC, Curado 150 MGL, (3) Curado K, and Sedona 2500. Time will tell but so far so Goooood! I want to try the Shimano Alberdin BFS reel.
what do you think about the new shimano crank bait rods,I want to purchase one but cant decide between the medium or the medium heavy, which one would you reccommend for a first crank bait rod
I know this is a old video but in red some advice on picking 2 new reels for fishing midsize swim/ baits I have a Megabass blackjack rod and a Levithan alpha rod need 2 Shimano reels to pair them with thank you
Had the curado k for about a month. After catching a 4.4 it started making grinding sounds while reeling it in. Took it in and went to the curado dc. Been good so far.
I was wondering which reel do you prefer for casting distance the curado dc or the curado 70 mgl? because I’m look to buy one of these reels buts it’s a hard one. Thinking about using it for t rigs kinda of a light but also kinda heavy not sure
Shimano ,G loomis for me. Great stuff. The core 50 mgl is sweet also. Tooooo many gd Shimano reels boss. Love to try a 6th sense crank, any suggestions for Pittsburgh smallies?
I just bought a Curado 201E7 From a neighbor New in the box still maybe I should have just ordered the k Series. Never used the shimano Bait caster yet.
I’m new to baitcasters. And I want the Curado K. But don’t know what gear ratio to get. The most type of fishing I do is jigs, tubes. Some times top water if I feel like it. And I’m starting to get into crank baits and divers. I have a 6.3:1 reel all ready. I’m thinking about getting it in the 7.4:1 and getting the slx rod with it because the rod I have now you can feel the seat of the reel flex when you have a fish on. If you have the slx rod tell me your rating on it please. What Length rod, power and action should I get to go with a 7.4:1 reel for jigs and tubes. I was thinking about a 6,8-7,0 rod length and medium-medium heavy power. And then I would put 30 pound braid on it. I, a big braid guy. Thanks
How does the 70 MGL do with ned rigs? I've been wanting to try that rig, but I don't use spinning reels since I went to bait casters. The problem is, the lighter line and rigs give me trouble with backlashes on a bait caster unless I just want to throw twenty feet away from me.
Justin my man...do yourself a favor and pick up some texas tackle split ring pliers, get the yellow handle and orange handles (2 pair total). I change a TON of split rings and hooks throughout the year and these two will cover from tiny to huge split rings and hooks. Hands down the best ones I have ever used.
Just got my first Curado 200k, with the Curado rod, caught my first fish with it today, on a Mexican Spice Clout. Heaters only! Congrats to the giveaway winners, sooo effing jealous.
Congrats on closing in on 20k, great list and good to hear that I am getting a Shimano Curado K 200 from the Big Guy in Red this year. Down side would be waiting for spring here in the north..
No. Take it back. I don’t own the Chronarch but that would drive me nuts. I like all my reels to feel the same. Only ones that are different are my 70s. Sorry that happened to ya man. Strange, but I’ve heard others say that too.
Let’s keep the train rolling, brother! 20k on the way! Been thinking about checking those Plano boxes out so I’m glad you’re reviewing and using them. They seem legit just a little pricey. Great video as always and thanks for giving back to the supporters, congrats to the winners!
I want to know on the scorpion DC reel if I set the adjustment to W or A and I don't put my thumb on the spool it is impossible to have a blacslash Thank You
Love the video 👊 Curado K is my number 1, 2 is SLX MGL, 3 is Curado MGL (IMO the SLX MGL casts amazing for a cheaper price), and then either the SLX XT or DC.
Man, I cannot get over how bangin that intro is. Congrats to Boone Stewart and Patrick Quick on winning the baits. I hope they enjoy them as much as I like my 6th Sense collection. I definitely would have had the Scorpion at number one. You're gonna mess around and make me pick up a Curado K.
I really want to get the slx dc but it’s kinda pricy for a 14 year old and I’m also looking for a good rod I could pair it with, without braking my price point
I USE THE Curado K, went fishing with a fellow who kept bragging about his Abu Garcia reel. I was out casting him by at lease 39 yards. The first thing he asked is weight of my bait, I was using the exact same bait as he was. He quit talking about his reel.
Justin. I need your help homie!! I just got the SLXMGL. Having issues. Spool with 15 Red Label. Figured I’d use it for wacky rigs and jerks. But the line is over running bad! Also the reel I got the spool tension knob real tight. 3 on 1 off. Max outside setting. Casts ok but it seems like the line wants to fly off. Any help please dude. All my other Shimano reels. Chronarch MGL. CK201, Curado DC. I let it knock a tad bit but I never have issues. I use braid to lead on those. First time using straight FC. ppl say condition abs stretch it. Do you recommend like p line or a different brand that’s easier to control??
Great Video my man! Exactly what I was looking for. I came across your channel researching the Scorpion. I have the Curado K, Curado DC & SLX DC. I was surprised at your #1 over the DC's but I can agree... That's why I have 2 of them ; ) Anyway, I subscribed and glad I found this channel. Now I need to find a Left Hand Retrieve Scorpion...
I just bought the slx dc. So far i really like it, I'm new to baitcasting so the dc system is helping me flatten the learning curve. I'll be the first to admit i suck with a non dc baitcaster. That dc tech is a life saver. I did really like the curado dc for all the reasons you mentioned, it feels smoother and just over all more well built than the slx. But i couldn't justify the extra 60 dollars for the curado
Hey Justin, I would love to learn how to use a baitcasting reel. Only have a budget for$100 so what would you recommend my first reel to get? Love your videos... Very informative and fun to watch. Keep "em coming !!!
The SLX is a great choice at that price. I would advise if you can catch a sale or use reward points to bring the price point down the SLX DC, it is awesome, versatile and great for a beginner
@@anthonymcgee8933 thanks, Anthony! That's a great idea and maybe my wife will pick up on some of my obvious hints for Christmas or my birthday next month lol. Thanks again and "tight lines" !
You can always use electrical tape to cover up that red tension knob🤣. Just got my 1sr K yesterday really looking forward to using it now. Agree on the Curado DC, then the SLX DC. Curado was my first, then SLX and I’m just as happy using it. Especially for the price. But the Curado is really nice. I ain’t mad at it.
My number 1 is the SLX DC, why? Cuz it’s the only one I got baby!
I ain’t mad at it.
It’s funny how many people want that smallest reel possible in hand. I have really big hands so I don’t really notice any reel until we get into the 200-300 size.
Imagine disliking this guys videos literally the coolest underrated fishing UA-cam much love to you my man 🙏❤️
I have 7 Curado K's and someone talked me into a Daiwa Tatula 100XS.
Congrats to the winners of the giveaways!!!! Shout out to you Justin Royal for showing your fans the love by doing what you do. Tight lines
Man I’m just stoked I made the list!! Congrats! I can’t wait to see you at the top like you deserve!! Keep them heaters coming!!!
Shimano SLX, SLX DC, SLX mgl 70, Shimano Nasci, Shimano stradic ci4+ and Shimano Stradic FL. These are the ones I have and they're all great for the price. Not one complaint.
Is there a crazy difference between the mgl and the DC
Didnt sneak one in on me lol stay ready so you ain’t got to get ready
Caught it too 👀 lol
What gear ratio do you recommend for the large swim baits? What is your Tranx/Lux combo setup? Ratio and Rod length? Thanks
The curado 50e in my opinion is the best for throwing weightless flukes.
My favorite reel I own
Ya I’m enjoying this man as much as a man can without things just getting out of line. Good content, down to earth, great editing, he’s a regular guy with great gear but not out of the world so he’s relatable. I’ve been looking for a new go to. And I found it. Thanks man appreciate you.

I have two '18 Metanium's non DC and two Chronarch's. I have noticed that the Metaniums do cast better and feel smoother. Not sure the deal...but chronarchs are ....wierd. the slx dc is actually better. In the opinion of a scrub.
I love my shimano curado. It was my first baitcaster I bought for myself. It's my baby.
I owned 2 slx models. The slx150 and slx dc 150hg. I really love this model. Really comfortable and smooth. Great videos man.
Bro love the content and will always support you! Heaters Only! I can't believe I won I'm honored! That plano edge is sick. List seems legit, I'm looking forward to more 70 mgl videos with that fluke.
Congrats on the win, man! Enjoy the loot!
Congrats on the win! I'm tickled to be placed in the #5 spot!
Congrats brother catch a big one
Just picked up the scorpion 2021 DC for 190$. The USD is so strong against the JPY right now that it’s incredibly cheap for the Id5 breaking DC reel. Super happy I got one. Already have the Curado K and slx DC
The Curado K is also my favorite. I own almost all the SLX line but the Curado is just a beast of a reel and is perfect for just about anything.
the curado k is also my favorite reel! my top 3 would be:
1.met b
2.curado k
3.bantam

Congrats to the winners, I was close for the super pack!

Ok I’m a beginner on baitcaster. I just got my first baitcaster question is do i need a baitcaster rod? I’m on the cheap side right know. I got the mega cast from a friend that got it from bass pro shop

So where does the Shimano Brushbuster fit in there ? Or did I miss that part ?
Hey how do you feel about the 6 big bait bag for co anglers to bring as a soft plastic bag? To big and bulky or just perfect to pack full of heaters to have you ready on derby day? I carry a Simms tackle bag but I have My soft plastics separate and trying to find a nice way to bring them along with me?
You have to try out the Shimano bantam!!! I promise you'll fall in love. It's crazy how sensitive and smooth it is!
Agreed
What rod do you have on it
I got a 200 near a year ago & use it a lot 8.5.1 , I pulled in a very near 5lb large mouth bass with out any problem. For the buck,, it is a very good buy,,,hands down
Literally first video watching of his and already one of my favorite fishing UA-camers
I'm looking to get a shimano reel for light to medium weight baits and dont know witch one to get so what would you reccomend?
Great Vid! My favorite is the Curado K too, its wonderful for all around use
got my first shimano coming in for the holiday season! curado K! Have always heard great things about them.
What is that string holding the reel handle in place on #5 rating reel? Where can I get one?
I have the Curado DC, SLX DC, Curado 150 MGL, (3) Curado K,

what do you think about the new shimano crank bait rods,I want to purchase one but cant decide between the medium or the medium heavy, which one would you reccommend for a first crank bait rod
Got the Curado 200 but I can’t put it past my Aldeberan and Metanium 2020 mgl
I got 2 of the Curado dc’s for 200 on tackle warehouse Black Friday. I think that is hard to beat for the proce
I know this is a old video but in red some advice on picking 2 new reels for fishing midsize swim/ baits I have a Megabass blackjack rod and a Levithan alpha rod need 2 Shimano reels to pair them with thank you
I got the curado k 200 I love it I caught my first bass ever. It is so smooth
Had the curado k for about a month. After catching a 4.4 it started making grinding sounds while reeling it in. Took it in and went to the curado dc. Been good so far.
I own 10 Shimano reels including the Curado 70 which I have 4 of those, but I gotta get the Curado 70 MGL, love those reels, great video dude👊👊👊🤘🤘🤘
Curious. Where do you get the rod socks that come to the handle??
i know this video is a little old but i would love to see some one do a tutorial on how to change out the handle on the scorpion for some whin grips
I’m debating if I should get the lews tournament pro speed spool or the Shimano curado k they’re both great reels but I can’t decide
I was wondering which reel do you prefer for casting distance the curado dc or the curado 70 mgl? because I’m look to buy one of these reels buts it’s a hard one. Thinking about using it for t rigs kinda of a light but also kinda heavy not sure
With the Currado and de Slv Dc we have 4 ajustement (1-2-3-4)
With the Scorpions DC we have 5 (1-2-3-4-W )
What is W and when we us
Shimano ,G loomis for me. Great stuff. The core 50 mgl is sweet also. Tooooo many gd Shimano reels boss. Love to try a 6th sense crank, any suggestions for Pittsburgh smallies?
Congrats on the lots of people that bought the heater murch
I just bought a Curado 201E7 From a neighbor New in the box still maybe I should have just ordered the k Series. Never used the shimano Bait caster yet.

Havent fished in over 20 years. I was just a kid and know I’m 34. Thanks for info in your channel
I know this is a little late Justin but what swimbait is tied onto your swimbait combo that thing looks 🔥🔥
How does the 70 MGL do with ned rigs? I've been wanting to try that rig, but I don't use spinning reels since I went to bait casters. The problem is, the lighter line and rigs give me trouble with backlashes on a bait caster unless I just want to throw twenty feet away from me.

Thanks for the advice man. 🙏🏼
Just got my first Curado 200k, with the Curado rod, caught my first fish with it today, on a Mexican Spice Clout. Heaters only! Congrats to the giveaway winners, sooo effing jealous.
You are the shizzzz... Congratulations man. Really enjoy watching you on this ride. You have definitely earned it.
Have you tried the shimano SLX? If so what are you thoughts?
Justin , hi my name is Robby , wanted to ask you what site is the heater zone on ? I’m a newbie , thanks
Congrats on closing in on 20k, great list and good to hear that I am getting a Shimano Curado K 200 from the Big Guy in Red this year. Down side would be waiting for spring here in the north..
Do any of your shimano reels have in and out play on the handles? Just got my first shimano reel, it’s a chronarch mgl and noticed the play!
I agree, price needs to come down in order to make them more accessible. Tough to pay that ticket and why I only have 2.
Not sure what they cost a year ago but I found them for under $30 on Amazon just now while Bass Pro is charging 60
Love the video I was just cleaning my Shimano curado dc and my curado k 200 I agree the curado k is smoother and quiet “ heaters only” !
I want to know on the scorpion DC reel
if I set the adjustment to W or A and I don't put my thumb on the spool it is impossible to have a blacslash
Thank You
No metanium dc or mgl, Chronarch mgl? those are my favorite. agree on tranx 200 though underwhelming , curado k is better for sure
The stuff everyone wants to see starts at 12:00
Love the video 👊 Curado K is my number 1, 2 is SLX MGL, 3 is Curado MGL (IMO the SLX MGL casts amazing for a cheaper price), and then either the SLX XT or DC.
12:00 reel opinions begin.
Huge fan of the Plano Edge but I’m going to convert to Buzbe a true modular storage solution. I do love my Plano Edge Jig box though lol.
Congrats Patrick.
I really want to get the slx dc but it’s kinda pricy for a 14 year old and I’m also looking for a good rod I could pair it with, without braking my price point
Congrats Patrick!
Love that terminal box. One of the best Plano edge products the only one I don’t got is the jig box but def grabbing that in the next few weeks
I think the jig box is my favorite out of the 3 I have. 👊🏼
Can the curado k cast as far as the curado dc?
What is the difference between the tranx 200 and curado 200?
Tranx is reinforced for salt.
Love that curado DC robot reel!
I’m a diehard shimano guy. Love my Bantam, Curado DCs, and SLX DC for the price is hard to beat
I can't wait for the restock, being a new viewer I've been binging your vids like crazy and loving them.
Sneaking up to 20k ❤️🔥 congratulations to the winners too
Great giveaways and thanks for the reel rankings. The Curado DC is the only Shimano I own, but I really like it! And need several more.
What other companies would you compare the 6th sense rods to?
Just picked up a Curado MLG 71 because of this video!
Sunline is what I use and prefer. I don’t have that specific reel so I’m not sure what’s going on. Hope you get it figured out man! 👊🏼
Agreed Curado 200 K is my go to reel for PNW Steelhead, Salmon, Bass and walleye 👍🏻🇺🇸
Bought my first shimano. Got the curado k! I got home and saw this video. Makes me feel good about the purchase lol!
Video starts at 12:00
I'm sold! Gettin the K today. Thank u brotha!
What rod with the k200 do you use
Great video looking to upgrade my reels and rods.I already have rods figured out the 6 of course been wanting one for a long time.
Congrats Justin on new subs. Keep them coming brother! 🎣
I agree with Anthony! Good luck and have fun learning! You got this! Thanks for watching.
13:50 is the actual content...thanks me later....
