I don't have anything nearly as challenging as this in my yard, but I do have some trees, ornaments and landscaping stones here and there. The scythe is such a precision instrument that I can attack individual stems among those obstacles without trying hard.
I keep thinking back through my past to find when I was as excited as this over a hand tool. It was when I was in my 20s and got a carpentry job and I got a professional framing hammer. It was 625 grams and I could drive 16 penny framing nails with one set and two blows of the hammer.
Scything is even better than swinging a hammer because it involves the entire body as I have learned from your channel. Futher, I can see in the grass itself that it appreciates the scythe blade. I keep mine properly sharp and use my whetstone often and the grass tips look cleanly sliced instead of that beaten and frayed look that comes from a dull gas or electric mower blade. And the sound is mesmerizing and incredibly satisfying. I cannot really describe it, but I surmise that anyone who owns a scythe understands. ✌😄
