My cat stoped drinking water, so I brought her to the vet and they gave her a pill to make her thirsty. Now she’s back to normal but I don’t want to have to even do that again. I want to find a more pure, natural way to help my cat and your amazing advice is what I needed to hear. Most appreciated. Thanks,

Cats should be fed wet food majority of the time. 70% of their water intake comes from food. Cats are desert animals and don't have the same thirst receptors as other animals. Avoid dry foods and kibbles. They dehydrate your cats and don't provide adequate water.

I've had my female calico for nearly 4 years & I haven't ever seen her drink water. I've tried everything from ceramic bowls to stainless steel & even plastic & a fountain bowl thats very quiet & cleaned regularly. The bowl is definitely wide enough as to not bend her whiskers. I've tried tap water, filtered water, even distilled & bottled spring water. I even tried the different waters with ice because she loves batting ice cubes around the kitchen & comes running when she hears the sound of the ice tray cracking. To this day I've not once seen her take a lick of water not even to lick up a few drops from the tap dripping at the tub or sink. I wish there was more I could do but I've tried everything other than building an actual running stream through my house. She also refuses to eat dry food & will only eat friskies pate, not my choice she was already like this when I adopted her from an acquaintance. Anyone else have a cat like this??
My cat also doesn't drink water. 😢 He's a male.

I had to come back to your comment the other night I saw my female calico for the 1st time in 4yrs. drink a few sips from the water fountain bowl I have in the kitchen. She didn't know I was standing there & when she finished I started cheering 😂😂

Same concern for my kitten, I have added water to his wet food, same issue doesn't want to drink kitty formula milk

i should do this with my girlfriend, she don’t drink much water.
My cat isn’t drinking water cause it’s cold now. I just add a lot of water to his food. He’s usually good about drinking water 😢

Mine is the same I've tried everything from wide bowls in plastic, ceramic & stainless steel, even tried using plates that had a bit of a deeper center just to see if that would change anything. She loves to bat ice cubes around so I've even tried putting a shallow bowl with ice & a tablespoon or 2 of water just to get her to at least drink a few drops off of her paws after trying to get the ice out of the bowl, & she still shakes the water off her paws before licking them. Also the only thing she'll eat is friskies canned pate.
