Purchased my 2022 Black Edition last month and have put near 1000 miles in about 3 weeks. What an absolute blast! Here in South Korea it's very rare and gets all the looks, which I do enjoy. But mostly it's just an incredible machine, the workmanship is undeniable, and I am happy to finally have a forever bike. Nice review! I absolutely recommend the bike. :) -Former Ducati Monster owner
Fantastic bike, don’t be put off by power or Fireblade heritage. It’s a doddle to to ride , riding position very natural and comfy and is so easily to live with as a daily bike. I own one and love it, it’s perfectly at home pattering around town at 15-30 mph, easy in traffic and filtering etc. it’s a super Uber smooth ride , and the quality of everything on this bike is outstanding. It gives you massive pride of ownership and lovey to own / look at / clean in garage - proper eye candy bike. Lots of people say certain bikes are too powerful- unless they are too snatching and jerky that’s rubbish, this throttle is silky smooth and so easy and comfy and the extra power gives you bags of torque and it’s still so smooth and comfy and stable through the range. Best bike I’ve ever owned - can’t praise it enough and I’m no racing snake - just go at my own steady pace and it does it brilliantly.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 Hi Nick. Terrific. Still running it in at the mo but it’s everything I hoped it would be. Comfortable, light, direct, quick, feels ‘quality’. Very confidence inspiring. It’s very Honda, it all just works. Like Blackbirds, VFR’s, CBR’s to name a few. I don’t subscribe to this boring Honda thing sometimes thrown about. I removed the long hero blobs (no track days so never going to use them) and getting the side stand down is now a breeze. Sounds very nice too, nice tone and growl from the air box. I invested in an Abba stand which works a treat BTW. I fitted an Evotech rad guard (highly recommended) and scottoiler but that’s it. Not changing anything else on it. Hope this helps.
The camera for the video is one of the finest quality that I have seen in a long time! An excellent review of the Honda Black Edition! I really enjoyed your review! Thanks and take care! PeaceFromTexas.
Very impressed with your city riding and the way the bike handled traffic. I like the petrol blue. I don’t carry pillions. For luggage I’d try and get by with a large tank bag and back pack. Parts, build quality, dealer network, reliability brilliant. Tail tidy and after market can. Very good, sensible review.
That's a nice piece kit there ER but god I do not like the silencers on bikes these days, apart from the silencer it's a great looking bike not a big Honda fan only ever had one in fact but I certainly like this one . good one mate : )
Thanks, it's funny you say that because I know its big but I personally think its well in proportion with it being a "stocky" looking bike. Thanks for your time watching again.
Great review, great bike, did look at this bike, but felt i was paying for cc i would not use , not a good enough rider to use all the power of this bike, but yes if i had the extra money , lol, normally like a bike around 100 bhp to be realistic , oh well i can dream !
Great review, not the bike I would choose but there we go. Nice to see you using the roads I use often and the kind words about Teignmouth where I live. Was half expecting you to be at Bridge this lunchtime where I was filling my face with a breakfast bap! My NC750XDCT doesn’t quite accelerate up Telegraph Hill as well as this 1,000cc bike haha.

Great review Exeter!! I don't even have to ask if you had fun, cause I know you did! 😂 I can understand that lots of city riding can be frustrating on that kind of bike. But I don't mind a bit I almost bought that bike.... almost!!
I did, mass respect for you owning a Fireblade. Even on the walkround I was thinking of you everytime I rode it. I'd really like to try a blade now, plus they are one of the best looking bikes on the market today!!
@@exeterrider Thanks Exeter!! Here is a tip if you are going to test ride a Blade...Do a few squats before you jump on. Sounds weird I know, but the foot pegs are higher than you think. Guys our age need a bit of a stretch so you don't get any unexpected hip cramps when you first jump on! Once you're on and going it perfectly fine!!
Great review, ER. I do like the CB100R in every way except that awful number plate holder, but I understand an aftermarket tail tidy is available. I wonder if it would be a bit short in the peg height for me. Perhaps my next bike?
Thanks Jim, Yes I remember this was on your list. You are very tall so I don't think this would be for you although you would enjoy it very much for sure.
Easily one of the best looking nakeds out there. My dealer had one and told me it took forever to get it sold. I have read the suspension is not good when tipping into curves, but then again it’s not a hooligan bike either. I’m really torn on if this bike is “the one”
Thought i replied to this, I'm sure you have had that before as well. Yes, it would have been like a day out at Alton Towers for you riding this. Even I henjoyed myself and a little devil would pop up on my shoulder and egg me on. You know what thats like.
Yes, that happens. Different bikes invite you to ride a certain way don’t they. This would probably get me in trouble, or hurt. Would have loved it 20 years ago 🙂
I do like my litre naked bikes and that's nice. Probably not up there on power with some of the European Super naked machines but it's all starting to get a bit silly with near 200bhp naked bikes.
I agree , I think 150hp is a lot but 200 really is un useable on the road but again some people like to have that power even though (in theory) they will never use it. Thanks for your time watching : )
Enjoyable video thanks ER. I have only ridden a litre bike once, a ZX10r and it was too fast (for me anyway). A 600cc bike is enough to keep you on your game and ample power IMO.
My way of appreciating bikes with high power or more importantly those bikes that beg to be ridden fast has changed in over 50 years of riding. Maybe its sound, acceleration, certain power trigger rpms that brings this out in certain riders. Admittedly I am one of those riders when I was sixteen and at almost 69 I feel the same way. What I remember at 16 and now those bikes help make me more dangerous to myself and others so the risk are higher. Now I ride bikes which can be ridden fast but can be enjoyed riding at or below speed limits. I rolled the dice a lot for many years but now I would say 95% of those need for speed is done on the trackand of those 5% I keep the spurts short and in clear areas.
Good post mate, I know a few people the same and what you say there shows the importance of track days. Not only that but you also learn a lot about yourself and pushing the limits in a safer environment. A track day for me would be highly beneficial to my riding experience. 👍
