Sorry, for the bad video and sound quality but this is the best I could do with Classic Who on short notice.
Tho most people won't probably watch this I hope those who do will enjoy it! Since the Big Finish livesteam I've become overwhelming nostalgic for these two. They're definitely my favourite dynamic from Classic Doctor Who.
PS. I'd love some Big Finish recommendations featuring these two! I've gone through all of their Main Range stories available on Spotify and now need some recs outside of that's on Spotify.

The Doctor and Ace was the duo that stopped me being a casual viewer of Who and turned me into an obsessed fan. (Shame it was just before its hiatus, but it’s back now so all’s good).
Everyone always goes on about Tom Baker and Sarah (and I do love those two), but I think Ace and McCoy should get more recognition than they currently do. Seasons 25 and 26 had some real gems.

Sometimes I wish there was a proper exit for Ace but other times the lack of it makes me feel like she travels with 7th forever. Wouldn't that be nice, right? For a show that tells you everything changes and everything ends. These two are somehow frozen in time.

Awww. These two look so cute together as a duo. You made me want to watch the classicWho.
I like Ace in this video. She gives me the impression of a confident, courageous and independent girl. a bit like Clara.
the video is obviously perfect. manages to get involved, smile ... perfect. I loved the choice of the song and how every scene fits.
I think every Doctor Who fan should at least try Classic Who. It's not for everyone that's true but at least give it a go. Classic Who has pacing issues, low budget, bad special effects, over the top acting (from some actors), damsels in distress and just like in New Who there's a lot of muck to go through to find those special moments/episodes. But if you ever do decide to check out Classic Who let me know and I'll give you a list of episodes that are in my opinion worth checking out.
Also if you don't mind listening to audio dramas then I'd recommend Doctor Who Big Finish audios. They have the Classic characters and actors, better stories and they don't have to worry about the budget so there's no "dated" quality to it except for maybe in some dialogues. And they even have their own original characters who are awesome!
I love Ace and she is all of those things you mentioned but where Clara gives of a mature vibe Ace is a teenager. She's 16 in fact when she starts travelling with The Doctor. It's only throughout her travels that she grows.
Also 7th is in my opinion the darkest Doctor. He plays games with the universe, especially in Big Finish almost ever story you listen to is his master plan from the very begin, you never question his morals and that what he's doing he's doing for the right reasons but it's *how* he achieves his goals where it gets questionable. He uses people, hurts them, he hurts Ace, he expects people to go along with his madness without question. The only times you see him vulnerable is through his relationship with Ace and when his grand plans fail and he doesn't know what to do.

@@JulaMisiak you could've just said 7th Doctors final season before cancellation was full of Ace moments and proper lines sharedbetween each other that fixed all of earlier who's pacing issues. That camera quality and effects were finally showing improvement every other episode as they finally learned to manage the budget.

Glad you liked it! Ace starts out as a rebellious teenager. She's 16, feisty, talks back, always carries explosives with her, LOOOOVES blowing shit up, hates her parents, most of the time she calls The Doctor "Professor" and it's usually when something really serious is happening when she calls him "The Doctor" , she has a teacher&student like relationship with the Doctor. He looks after her. And throughout her story she grows into a young woman. Also because Ace never got a proper exit in the show (as well as, to best of my knowledge, in Big Finish) it makes me feel like she and 7 travel together forever. They're sort of frozen in time which is lovely for a show like Doctor Who. They're definitely my favourite dynamic from Classic Who.

Aw, this video is so perfect for them!! Seven & Ace are my fav doctor/companion team. They worked great together and Ace was hands down the most resourceful and helpful companion. I love how well you showcased their friendship in this video and that ending made me both smile and tear up a little. A shame they didn't get more adventures together on screen.

Thanks for the wonderful tribute, these two are the best. For 7 & Ace Big Finish stories I really recommend Colditz, Forty-Five and Live 34 as standalone stories, or all the stories with Hex for a longer arc, from The Harvest onwards (including 6's audio Project: Twilight and Project: Lazarus which has both of them). A Death in the Family is the culmination of 7 and Ace's weird, twisted teacher/pupil relationship imo, it's amazing and heartbreaking.

Thank you for the Big Finish recommendations! I've listened to Colditz already and it was great, I'll definitely check out the rest of the stories you've mentioned. I've also listened to Project: Twilight and Project: Lazarus for the 6/Evelyn dynamic which I love so so much as well. I'll definitely check out the rest of the arc!
Only other pairing that came close to this dynamic was 12 & Bill (and I still think Bill was the Doctor’s actual biological daughter).

From the original run of doctor who,i find this ALMOST fitting..............when the show first started (before they met Barbara and Ian,mind you) it was the doctor and Susan, when the show ended it was the doctor and ace. But what I think REALLY could have been interesting is that the bbc could have "rebooted" the original story and have a Barbara and Ian of that era follow ace to an area where the tardis was hidden (since whatever time they were from they would have been surprised to find a girl with knowledge outside of their realm of understanding, after all she is from the 20th Century) and from there they themselves could have met doctor seven and the whole thing could have started all over again (so to speak)
