the brake system is hydroboost, the thing you pointed at is the electric aux motor that supplies pressure for the hydroboost when the engine is not running
Hey, honey, where'd you put the kid? I could swear he was in the crib and now I can't find him or the crib. What??? The guy with the hat took him??? Well, this means WAR! He'll never have a clean windshield again!
I was at a school once in Tampa for Cummins and they said that Cummins motor’s never leak and if they did just to spray paint them yellow and print CAT over them.
Albuquerque used to have the Motor Vehicle Dept. long lines. The bitching got so loud that they got a few private companies to set up alternative businesses to do all the services instead of going to the government office.
I like a red truck. When you putting on yellow caution cab lights and business name with phone number so 400,000 subs can all call you while your resting...............
That was a nest of a Carolina Wren. Notorious for building nests in weird spots. Keep checking that area, they can build a new nest in just a few hours, and they just don't quit.
Try a -32f with -58f windchill cold start. That's what you call COLD. wrapped a tarp around bottom of my truck and used electric space heater with trucks block heater also plugged in. Still didn't wanna start.
Quick lesson on this cat engine it does not have glow plugs it has a pre heater just before the air goes into the intake on the side of the engine and also the brake booster is hydraulic runs off of the power steering pump like your duramax the electric motor is for when the engine dies while driving so you still have brakes to be able to stop
Caterpillar also made a block heater that screws into the block just behind the oil cooler. It doesn't keep the engine at operating temperature, just warm enough to ensure that it will start. The block heater uses about 150 watts when it is on.
Forgotten video understood, we saw rays video fixing the fuel leak cause by a loose fitting. Also the a/c belt fixed using prybar’s with lube and the install of the new serpentine belt. However, the visibly uncovered check engine light and the alarm are both on for a reason. I’m sure they would make for good repair content and we all like Rays interesting troubleshooting skills.
@@wesgregg6451 yes air conditioning compressor belt, Ray had a hard time stretching the a/c belt over the cats vibration dampener. As a heavy duty diesel tech it was funny watching ray stretch that belt when the dampener comes off to change that belt.
I like this truck, I am looking forward to see you work on it. I always had really good luck with GM products - just drove the heck out of them and never left me stranded. Love the red color!
Hah! Not likely, it's Florida after all. Probably slip the DMV guy behind the counter a taco or 2 and you're good to go. Have you SEEN some of the vehicles Ray has to work on? Most of 'em are a rolling accident, waiting for a place to happen.
4 days is not long to sit and not be started. Working offshore the oil field our vehicles sat for a minimum of 2 weeks without starting and in some cases over 32 days. Rarely saw one not start.
@Rainman Ray Off Duty nothing better than your video intro logo aka your face to paint on those doors since you are planning a paint job ppl would definitely love it !!
Watching you work is fine, but I'd rather work for you! Wife Unit's first brake job went much smoother than mine over 10 years ago. You definitely show a level of patience that would've encouraged me to become a mechanic instead of the current windy path of work choices I current make.
it is a hydro bust and the high pressure line that goes from gear box to hydro boost is impossible to get replaced so you might want to get one made or find one in junk yard
Multiple videos today nice.
I confess, I forgot to post this like two weeks ago.

50 degrees is a cold start in Florida?? 😂 Now thats some funny shit right there.

@5:59 ...But you didn't do the "gah-tisch!" sound.. How do you know the brakes are gonna hold the vehicle?!
The leak ? There it is.😵
The brakes are hydraulic assist from the engine
The electric motor works in emergency mode in case the engine dies or you lose hydraulic pressure
Ya know what's missing from that truck? A good CB radio!
Rays over here warming the go plugs when it's 50. In the frozen north, we only do that when it's below 30
