Not sure if this is still open, but just in case: Here's a rough overview of what the German parts are (you weren't missing much).
First segment: Some very coarse background on the open air.
Fan interviews (answers are mostly non-telling): Asking fans how long they have been around, how they got into the band initially, why folk rock became popular again in Germany. That guy showing off his T-shirt at 1:30 explains how he did a course in silkscreening and did that shirt himself. Final question is about the band being more
recognized for playing small places, so what's the expectation for such a big open air? Answer: It's an excellent live band, why would they be worse in front of 20K people as opposed to 400?
26:16: Introduction...27:45 "You're together for 14 years now, that's a long run. How do you let steam off in case you're getting on each other's nerves?" (now that's a really smart question...)
28:07 "Mark, welcome back! You were out of the band for a while - what did you do in the meantime?"
28:42 "I believe you were the only one who had a clause in his contract that allowed you to do solo work at any time - is that true?"
28:58 "You played with many famous musicians like Phil Collins, Rogel Daltrey..."
29:19 "Stuart, you're very involved with campaigns on social issues, like caring for minorities...do you think you can really make a difference with that?"
30:53 Band history - nothing you wouldn't know from other places...also includes the band losing its record deal, before they have their "comeback" with THE BUFFALO SKINNERS
1:04:21 "Currently, there seems to be a comeback of folk rock in Germany. I know you are very much into folk rock, especially Stuart: You have a preference for Irish and Scottish folk, right?"
1:04:56 "Sometimes folk, folk-rock and especially your music sounds a bit depressing to me"
1:05:32 "Would you describe Big Country as a very emotion-oriented band?"
Final interview segment: How did you like Big Country, what did you like the most, did you miss Mark (No, but good thing he's back), what's so special about their music.

Just finished listening to The Buffalo Skinners Cd that I bought as a sealed copy a few days ago. Very solid album from start to finish, no fillers at all. I am a bit surprised to see how underrated that album was, I guess they were kinda sidelined by the Suedes and Blurs of that time (1993) Great to see a gig from that period , thanks for sharing.

one of the greatest rock bands ever. I really miss Stuart, even after all these years. At the time Buffalo Skinners was one big return to form for me after their previous two albums were just average in my opinion. Buffalo Skinners is on par with Steeltown for me.

Another great gig. But why is Bruce’s guitar turned so far down? Can barely hear it in the outro of “Rose” and the section after “Brucie!” in Wonderland? As always, thanks for sharing these treasures. I think a big reason that I love Wonderland is due to the fact that it’s fun hearing what gorgeous guitar Stuart will come up with in that middle section.
    RIP Stuart x

Another amazing surprise and great Big Country treat! Always immensely looking forward to the utter joy of watching your BC uploads. This one definitely is another true gem! Can not thank you enough!
As for the German translation - I tried translating a part of it.
    Interview BC (26.16)
Intro: BC Active for 14 years now. Brief introduction, Tony, Mark, Bruce and Stuart.
    Question to Bruce (27.49)
14 Years is a "bloody" long time together for a band. How do you manage to cope with eachother? How to reduce stress when things get tight?
    Question to Mark (1) (28.08)
Mark welcome back to the band. You have been away for a few years, what have you been up to during this time?
    Question to Mark (2) (28.42)
I believe Mark that you were the only one to have a clause in your contract that allows you to pursue solo projects outside the band. Is that true?
    Question to Mark (3) (28.59)
You have played with many well-known musicians; Phil Collins, Roger Daltrey..
    Question to Stuart (29.19)
Stuart you are very much committed to social causes. You're one of the very few people in England who are also actively involved in social commitments for minority groups. How are you dealing with this? How does it really work? Can your social commitment make a difference, particulary in Britain?
    Question to Stuart (2) (30.12)
Dylan (Bob) once said you can't change the world by one song..?

BC "drunk and uninspired" era c.1989-c.1996. If got some songwriting inspiration back thereafter, sadly were out of steam physically. bloated face: alcoholism. retires from exhaustion. lost soul. don't see it as sad so much as rock'n'roll lifestyles inevitably wearing people out. BC were inspired and original writers c.1983-c.1987 but I don't think they could figure how to follow up The Seer (finest moment in studio). 1:22:15, sham rock'n'roll lifestyle songs...

    • @BC1000Stars
      @BC1000Stars  3 роки тому +6

@@owenmcgee8496 not sure “drunk and uninspired” is fair much less correct. Stuart wasn’t touching a drop in those years. His songwriting was always strong and focused, it’s what others (record company involvement/interference) did to those songs that had the most effect. Once they were off the hook and allowed to be themselves again in '93 with The Buffalo Skinners, the results spoke for themselves. Stuart never played the “rock 'n' roll lifestyle” - he was brought down from within by his own demons. He is still one of the greatest singer/songwriter/guitarists of our lifetime.

    • @owenmcgee8496
      @owenmcgee8496 3 роки тому

@@BC1000Stars saw on a BC site programme c.1994 (pre-WTLF) and Stuart wrote on that something like "I almost killed myself with drink recently". To these ears: BS: big sound, but weakest songwriting from SA along with 1st half of WTLF and half of NPLH (non-album tracks there were better/more inspired). See Stuart Rockpalast 91 and you don't think he was sold on rocknroll lifestyle? Big diff from '89. Don't think he had "demons" so much as never comfortable/happy with showbiz pressures (read Jobson's autobiog?) and fact that from '89 onwards media/record company/everyone (incl.Jobson) was saying BC's day has past, or we're gonna make it so. TABC '90 compilation was meant to "write them off". SA didn't want that. Drowned his sorrows. Lost control. By 91 he looked out of control. No matter. I don't care. Still think he was/could be good songwriter til end. Otherwise I wouldn't be listening, or wishing the demos were re-released in a better package than 9 deleted rarities albums. '85-'87 demos in particular: great band sound. maybe MB leaving on drums in '89 broke a momentum or something. by '95, not '93 to these ears, momentum back. remember liking eclectic a lot when it came out, despite being covers. Suspect BS sound=what Watson wanted BC to sound like. But for songwriting: SA far from his best/a low point.
