Mere fortune lead to my premier encounter with BC at this edition of the Pinkpop festival. Discovered Big Country back in 1983. I was 19 and the internet wasn't a thing. Here I am, nearly 57 and watching Big Country on UA-cam. Felt Stuart's loss hard back in the day and it was years before I could enjoy the music again. Thanks so much for uploading this video.
Anyone else here love it when he asks (at each show) if anyone there can understand what he's saying? I love it, esp after binge watching BC videos so much lately :) This crowd was tough, but they were jumping by the end! This show was actually on my birthday and I was 11 yrs old. Still love this band today, now at 50, and wish so much Stuart was still with us❤ He was one of a kind.
I'm a proud Welshman when I walk the dogs in the rain these are the guys I've got playing in my 👂's.. and to open up with my favourite song of all time!! Thank you BC. Hold me through the darkest night!! The City is on 🔥!!
Thanks for uploading, didn't know that the full concert was aired, have the tape form KRO's Rock Tempel somewhere though. 1st time i saw them after buying The Crossing a year earlier, great performance. Went to a show at least once of each tour they did in the Netherlands. Saw them a couple of years ago in Arnhem with Bruce Watson's son and the also magnificent Derek Forbes on base, although the new singer was decent and i enjoyed hearing the songs live again after so many years, i still had a sad feeling seeing them play without Stuart Adamson.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live many times between 85 & 2000. Always a treat to listen to their superb musicianship. Mark & Tony must be one of the best rock rhythm sections ever.
Apart from the ‘glory days’ of the early/mid 80’s when BC were filling the big arenas and you didn’t get much choice where you sat, I always used make an effort to stand as near as possible to Tony at concerts as the obvious love for music he is playing is amazing 💙
The other two are jumping around quite a bit too. Maybe not quite as much cause of those effects pedals. Tony had just one chorus setting to worry about. Also as a bassist I might be smiling that much with Mark shooting drums that often sound like fireworks up my ass.
Fantastic! Superb! Amazing! Mind blowing! Such a talented bunch of blokes who could really do something different and still be good at the same time! Thank you for posting!❤️🤗😎🎸👍🎼🎶⭐️

One of my favorite bands. I was visiting London in 1986 and found out Big Country was in town. I wanted to go see them live but they were performing at Brixton Prison.

You can really hear/see the "punk rock" part of Stuart in this concert, the whole band, with the strange sound of less Stuart's voice and guitar, and more Tony's bass and Bruce's guitar. Just from an artistic perspective, it feels very punk rockish, the way the video is done.
