Thank you Steve. My car is now warnings free from warnings about things I had fixed. Makes this woman happy she was able to fix it herself since the guys that did the repairs didnt know or take the time to find out! Yeah!
Great video! Thanks for the heads up. Worked great on wife’s 2014. Just a little different but once i reset it, turned it off and on again, it worked like a charm. Key to the 2014 is to fully engage the engine and do it while running.
Thanks very informative you explain things like I would explain things lol and then some extra aka that you can always ad another sensor to the passager side and such thanks!
I've replaced the break pads and sensor and my warning light is still saying that it needs changing. Does the warning not automatically turn off when changed or do I have to turn it off myself?
I have a 2012 Mini Cooper countryman. I can get to the reset section. But after it resets. Nothing actually happens. It still shows that I am due for a brake change. Can anyone please help me
@@gailsmirl2049 I'm in the same boat and found this video trying to solve this. I just replaced front and rear pads and rotors. I was able to reset the interval for the front, but not the rear. (Still shows 370 miles to go.) Did you figure this out?
@@lytleric I'm currently having this issue. Had my rear brakes replaced 2 weeks ago and the red rear brake light + brake light just came on. Reset everything else but rear brake sign + brake indicator stay red and displayed. Even after turning on my car several times. Did you figure it out?
@@jilliannicholl5144 Yeah, IIRC I think I figured out that the wear sensor actually is a two-stage. So once it wears just slightly, it triggers the warning for a mileage countdown. Then when it wears the rest of the way, it says to replace now. When I first looked at the sensor, it didn't look worn to me, but once I replaced it with a new one, the warning light went away. Upon closer inspection of the original sensor, it was in fact just slightly worn.

Just what I needed! Thanks man! I think we even have the same 2011 white cooper countryman
on my 2012 countryman all4, I had to hold both buttons on the tach down to get into the service menu.
No luck on my ALL4. Can’t seem to get into that menu.
@@randolfpearson1490 it’s took a little longer than 5 seconds, maybe 10 and in my 2014 the engine had to be turned on to get to the menu as well.

Worked on a 2020 Countryman. The screen is slightly different but same buttons and procedure. Thanks!
On some models you will get "Reset unsuccessful", when this happens, turn off the parking brake and re-try the process.
Does the sensor have to be replaced

Thanks,
Can the same sensor be used for the front and rear or are there different sensors for front/rear?
@@Steve_Does_Stuff thanks for the info!
