Did you ever start an engine so powerful it literally blew your hat off?
1st bike sounds like one of those wheels you spin to get a prize 😂
Lol true that
It has a bad case of collapsed lifters and piston slap.
Lol
Your right
@@vector6977 i think the reason it was so ticky is because it's air cooled. liquid cooled engines have a liquid buffer for mechanical noises
The 908 really is and was an awesome racecar. The flat 8 it has is pretty sweet sounding.
Oh, yeah, it is indeed!
Porsche 917 is just the best porsche ever made.
ouh yeah
*best car
917 was best in video and it's close to what Steve McQueen drove in Le Mans
I Am Sekou its true, you gotta drive it to really know.
The Subaru and Porsche boxer 4 engines put a arrow in my heart. NICE!!!!
You do know that the Porsche 912 has the engine from a Porsche 356 which was from a Beetle.
@@louiejonesponation No
@@flatboxer Yep, the Porsche 912/356 engine is a modified VW Type 1 1600 engine
@@louiejonesponation nah, thats full diff oil pump and headers...
The yellow R1200S sounds like a wet fart.
agreed haha
I SMELL IT ITS STINKING UP THE VIDEO😂😂😂
Any fan of flat engines out there? The Porsche flat-8 sounds wicked and best to me? What's your favorite?
Mne sa páčilo to subaru a mimochodom super video
the Porsche 4.0 B6 for sure !!!!!
Straight pipes on a 4.9/5.0 Ferrari is like bacon for my ears :)
subaru boxer 6
EG33, duh! Is there even any doubt?
At 6:56, Porsche's VTEC kicked in yo! :P
1:15 starting my weed wacker
917 and variants had up to 1100 bhp in flat 12 confiquration. Not only the best sounding, just the greatest car the earth has seen. This car put an end to the Ford GT40's rein at Le Mans and changed all the rules of motor car racing
damn the boxer 8 sounds awesome! never heard a boxer 8 before.
omg the subarus sound the best. jesus
Patrick Todd Subaru sound the best ? It’s serious ? 😂
Go listen Mercedez benz c291
Porsche 917k
Alpha Romeo 33 SC12
Porsche 935
Ferrari 312 PB
ew exotics
YuriMasterRace u prefer a mediocre car?
Pierro they’re not even on this list you pillock
The 912 came after the 911.
The 912 was Porsche's affordable sports car before the 914.
And it used a nicely tuned Beetle engine.
Should have had a beetle with a stinger exhaust pipe. Great video though, love the channel!
This guy knows whats up ^
fricken agreed. They sound like odd, high reving, american v8s
But it’s a beetle a car for old women lol 😂
Love yr vids , keep making them ❤️
Subaru best sounding :p
best by heaps, those unequal headers takes it to another level.
Sounds like a monster fart for me, porsches sound way better and is more action packed imo.
Love your videos!!
You forgot the Briggs and Stratton I/C Twin, boxer engines are excellent for lawnmowers! lol
and they sound better than the bmw twins lol
lawnmowers ! didnt they power ww2 airplanes lol
Suburu Boxer gotta be my favourite
Subaru no suburu:)
the 917 sounds insane :O
Nice Video !
I love the subaru sound
Absolutely Lovely!
:)
Who buys a plane because it's good sounding? lololol
good video
Nobody, but planes have also good sounding engines... imagine those aircraft Rolls-Royce engines
Yes, you are quite right! I live in southern Ontario near the Warplane Heritage Museum. A Lancaster bomber flies around quite a lot in the spring and summer...the sound of those 4 Merlins is just incredible!!
oh man, those V12 from thoseSpirfires are just nfql;jqakdnfoqajndiqjnwdf
oh baby
Visio thanks for these great informative videos I subbed keep up the good work and thanks again
I thank you for your words
Nice! My father had that BMW motorcycle from the beginning. I remember that sound.
EZ30 sounds awesome as well, high revving sound from a subaru
very good!!!
I thin the first one sounded like an overpowered lawnmower
Boxer flat 6 yeah boi
6:55 Vtec just kicked in yo
My favourit Video so far
I got it. Thanks
that second clip of the 908 (maybe it was a 907) sounds like a 4 cylinder and it's so pleasing to my ears.waaaaant
you missed probably the best boxer motor of all Alfa Sud 1.5. pops and bangs superbly.
very good excellent wonderful
Aww man the Porsche 4.0 Boxer-6 engine is one of my favoruite Porsche engines of all time! Absolutely orgasmic!
The Porsche 912 used a VW type 4 engine, same engine that was used in the 914 and later VW buses. The aircooled VW engines actually sound really nice with a little work done to them, a set of decent dual carbs, a decent exhaust and a cam/valve spring upgrade really wakes em up and they sound great to boot (think if that Porsche 912, just louder and higher revving). Honda Gold Wings and Valkyries also sound great with a decent exhaust on em.
The regular 912 had a 1600CC VW Type 1 Engine (Type 616/36 Europe, Type 616/39 USA). It was the Porsche 912E that had the 2 Litre VW Type 4 Engine from a Porsche 914 and Volkswagen 411s/412s, I believe that the Air Cooled Type 2 T3 had these engines.
the Porsche v12 was my fav, loved it! try mayby best sounding 2stroke?
Haha 06:21 thats at the Solitude Revival, 10 Minutes by car from my home :D
Never felt compeled to leave a comment on a UA-cam video but having owned an alfa romeo 33 p4 I can safely say that it is still one of the best sounding boxer 4 engines ever built.... significantly better sounding than the scooby and almost as good as the carrera 4s I once had the privilege of driving....
That 4.0 911 engine is something else man really....what an engine! I love cars and bikes, gotta say never liked the beemer boxer lump noise. For those that don't know the reason Subaru has that distintive warble we all love is unequal length manifolds. Cool Vid VR - keep em comin...
ポルシェ908 これは凄いですね♪ 貴重な映像をありがとう~♪
OMG...the 917, what a brutal force of detonating beauty! raw, untamed, monster of brilliantly harnessed domination...the drivers of this car should be praised for their ability to keep it under "control", if we can even call it that! lol
The 907 is pure driving pleasure with no assists
Damn I didn't even realise that the Testarossa is old enough to be museum registered in Finland.
Haha, funny. But yeah, it is very old now.
flat 6 and 12 sound mint.
I like the Flat12 in the Testarossa.that is a good sounding engine.
No Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 TT 12 or SC 12 flat 12 race car or AlfaSud boxer 4 or Alfa 33 Boxer 4 ?
2 years ago I went to the glen.. out of Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Cadillac, corvette, bmw, mustang, etc. the 4.0 Porsche’s were (hands down ) the best sounding cars on the track.. I was very surprised at that.
that porche is my fave at the start
5:45 difference between the old and new water cooled 911 engines is DFI, it is an entirely different enigne from the very old and outdated mezger block, which sound even better. 2016 gt3 cup car is the final production car with the mezger engine. btw even all the old air cooled 911s used this block. 912 exempt, built a 912 engine myself, its actually a just a volkwagen engine in a 911 chassis, very fun to drive.
912 has just become my dream classic Porsche outside the 356 Speedster.
yay i heard that particular porsche gt3 in person, it was louder than a mercedes gt3 racecar and the koenigsegg agera r
I used to have a Wartburg (2 stroke 3cyl saloon) that sounded exactly like the car at 8:07.
1:15 sounds like it has a gassy bird trapped inside it. 🤣
7:00 sounded like a K20 ktec after it kicks in
Hunter Tomlin it’s pretty much 2 2.0l vtecs put together
How the heck did you left out the subaru eg33? The best sounding 6 cylinder subaru out all of them.
The Porsche 917 sounds angry...I love it...
How abut the Lycoming IO-720? It sounds about what you would expect an air-cooled 720 cubic inch flat 8 to sound like.
The 512BB and 917 engines don't sound like flat engines to me; they sound more like V12s. Which, in a sense, they are.
If you do a part 2, could you consider the air cooled Porsche flat 6 turbo? It sounds amazing
Yup
Cool :)
Missing the awesome Porsche 4-cam engine (Ing. Ernst Fuhrmann creation), which equipped all 356 Carreras, the 550 Spyder, the 718 RSK and some 904's, in all his variations, from 1.5 to 2 liters and 180 HP.
Yeah I was going to point that out too.
oh yeah and the 917 5.0 b12 damn phwoar
Sorry if you commented about this already - the last two engines are listed as V12 layouts. Might want to annotate that it's meant to say flat 12.
EJ25 2003- to Present and Ej20 1989 to 2013
was looking and hoping youd have them, but to now avail.......was hoping youd add the 930 carrera and the chevy corvair. both engines sound mean when built....specially the porsche's. talk about boxer rumble, that thing has it in spades XD
can someone please explain the whole 180 degree v12? over being called a boxer engine? I just couldn't get it
Nice documentary :) , but what about ABARTH genealogic tree ?
06.56 VTEC kick in yo😂
porsche 4.0 b6 is my favourite. omg listen ahhhhh
I will nominate the Napier Sabre as the best sounding flat engine. It was 24 cylinders in H-form: a flat twelve on top of a flat 12 with sleeve valves. At maximum boost it produced 2,400 hp and powered both the Hawker Typhoon and Hawker Tempest. For cars, I'm happy to nominate the Alfa Romeo 33 flat 12, the Ferrari 312T, the Ferrari 1512 and the 1972 Tecno F1 car (though it was a terrible car). Outside that, the 908 and 911 GT3 but there is a new Porsche flat 8 in the works.
I really miss there Alfa Romeo 33 1,7 16V engine
I know I'm going to hear it, but I have owned a number of Corvairs, you know the Chevy, with a flat six cyl. The lowest powered has one carb on each side, then they had a higher power with two carbs on each side, plus they also had a turbo engine. That had from 145 ci to 164 ci with 95 hp to 180 hp. I had a four carb that was modified to make 200 hp. That engine had headers with turbo flow mufflers and had a great sound. But even the lowliest 95 hp with easy to setup duals and turbo flow mufflers had a nice sound. Everywhere I went the kids had no idea what they were, but lived the sound.
The clearance between the rocker arms and posts needs adjusting on the r90s. Most people think its tappet noise but it is endfloat on the rockers.
the flat 12 in Porsche 917!!
Holy shit The gt3rs sounds amazing but that twin turbo flat 12 on the 917 is godlike. Appropriate for the best car ever made.
That was an NA 917
Omg that porsche
Like a Ferrari 458's v8
Amazing
More like McLaren flat-plane V8 to me, but yes, pretty much that. I'd say even better.
Make a best sounding motorcycles video please
VTEC kicking in at 6:55
best sounding of motorcycle pls hehe
Yes... but cannot say when
Easy, Honda CBX 1000 lol. But that would be a great idea for another video.
Yup, it is
and pgm v8 motorcycle *concept from australia too. that engine sound make me eargasm :D
I’ve been thinking of trying to copy Honda’s J32A1, but into a flat 6 just to see if it sounds different, and swap it into my 2000 TL.
Dude, I can't believe the Ferrari 312T family didn't make it into your list.
Of course the 4.0L Porsche metzger motor from the GT3 is probably one of the best sounding engines ever made of any type :)
6:55 ... I EXACTLY thought about 2 Fast 2 Furious that golden Evo....
3.40 the hat flew away
whats your intro tunes called?
I hope they make the Porsche 901, and I hope it had their 7 speed manual engine with the rumored flat-8 engine
All of this hate for flat engines. :I They sound fantastic.
Oh yearghhh baby...next
Oh maaaan the GT3 RS is the best sounding car ever
Holy Crap, Batman !!! That BMW motorcycle at the beginning sounds like a metal box full of hammers!!! That can't be right!!! 😦
I really want to put a EG33 flat 6 in my forester.
No small 1 cylinders like the 150cc YCF? That engine sounds fantastic
Mate, a single-cylinder isn't basically of any layout - not a V, not a boxer and I don't think it is a inline engine either. The single cylinder seems to be one-off.
+VisioRacer Next, best sounding single cylinder bikes/engines
+mac thomson amazing idea, i think he should do it, 2 strokes included too
+K2 Yes 2 strokes, they don't only smell good they sound good
Where's Gumbals video of the IPE GT3RS
What is the song at the end?
2 cyl flat engine bikes. oh my lord that is awesome.
Flat 6 Plane? well why not.
Porsche flat engines sounded amazing, didnt know they made more than 6 cyl flats. Damn Porche need to make a flat 8 turbo wagon with unequal lenght headers style like old subarus or something holy shit that should sound absolutely mental.
Ahhh yes Subies.
at 6:00 the Porshe 4.0 is he using paddle shifters ? I dont see him shifting gears.
Cesar Flores porche autos are actually really good
Speaking of boxer engines, the Subaru BRZ in the intro uses a boxer 4.
Have you considered doing the Flathead engines? In my opinion, the Ford/Mercury Flathead V8 produces an outstanding sound.
Are there many of them? I have only little of knowledge about them
+VisioRacer Cadillac made a straight 8 that was flat head Chevy made several flat heads Harley Davidson has a couple good flat heads ford has many Chrysler and dodge brothers had some as for British cars idk what all has flat heads on that side of the pond
Okay, so I guess I should look into that
+VisioRacer Cadillac had a Flathead V8 too. That's what a lot of the older motors were. It's a very simple design. The Ford Flathead V8 was very special though. It was very modern for it's time. I mean 90 horsepower isn't crazy, but in 1932 that was more than enough. Clyde Barrow (Bonnie and Clyde) was so impressed with the car, he personally took the time to write Henry Ford a letter praising the motor. They would use a V8 car for their getaway. Basically, he would rob a bank with a standard four cylinder Chevrolet or something around the lines of that. Bonnie would be waiting a few miles away out of the city in a V8 Ford Model B. Clyde would hop into the Ford and escape. Also, they never bought their own Ford, Clyde stole them.
If you need some videos of the Flathead V8 I have a few of some stock ones, and a supercharged 325 HP Mercury truck motor. The car was a late 1940's Bonneville race car.
no citroën flat 2?
forgot the Alfa Romeo flat 12 of the 33 sc 12 ? Ferrari 312 B2 . Alfa Romeo 4 cilinder boxer engines etc
