The Theme Building was built in the 1960's and has had various restaurants and cocktail lounges. It is the symbol of LAX and we all hope that it will be reopened.
California is a third world state. They're not capable of building large infrastructure projects anymore. In a competent country, this people mover would have been done in 1-2 years max but in communist Mexifornia we're looking at 8-9 years for a tiny people mover. (And I'd be surprised if the California HSR disaster survives Trump's term.)
@westside213 Hahaha... your ignorance is breathtaking. I'll leave you with this. California has the largest economy of any state in the USA by far, and the fifth largest economy in the WORLD! Get a clue.🤣
Just saw on the news today that LAWA has started test runs with the train cars on the LAX People Mover. I can't believe it will take them over a year to finalize the testing. I'm still hoping they open it in late 2025 instead of January 2026.
The people mover should be completed by 2044. The construction process moves at a snail pace. In Japan, they would complete the project 5 years ahead of schedule.
96% complete, but no workers to finish the remaining glass panels. It’s just sitting there with no testing. What are they waiting for? Metro allocated another $750 million in cost overruns. Another year when passengers must deal with congestion at LAX. Next holiday will be the same. It won’t open until January 2026. Any bets on another delay?
thank you for making this video .
No problem 😊

That sounds awesome! Is it still open now?
Not open now due to all the construction, but hopefully it will be open again by 2028
Thanks for the sneak peak, I can see the layout more clearly now.
But, opening in '26? Jeez.
I know, right?
To the general public, but full testing will be happening in late 2025. If everything goes smoothly, it could open sooner.
@@mrxman581 That’s great news! Hopefully, it will open sooner. 🤞

By the way, if you don’t like the audio changing when you zoom in, you can disable that by disabling stereo audio recording in camera settings
Thank you for letting me know! I’ll try to see if this will work in a future construction update (those have lots of zooming!) thanks for watching!
@ yep absolutely!
Greetings from Toronto!
Greetings! Thank you for watching and seeing some of LA!
So The Opening date is still 2026
Yes it was delayed due to contract issues unfortunately, thanks for watching and commenting!
More money to be made so let’s delay it!!! Waste of our money imo!
When I moved to Los Angeles thought I’d be closer to the beach
When I moved to Los Angeles
thought I’d be a surfer king 😔
It’s never too late to learn!

This is why you never go full leftist.
Been flying in and out of lax for 10 years this thing still not done.
It took a decade for them to build the second traffic level in the 1970s.

Those guys who own the ugly concrete parking garages all around LAX must be pissed that cars will no longer be necessary to reach LAX.
One of the worst airports in the world
LAX is the worst major airport in the US.
