My favourite thing about Siberians is how much they love playing fetch and peekaboo around corners. My least favourite thing is how I will never go to the toilet in private again.
@@lambsky379 personally I haven’t had any issues, but I know of some people that have had issues with allergies, my advice is to contact a breeder that lets you visit the kittens to see if you have an allergic reaction
I'm in Russia and I've got my Siberian from the city dump site. He was a stray kitten of about 10 months but friendly and neat. Never a problem-maker but a great companion. He walks on the leash and does his needs outside like a dog. And when he feels like going back home, I just let him go without the leash... he has no fears to enter the elevator together with the dog.. but no stranger humans, please 😁
Mine is the same. He goes for walks on a leash, camps with us in the mountains, loves dogs, kids, and other cats. He has no fear of loud noises. I have never been so intensely loved by an animal before. He follows me everywhere and is the cuddliest animal I've ever known. He is very talkative and chirps and trills constantly. However, he does not like strange humans at all! He's a one person cat.
My family got a Siberian cat because of my allergies. He then turned into my best friend and cuddle buddy. We named him Casper because of his beautiful white fur and because he is so friendly! We have had him for around 7 years now. I moved away for college so he is with my parents and I miss him so much!
Hi, may I ask how severe your allergy is and how you reacted to the cat? I'm allergic but love cats so Siberians could be my only opportunity to have one
@@martasemperboni827 they r still allergic for me :( however less than other breeds for sure, i.e. british cat doesn’t do it for me concerning allergies however siberian is okay 🙂 they r the best though, highly intelligent, don’t hesitate to write to me if u need some help
My 15 yr old Siberian died in May this year. He was everything and even more that you said. I miss him terribly. He took interest in everything I did. ❤ He loved music too. He strummed on guitars too. He was a rescue of my son’s friend that he adopted that when his friend couldn’t keep because of his living situation that my son took off his hands and brought him home . All cats are cool but Russian Siberians take the cake. I’m still grieving his absence. Ours was very social too.
My Siberian sits absolutely MESMERISED by the television. And yes he likes music videos too. They are very clever cats. Sorry to hear he has passed. Hope you get another soon!
@@RS-xx9ve - Mine was so curious about tv too, but especially other animal UA-cam videos with music and animal noise backgrounds. He was such a pleasant pleasure to have in my life. His passing Is like worse than losing a best friend. He was interested in everything. It’s been 8 months and I still can’t think about getting even another cat. I think he is just not replaceable.
I thought it might be useful for me to post my experiences as an Asthmatic, Allergic Siberian owner. I went for a while to the breeders house to test my reactions, and everything was fine. However, a week or so after we brought home our kitten, I started having a lot of severe breathing problems, so we had to keep her out of the bedroom at night, and I used my inhaler a lot as well as going for walks. This continued for around a month, but after a while my allergies calmed down a lot, and three years later she is never off me and I am the only person that she will let groom her. Don't get too disheartened if you experience an allergic reaction at first. Siberians produce LESS Fel-d1 protein, but there are still varying amounts that your immune system will need to get used to. Getting a decent vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to remove allergens from your home is definitely recommended. It still stings and swells more for me when I get scratched (very rare, and always my fault), but in general I don't even have to consider my allergies anymore.
@@jaashley28 I think there is a very good chance that this might happen for you, but it could be less, or more severe than my experience depending on how bad your Asthma/allergies are. I have actually just got another Siberian kitten (now 14 weeks old) and my asthma has gotten worse again. Seems like you have to get used to specific cats, so i'll try to remember to let you know how long it takes for my asthma to calm down again. I have started using a preventer inhaler and everything seems to be going much smoother than last time.
THANK YOU! I NEEDED to see this!! My lady is coming home in July. After meeting I had 0 reactions but I’ve been worried that bringing her home might be another story. Thank you
Thanks for telling your experience! I have a little asthma and allergies all year round. I had a Himalayan/ Persian growing up and my allergies were unbearable. But I did keep her for her long 20 yrs of life! But after she passes I haven't had a cat since... I'm hoping to be able to add a cat to my life again though, this breed gives me hope it will be ok (:
My Russian grandmother's Siberian mouser by the name of Zhanna was my introduction to cats when I was a kid. She was the most stand-offish cat ever but once she accepted you into her circle of trusted people, she was the most loving and loyal cat ever. She always slept on my bed and I would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with her curled upright next to me. Once, when she had kittens, she decided that the safest place to go into labor was right on my pillow, while I was sleeping. I loved that cat, and I like to think that she loved me back.
i adopted my Siberian cat from petsmart not knowing he was such a great breed. He is always gorgeous, not shedding much hair, healthy, PLAYFUL (even at 15), chatty, affectionate, dog personality…and hard working…to catch flies or any insects :) he is active and not lazy at all. Best cat for dog owners too since they are acting like a good dog.
I knew nothing of Siberian cats until a stray adopted me 4 years ago. I was looking after my frail mum at the time and we were both convinced she was sent by God to provide relief during the difficult time we were going through. She's my only companion now and is not like any other cat I had experience with. She's terrified of strangers but very devoted to me and takes any opportunity to get on my lap. It's true what they say about their dog like traits and I can't recommend the breed highly enough.
I absolutely love my boy more then anything. He's 27 to 30 pounds..weight shifts..he's turning 5 this year. I wish we could show photos on UA-cam. He's black mostly..brown highlights during summer..but he has a cream puff on his belly. Pure white patch. Its so cute..❤❤❤❤
I have a syberian. She is a smart cat who talks a lot and always toddles after me. Her fluffy gorgeous long hair is her charm. She is my precious family member💖
My Siberian is the sweetest boy. He’s so smart, understands a lot of words and commands, plays fetch and is just so playful in general. Has dog like traits in that regards. So much personality and curiosity, he’s not aloof like some cats. He adds endless amounts of joy, laughter and love into my life. He’s my little shadow, Love my Finnigan so much. ❣️
I’ve had 3 Siberians - 2 out of the 3 have had separation anxiety. I highly recommend making sure yours has an animal companion. I have also discovered they can get jealous, but they’re also loving and social
I have 2 siberians, 1 male and 1 female, usually the females are more jealous and possessive and can turn hostile on the male cat and chase him out of my room as she wants me to give attention only to her. I've trained her to not be hostile and bullying the male cat. Now she doesn't chase him out of the room if both of them are in the same room as me, they have co-exists better, playing seek-and-catch with each other daily and even at times sleeps besides each other. I'm a happy cat Dad 😍😍😍.
Started out with 2 gorgeous (aren't they all!?!) siberian teenagers when their parent couldn't keep them (free)! We had no idea how lucky we were! My husband, who was normally very allergic, seemed to do ok. He was not an animal lover but he loved those 2! They are the doggiest cats I'd ever met...never met a visitor they didn't like. I lost the brother, Babar, from an accident about 2 years ago. Before she lost her brother, my female Callie was fine if we went away for a week or so. We had a cat lover coming in daily. After Callie lost her brother, my husband died. Some months went by. I went away for about 4 days. When I got back, she was at the door and let out the most painful wail I had ever heard. I vowed then that I would never do anything that would make her suffer like that. I haven't!
I realized my Maine coon cat was not Maine coon but a Siberian and she was really jealous of our dogs that when we weren’t around she would bully them. Sadly she passed two years ago but she had a big attitude that was my favorite part about her. Her favorite person was the kind that gave her the least attention. She has an interesting personality and taught me a lot about being brave. I had her since I was 8 until she passed (21)
they are the PERFECT cats. We have had many over the years and they are the most amazing cat breed, so dog-like, affectionate, attentive, and caring. One of ours plays fetch, one of ours snuggles every night. They have a tri layered coat with a deep underlayer, so they do mat easily. I recommend brushing them every other day and bathing once a month, and not letting them go outside. LOVE them!!
So we have quite a few Siberians, every single one of them prefers to cuddle, besides one. The one is a female, we hhad her -her entire life, but she always squirms aways and just perfers to be near by but hot hel. My biggest peace of advice is to manhandle them, pick them up, hold them even if they are showing they are uncomfortable because it gets them so use to your hands and being that close to you :) Better to start young too :D
@@aniab4306 Nooo, actually we 1 male and mostly females :) my SO and I own a cattery, so we see a lot of them! I do find in my experience females are very cautious while males are more aloof, however, both enjoy cuddles! just make sure kittens stay with the breeder for at LEAST 12 weeks since the breed develops slower it will help them with aggression and separation issues. Also the means can be hard but getting 2 at once is really really great they will still enjoy human interaction but they will play with each other and cuddle for life :) we are keeping 2 of our current litter and they are so cute together always playing and cuddling (one boy and one girl, both interested in our cuddles equally!) in general the breed is cuddly, however, each cat has its own personality and I find some cats can be stand-off ish, and not want to be on you but still near by, so getting a sib doesn't guarantee they will want to be smothered, but most sibs are affection-driven and if you show them nothing but pets and love they will flock :D hope this helps :))
@@ALTabula reallyyyy thank you It helped me so much😍😍❤❤❤what do you recommend about gender?male or female?I mean from all aspects....and If I can buy two of them is it better to buy them from same gender or on female and one male?and is it ok if I don't buy them in the same time? For example buy the second one year after the other🤔because it's mg first experience I don't think that I can handle them in the same time. And another question...do you know about ragdolls?I can't choose between ragdoll and sibrian. Sorry for to many questions🙈🙈
My daughter just adopted a four year old female Siberian and she is the best cat of all. Chloe is very affectionate, cuddly, playful and has great intuition. Chloe is a beauty and I wish she were mine! My cat is a Himalayan female who, I believe, was traumatized in some way before we received her. "Ellie" is very skittish and runs at the slightest things. She does not get along with other cats so I cannot bring another cat into my house without hurting Ellie further. She is getting more affectionate at five years of age than as a kitten. I adopted a senior Himalayan, "Mr. Darcy" many years ago. Darcy was incredibly affectionate and acted very much like a dog. We only had him for five years before he passed away and I miss him every day! I love cats more than most people. Anyone who says that cats are standoffish never raised one. They are beautiful little creatures and add so much to our lives!
My Siberian during winter, in my village house goes for a walk for all the night when it is about 30 degrees below zero😂. Morov, he behaves like a bodyguard 😂. He knows that somebody comes to before knocking at my door. He may even attack someone who behaves too familiar to me to his mind😂. He is really big about 10 kilos😊. Very friendly to me but not for people he doesn't know. Really great cat!
My SIberian Kitty girl Pynches is my baby, she is the child I never had! She's a SUPER CUDDLER who loves to play fetch so her nickname is KUPPY a crossbreed of a kitten & puppy! She is my only family in my life & I love her with EVERYTHING! I'm SO blessed to have her.
just learning this is what one of my cats is. she was adopted at about the age of 8 and I had no idea what she was. now they're my all-time favorite cat breed
They are a magical breed, I got 2 of them. A few days ago I was very sick from the flu, both of them comes into my room and check on me many times throughout the day, they are very loyal breed and love their owners and cares for them when they are sick. Both of my Siberians aren't very chatty, but they chirps and tribbles when they talk, and also they want to be near me always, especially my male Siberian, if I ever close my room door, he will make noise and scratch my door to let him in 😂. Although both of them are equally affectionate, male and female siberians have slight difference in traits and personality. But I love both genders, as it gives me different experience as a Siberian lover and cat parent.
They do shed! A LOT! Twice a year you get the big seasonal coat change, which means you will really need to like vacuming and combing your cats. They are perfect in character provided you give them enough stimuli (toys, outside walks, playtime and multiple climbing posts) and they can't be alone for too long. Even if you have 2 or more, they really are very attached to their owners. If you are allergic, please test for an allergic reaction at the breeder you want to buy one. Reason is the allergic reaction can vary per bloodline/ genetic combination. Best thing to do is visit the breeder a couple of times just to be sure.
Love mine ... he's like a little puppy that grooms itself! The video is correct in that they will follow you around but are completely docile and playful. I'm still amazed that as a 15 lb cat (which is small for a siberian male) can get into the places he gets. They love high places.
I have two Siberian cats and they have honestly changed my life as well as the life of my boyfriend and parents. Boyfriend and I got the first girl Siberian because we needed a cat boyfriend was less likely to allergic to. She was distant at first but quickly became a talkative, sweet and hilarious part of our little family. A lot of people without kids tend to personify cats but I can HONESTLY say, Evera (the Siberian girl cat) has a LOT of moods and is kind of high maintenence. She is a sensitive cat and we need to give her lots of reassurance. But she is mostly in a great mood despite a few health problems. We brought her son (from a litter before she was fixed) to live with us last fall. He was offered by the breeder and we just thought what the hell. Her son (we named BEANS) is an absolute JOY. You can't help but be happy around him but he really has a dog's energy. If you don't play with him for hours every day or let him get his exercise, HE WILL MAKE IT KNOWN he needs that. He not only made Evera happier, he is the most dog-like cat I have EVER been around. He fetches, he cuddles, he is fiercly loyal and sweet, attuned to us when we are sick, and both cats are somehow able to gauge who needs love most. If they are at my parent's house, they love on mom when she is sick. And I'm telling you BOTH cats think they are guard dogs! They have tried to actually protect me from harm many times and they are VERY vigilent when they think someone is too close to the house, or there is a knock at the door. They are seriously protective!! They have even growled and Evera, when a guest tried to come at me yelling, BIT them and chased them away!
I adopted a sick little kitten from a shelter. She was so skinny. Now she's healthy and has a beautiful thick coat. I think that she is a Siberian, she's also a Torbie. A special cat for sure!
I have a cat named Ginger, and she looks a lot like the pictures I see of SIberians. She is 16, and she still can jump long distances. She is the sweetest cat I’ve ever had. She’s a “talker” too. She will “pat” me when she jumps on the bed and wants attention. We love her, and don’t want to think about any day without her. We keep telling her, “You MUST live FOREVER!” Since she’s 16, we may get our wish!!!
These cats are the best cats on earth I saved one and had him for 3 years. I loved that cat so much he was the nicest and most loyal cat I ever had in my life. When he passed it took a part of me
I miss my Siberian cat. She was from da hood and had a big personality lol. She was a good protector but will defend herself from our dogs being aggressive with her. She seemed more human in her personality than a cat. I know she’s guarding the entry way at the rainbow bridge 🌈
Just learned my cat is a Siberian. She is the BEST CAT EVER! I love her tons. Her name is Squeaks...she is fairly talkative when you speak with her and has the thickest silkiest coat and most beautiful eyes... 🐱 And she has the most dramatic personality ever...
Got a Siberian male kitten 4 months ago. Haven't owned a cat in nearly 30 years due to severe allergies. In most homes where there is a cat, I can't stay more than 15 minutes or else, I'll end up under the respirator at the hospital. But this cat, no problem. He sleeps on the chair literally next to my bed and I have almost no symptoms even if it is winter and windows are closed. From my perspective, they are truly hypo-allergenic. That's what I like the most about them but what's also nice is that it is a big, majestic, fluffy breed.
We have two of these.... they are awesome cats!! whenever the kids are sad or sick... the cats will be right next to them... they will sleep near them as well...
I recently got a Siberian kitten, he is 6 months old now and is very precious to me. He has a few flaws like jumping onto my face, scratching, bitting, and just going crazy and chasing me around but he is usually a really cute cat!
They are the sweetest cats ever!!! My young Male was very loving and would run from the other side of the room up my chest as I am leaning back and rub his face against mine.
I love Norwegian Forests and now Siberians, that floofy pretty but rugged looks and gentle disposition, and Birmans, and Doll Faced Persians and Munchkins and.... just too much floof to cope with! Sweet meows, trills, house clowns, loved to be groomed, a paw of support, how amazing. And low allergenic, even better as I adore long hair cats but I wheeze and sneeze with many.
I have 2 siberian cats, they are Neva masquerade. Brother and sister and they are just as told in this video. The price is lower in the netherlands, i paid 1100 per kitter, but they usely cost around 900 euro’s. These cats are simply amazing.
Well, it’s because it is a special breed of cat ( pardon my english, i am dutch so english isn’t my strongest language ). I was a dovg only person but these two Made me a cat person to. They are silly, loveble, kind to anyone and just a joy to have around 24/7. Besides the hair offcoures, that really blows. But hé, you gotto love them anyways 😉
I had 2 siberian cats. The first one was affectionate like a dog. She slept with me under covers, even on my neck, lap and so on. loved playing, fetching and following you everywhere. Unfort she died at 6 months...the second one is colder, she doesn’t like to lay on your lap but she follows you, sleeps next to you, she’s very talkative and needy but in a more distant way, she loves to play hide and seek . She’s a delicate princess.
We adopted a Siberian because they are hypoallergenic. They are gorgeous cats. They are also curious and loyal. It is important to consider how they perceive you.
We took a cat of a sister's cat's kittens here in Russia. His mom was not Siberian, but a normal, adopted from the street cat. He was bushy and turned out to be Siberian cat. Looking exactly like a silver-coloured cat in the video. Super playful, very charming cat. He likes to follow me everywhere and always begs for food. Funny thing, he had blue eyes which changed to green after.
0:43 looks just like my cat. I didn’t know she was a Siberian cat. She’s very loyal to me, and hates everyone else. Doesn’t like other cats either. I honestly have had my kitty for 12 years and didn’t know.
You just described my cat. Didn’t like any other pet we had. Didn’t like the idea of “friends” but she was also good at putting our dogs in place for acting out lol
I'm getting siberian next year. I can hardly wait. I have one mainecoon left. I lost my other mainecoon due to her arthritis. Hoping those Siberian babies will cheer me up. 😻😻🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾❤ I live in the uk in Scotland.
My mom found a little stray kitten in her backyard and gave him to me. Pretty sure he’s a Siberian or mix, but he’s so sweet!!! Hes not super cuddly but he follows me everywhere and also loves having full conversations with me :P
We have a 2 year old female and just brought home a 13 week old male. These are the most amazing cats I've ever seen. When my female Winter came home, she would always cuddle on my left side, it turned out that I had cancer on that side under my arm. Since the moment she came into my life she has been my best friend. Our new baby boy Nimbus is such a love, and so brave. He and Winter have already bonded after only 4 days, and I cannot express how lucky I feel to have these amazing creatures in my life. Even my great dane loves them! We were very fortunate to have found a wonderful breeder, which is the most important part. If the cat is too inexpensive, I would be wary. They are still pretty hard to come by in the US, so a lot of scammers are out there.❤
I still can't believe we found a tiny Siberian kitten at the pound 6 years ago! She must have just arrived, because she was unclaimed and SO CUTE, with huge eyes that were practically turquoise. She was a Christmas gift. She started with a normal name, but naturally her name changed Poofins within the first week, for obvious reasons 😁
Have one; have a local breeder. Besides the nearly-hypo-allergenic aspect, cat was described as very puppy-like... I've found both to be true. Our cat is affectionate, wants company, wants to play, really good temperment.
I have two siberians for over ten years now. It is not necessary to give them a bath. They love to wash themselves and always smells fine. Otherwise: I love de clip you’ve made❤
I was adopted by a feral Momma cat and her spicy feral kitten♥️ They look exactly like Siberian Forest Cats, but there aren’t many (if any) here in Northern Ireland so I guess they just look exactly like them. Beautiful, cobby, fluffy cats with tufty Lynx ears🥰
I got my beautiful, orange boy by ‘accident’ from a breeder advertising him as a Turkish Van 🤭 ..erm, yes, I know ! It has though taken me ‘5 years’ to notice !! He’s ‘pointed’ meaning all his paws are white, white around his whiskers, main, underbelly and the bit I love most, at the tip of his tail 😻 He (Chip) always follows me around and lying with all his paws up when he’s asleep !! He is always curious and, worryingly, loves the outdoors but has so far, always come back. He loves his food and is very chatty. He loves being petted but ‘grizzles’ when I pick him up for a cuddle. Chip is without doubt everyone’s best friend on my street. I’m sooo lucky to own him ❤❤❤
I have a Siberian since 3 weeks now, he's almost 4 months. He's sooo shy, though he's gotten better with time. He loves to play but HATES to be pet, well let's just say he hates to be touched lol... let alone be held/picked up
My family had two Siberian cats (Nikki and Lexi) and they were the sweetest most loving kitties we have ever had. Unfortunately, they both passed within 3 months of each other and were only 7 and a half years old. Our hearts are still breaking. One had a heart condition and the other had cancer in his digestive tract. Maybe someday we'll get another one or two. Siberian Cats are like angels from Heaven.
My siberian always comes to me as I'm arriving from work and always walks me to the driveway as I leave. Very respectful when I eat. Sleeps at my feet every night. He also smells very good.
I suspect a stray wander up is a Siberian. He certainly fits this and is color point with very pretty blue eyes. He’s young yet. He was extremely matted and I had to have him shaved. But he appears to be a gentle boy that doesn’t want to fight.
Our Siberians are so amazing. Our female is a little more reserved, but our male follows us everywhere! He especially loves to wake us up like a 7 year old on Christmas morning. Both love to hop on the couch during movies, snuggle themselves in-between me and my spouse, and knead while purring.
Ahhh! Y ou have mafe me fall madly in love with yet another cat. Like Maine Coons and "Weegeies" they are stunningly beautiful. I would love to have one of each of them, but I cannot in good conscience obtain them. I can only get cats from shelters. The truth is I have never met a cat I didn't fall on love with, so actually any cat is alright with me. My problem is that when I go to a shelter, I want to take all of the cats home with me.
I had never had a cat that didn't come from a rescue. We got very lucky rehoming two gorgeous teenagers. I wouldn't want a cat now other than a Siberian. Already I'm feeling guilty at the thought actually buying one.
Nice video about Siberian cats. Siberian cats are wonderfully sociable and talk a lot. On what basis should cat be washed every 6 months? No cat needs to be washed unless it has messed itself up. I have two Siberian cats and I have never washed and they smell good. If you take your cat to shows, then wash before the show.
That's what breeders recommend, to help when seasonal coat changes. And yes there are some breeds that require baths: Sphynx and most of medium/longhaired cats, to help with matting and to wash off the accumulated oils. Ask breeders for more information.
You can get pet wipes which get the excess oils off and dirt, any smell etc which can be a compromise, as a kid I really didn't like giving our cat a bath, he was normally so placid but he'd become a ball of fury, and even treats didn't help, soothing talk, even relaxing music, catnip etc. I'd be covered in scratches, so we gave up in the end and used pet wipes. So much better, my arms were thankful lol.
There are two Siberian cats near my work a brown -grey female who sat on my foot and put her paw around my foot and a ginger orange male who purred and rolled on my foot.
I have a Neva Mascarade Seal Siberian. My kids and husband are allergic to cats but not with our Siberian. What a joy 🤩 in our lives to have founded such a car race
Never knew my cat beans was Siberian. I always thought she was pet tabby or ragdoll. We do Christmas cards every year and she isn’t really like any of these cats. I grew up with about 40 cats on a farm and she has the most attitude of any cat ive ever had. She doesn’t like cuddling at all.
Dudeee after seeing that price I'm glad I got my boy Simba for free off Craigslist😅 Odd story but he loves playing fetch and has his special stick. When I come home from work he rolls across the living room floor. He's kinda mischievous and spazzy. I love him to bits and he don't know nothin but be cat 😸
Can you tell I have a Siberian!! The best cat you will ever adopt, sweet, kind, Super Smart with a dog like personality. The are very calm but when they play they play hard making you laugh at their silliness. Very inquisitive 🧐 I love my Beijinho as photographed.
@@aniab4306 They can and love to sit on your lap but not for a long time. They have thick fur and quickly overheat. If your room temperature is close to freezing they will stay of course ;-)
I've had my siberian since 2016. Got him from a shelter when he was about to turn one. I've had many cats growing up but he is the most affectionate cat I've had. He's especially extremely affectionate and sweet towards me. When he was younger I taught him how to come when I called for him in russian. My parents and I are full-blooded American but whenever they would try to get his attention most of the time he just look at you like who cares. Sometimes he would come to them when they called him but most of the time whenever I called for him in Russian he comes running
I noticed my cat’s strength and vitality began to deteriorate after cat vaccinations. I had always avoided his jabs until the last two years and he started a health decline after cat jabs . I don’t know what’s in their cat jabs but I won’t ever do that yrly cat jab thing again because my Siberian suffered before he died 😢😭😭😭😭🥺🥺😭😭😭
I adopted my 9 year old Siberian from someone who was moving and needed to get rid of him. I’ve never heard of a Siberian until then and let me tell you these cats are sweet! I have an 18 pound male Siberian with tipped lynx ears, he has bad dander in his fur and needs to be brushed often and he has had two ear infections since I’ve owned him (he was an outdoor cat before I adopted him) I know it can be controversial but I do shave his fur down for the summer since I live in Texas and he likes to enjoy walks on a leash. He loves it when his fur is shaved and gets zoomies like a little kitten when he does! But be warned the fur will never grow back the same I originally did it because he had a huge wound on his back that needed to be cared for and since his fur was already done I decided to keep doing it especially since he seems to enjoy it a lot. Huge poops! And if the butt isn’t maintained you will have poo and pee on your poor kitties behind so be prepared to do some handiwork but I totally recommend this breed! Don’t be afraid to adopt an older cat mine is my best friend!
I think my cat is a siberian mix with british shorthair. He looks exactly like a siberian and matches the personality to the tee. So I'm assuming his dad is one. Luckiky he was pretty cheap too 😅 his mom's dad was just giving the litter away and only charged for the the amount it took to raise him. Best decision of my life. He is the best cat ever and absolutely beautiful. I'm so excited to watch him grow.
They are hypoallergenic! I am horribly allergic to cats as well, but we tested my allergies at a Siberian breeder and have now had our Siberian for over a week and not a single sniffle! 😸
we've had 4 siberian cats and while they all had huge personalities, they were all distinctly different. that's what i like about them. i wouldn't recommend them as single pets, they should always be held in pairs. they need a lot of attention and don't do well being left alone at all. so it's best if you are willing to centre a lot of your life around your cat. if you like being out and about all day working and pursuing hobbies then i wouldn't get siberians. if you work from home or you spend a lot of your free time at home they will help you with every chore/ activity. but i have to say all 4 of ours have had an impressive nasty streak if they feel threatened or bullied. so you need to be sensitive to their moods and give them space if they need some time to calm down if they are upset or in a bad mood. none of our dogs, not even our russian greyhound, would go near our siberians if they aren't in the mood to socialize. but they are caring and sensitive, so if anyone is sad or sick they will come running to check on them. they are lovely, but you have to be aware of what you are getting into. i've had cats all my life and i'd say siberians are high maintenance compared to the other cats i have lived with.
I'm an artist and a stay at home mom so I'm with my Siberian, Dragon, all day and night. I could not imagine how upset he would be if he were left alone for hours each day. He has a rescue cat friend (my daughter's cat) that he plays with as well. These cats form such close bonds with their humans that they really do need somone who is home more often than not.
More loving?? My kitten just turned 12 weeks and I only had her a few days and she wants to next to my face every night 😂 want a lot of attention and play
I have a Siberian cat that’s seal point and her name is Presley. She is really mean tho she always bites me and hides and she almost a year old she is so scared of people except me
I have a Siberian too he is the loveliest cat I’ve ever had. So gentle, very intuitive, intelligent….I could go on praising them. He is now almost 2 years and weighs 16 pounds. In my opinion he doesn’t eat exceptionally too much but he is and looks very heavy set. My vet keeps saying he is obese and I need to put him on a serious diet!! Does anyone on here have any tips or input for me regarding diet? I would appreciate it
Colorpoint is not an accepted color in Siberians, but a related breed called Neva Masquerade. Purebred Siberians do not produce colorpoint kittens, only crossbreeds do.
Yes they do if you breed two colour point you get a colour point I do have a friend who is a breeder and she has lavender colour point...they are priceless...and they also wrote 3 books so far on Siberian’s..colour point. Is a colour so any colour is accepted for a Siberian...the same for any colour after a while but all colour is accepted for Siberian...
@@KaisaVitikainen what do you mean by over there? Siberian , Norwegian and Maine coon are not from Russia they are from Maine in United States ....go check on the internet and you will have the whole story...
@@catherinealexander3496 LOL. The Siberian cat breed is most certainly not *from* United States. The colorpoint variation was achieved by crossbreeding purebred Siberians with Siamese cats, and as such the Neva Masquerade is not considered the same breed under FIFe (Fédération Internationale Féline). Original, pure Siberian cats cannot produce colorpoint kittens.
What's your favorite thing about Siberian Cats?
How about munchkin cats? Amazing video by the way more and more please ❤️
Glad you loved it :). I will do one about Munchkin cats also :)
@@darrendandan7141 Munchkin cats are bread to be genetically deformed and will have health problems because of it, super sad.
My favourite thing about Siberians is how much they love playing fetch and peekaboo around corners. My least favourite thing is how I will never go to the toilet in private again.
can you make video about minuet napoleon ?
I have a Siberian and she is the most amazing cat ever! She saved me when I was going through difficult times 💚
Thats what im looking for
That’s so amazing, can I ask if you’ve had any issues with their shedding or allergies?
@@lambsky379 personally I haven’t had any issues, but I know of some people that have had issues with allergies, my advice is to contact a breeder that lets you visit the kittens to see if you have an allergic reaction
I’m getting my second one 💜💜💜
the best
I'm in Russia and I've got my Siberian from the city dump site. He was a stray kitten of about 10 months but friendly and neat. Never a problem-maker but a great companion. He walks on the leash and does his needs outside like a dog. And when he feels like going back home, I just let him go without the leash... he has no fears to enter the elevator together with the dog.. but no stranger humans, please 😁
Thanks for sharing your story :)
Does your siberian like cudles and siting on your lap or prefers to just be near you and being pet?
@@martasemperboni827 same issue, would be grateful for a reply
@@martasemperboni827 they r still allergic for me :( however less than other breeds for sure, i.e. british cat doesn’t do it for me concerning allergies however siberian is okay 🙂 they r the best though, highly intelligent, don’t hesitate to write to me if u need some help
@@Toast-M1 just answered, check it out
We had a white kitty named Casper too :) he wasn't a Siberian though.
My 15 yr old Siberian died in May this year. He was everything and even more that you said. I miss him terribly. He took interest in everything I did. ❤
He loved music too.
Do u think this will happen to me cuz I also have asthma and I’m allergic ? Or not
@@jaashley28 I think there is a very good chance that this might happen for you, but it could be less, or more severe than my experience depending on how bad your Asthma/allergies are.
@@JustS0meK1dd thanks
Beautiful ❤🎉
i adopted my Siberian cat from petsmart not knowing he was such a great breed. He is always gorgeous, not shedding much hair, healthy, PLAYFUL (even at 15), chatty, affectionate, dog personality…and hard working…to catch flies or any insects :) he is active and not lazy at all. Best cat for dog owners too since they are acting like a good dog.
I got mine at the humane society. Lucky, lucky 🍀!
I have two Siberians.. a mother and her son. They are so amazing. Great buddies and so smart
they are the PERFECT cats. LOVE them!!
Does your siberian like cudles and siting on your lap or prefers to just be near you and being pet?
So we have quite a few Siberians, every single one of them prefers to cuddle, besides one. The one is a female, we hhad her -her entire life, but she always squirms aways and just perfers to be near by but hot hel. My biggest peace of advice is to manhandle them, pick them up, hold them even if they are showing they are uncomfortable because it gets them so use to your hands and being that close to you :) Better to start young too :D
Thanks for your response🙏❤are the other ones male?I mean can we relate it to gender?🤔
Also the means can be hard but getting 2 at once is really really great they will still enjoy human interaction but they will play with each other and cuddle for life :) we are keeping 2 of our current litter and they are so cute together always playing and cuddling (one boy and one girl, both interested in our cuddles equally!)
in general the breed is cuddly, however, each cat has its own personality and I find some cats can be stand-off ish, and not want to be on you but still near by, so getting a sib doesn't guarantee they will want to be smothered, but most sibs are affection-driven and if you show them nothing but pets and love they will flock :D
hope this helps :))
May I know the difference in personality of siberian vs a himalayan
Thank you so much for sharing this
My Siberian during winter, in my village house goes for a walk for all the night when it is about 30 degrees below zero😂.
Could you please explain the 'slight difference in traits and personality' between male and female Siberians?
@@cbiere6018 i think females are more independent than males
They do shed! A LOT! Twice a year you get the big seasonal coat change, which means you will really need to like vacuming and combing your cats. They are perfect in character provided you give them enough stimuli (toys, outside walks, playtime and multiple climbing posts) and they can't be alone for too long. Even if you have 2 or more, they really are very attached to their owners. If you are allergic, please test for an allergic reaction at the breeder you want to buy one. Reason is the allergic reaction can vary per bloodline/ genetic combination. Best thing to do is visit the breeder a couple of times just to be sure.
Do you know if they have any genetic diseases like HCM?
Thanks for sharing this!
Is there a breeding place for this kind of cats? The website address, I hope it comes from the place of origin, thank you!
Lol, my cat needs reassurance too. When she seems distant, I sit down beside her and go, "Do you need reassurance?"
I adopted a sick little kitten from a shelter. She was so skinny. Now she's healthy and has a beautiful thick coat. I think that she is a Siberian, she's also a Torbie. A special cat for sure!
That's so sweet ❤❤
I have a cat named Ginger, and she looks a lot like the pictures I see of SIberians. She is 16, and she still can jump long distances. She is the sweetest cat I’ve ever had. She’s a “talker” too. She will “pat” me when she jumps on the bed and wants attention. We love her, and don’t want to think about any day without her. We keep telling her, “You MUST live FOREVER!” Since she’s 16, we may get our wish!!!
Really hope she outlives everyone in the family and becomes a multidimensional entity shaped like a cat that will never die.
These cats are the best cats on earth I saved one and had him for 3 years. I loved that cat so much he was the nicest and most loyal cat I ever had in my life. When he passed it took a part of me
I absolutely love my Siberian. She has the best personality ❣️
This is Why I want a Siberian Cat.
I miss my Siberian cat. She was from da hood and had a big personality lol. She was a good protector but will defend herself from our dogs being aggressive with her. She seemed more human in her personality than a cat. I know she’s guarding the entry way at the rainbow bridge 🌈
So sorry for your loss :(
Just learned my cat is a Siberian.
That's so sweet!
Does your siberian like cudles and siting on your lap or prefers to just be near you and being pet?

Do your siberians like cudles and siting on your lap or prefer to just be near you and being pet?
I had 2 siberian cats. The first one was affectionate like a dog. She slept with me under covers, even on my neck, lap and so on. loved playing, fetching and following you everywhere. Unfort she died at 6 months...the second one is colder, she doesn’t like to lay on your lap but she follows you, sleeps next to you, she’s very talkative and needy but in a more distant way, she loves to play hide and seek . She’s a delicate princess.
sorry for your loss :(
We adopted a Siberian because they are hypoallergenic.
Super friendly, cares everyone in the house and coordinating naturally. He really protects us, talks and loves cuddling and kisses.
My little guy is so smart and affectionate ❤. Full of personality 😅. Highly recommended❤ ❤❤❤
I have a flame point Siberian. Just turned a year old. Up to 11 lbs. best kitty ever ❤️
I have a flame point Siberian as well and she's turning a year old June 30th

I have a Siberian cat and he is the most beautiful cat and sweetest he loves his mama so much
My Siberian died recently, I’m looking to get a new one soon. Thanks for the info!
Otherwise: I love de clip you’ve made❤
I was adopted by a feral Momma cat and her spicy feral kitten♥️
They look exactly like Siberian Forest Cats, but there aren’t many (if any) here in Northern Ireland so I guess they just look exactly like them.
I’m sooo lucky to own him ❤❤❤
Siberian cats are gorgeous! 😍
I have a Siberian since 3 weeks now, he's almost 4 months. He's sooo shy, though he's gotten better with time. He loves to play but HATES to be pet, well let's just say he hates to be touched lol... let alone be held/picked up
Thanks for sharing this
mine too!
Love that you mention adopting a cat regardless of breed!
I have a half Siberian half shorthair 9 month kitten, his dad was Siberian , beautiful cats
So so affectionate kisses and headbutts chats away huge character
My siberian always comes to me as I'm arriving from work and always walks me to the driveway as I leave. Very respectful when I eat. Sleeps at my feet every night. He also smells very good.
Mine is Half Siberian half Indian Local Breed ♥ Adorable and lovinnnng
I suspect a stray wander up is a Siberian. He certainly fits this and is color point with very pretty blue eyes. He’s young yet. He was extremely matted and I had to have him shaved. But he appears to be a gentle boy that doesn’t want to fight.
Our Siberians are so amazing. Our female is a little more reserved, but our male follows us everywhere! He especially loves to wake us up like a 7 year old on Christmas morning. Both love to hop on the couch during movies, snuggle themselves in-between me and my spouse, and knead while purring.
I'm pretty sure this is what my cat is. I got her from a shelter so I don't really know, but I see her cute little face in all these cats.
I understand what you mean about wanting to take all of them. It's a shame that so many of these sweet animals wind up in shelters.
I had never had a cat that didn't come from a rescue. We got very lucky rehoming two gorgeous teenagers. I wouldn't want a cat now other than a Siberian. Already I'm feeling guilty at the thought actually buying one.
Siberian cats are the best! Amazing kitties
I went through the most difficult year of my life and wouldn’t have made it without my Siberian cat
Does your siberian like cudles and siting on your lap or prefers to just be near you and being pet?

Dudeee after seeing that price I'm glad I got my boy Simba for free off Craigslist😅
Odd story but he loves playing fetch and has his special stick. When I come home from work he rolls across the living room floor. He's kinda mischievous and spazzy.
I love him to bits and he don't know nothin but be cat 😸
Those are some fluffy cats.
The Siberian cat reminds me of the Norwegian Forest cat and the Maine coon all three very beautiful and I had a Norwegian Forest cat
Can you tell I have a Siberian!!
The best cat you will ever adopt, sweet, kind, Super Smart with a dog like personality. The are very calm but when they play they play hard making you laugh at their silliness. Very inquisitive 🧐 I love my Beijinho as photographed.
I lost my Logan siberian cats in january this years. Aggressive cancer. He was only 6 years old. He was such an angel. I love/miss him so much...
Did your cat had all the vaccinations? Thank you
I live in Siberia in the city of Novosibirsk and I have a Siberian cat😎

@@aniab4306 We sleep together, but he is usually independent and self-sufficient
@@flyingapple3486 thanks for response🙏
I do have a Siberian piss Ant Tabby. 13 years. Looks like he's 6 years. My previous kitty was a half Angora girl. 31 years.
I have a siberian and main coon mix love her and thanks for all the videos the are so educational
So very sorry for your loss, I know it's an unbearable pain.......may your heart be healed soon 🙏💕🐾
I guess I’m getting a Siberian cuz they seem super cool
I think my cat is a siberian mix with british shorthair. He looks exactly like a siberian and matches the personality to the tee. So I'm assuming his dad is one. Luckiky he was pretty cheap too 😅 his mom's dad was just giving the litter away and only charged for the the amount it took to raise him. Best decision of my life. He is the best cat ever and absolutely beautiful. I'm so excited to watch him grow.
Am I the only one that's only watching this because they want one but know their not gonna get one?
I'm allergic to cats, but love them. I want a siberian cat so bad and this pops up in my timeline. I see a siberian in my future.
They are hypoallergenic! I am horribly allergic to cats as well, but we tested my allergies at a Siberian breeder and have now had our Siberian for over a week and not a single sniffle! 😸
It's not a guarantee. My siberian still makes me sneeze. 1000% worth it
You can also give an air purifier a try! That may help in any allergies you have!
we've had 4 siberian cats and while they all had huge personalities, they were all distinctly different. that's what i like about them. i wouldn't recommend them as single pets, they should always be held in pairs. they need a lot of attention and don't do well being left alone at all. so it's best if you are willing to centre a lot of your life around your cat. if you like being out and about all day working and pursuing hobbies then i wouldn't get siberians. if you work from home or you spend a lot of your free time at home they will help you with every chore/ activity. but i have to say all 4 of ours have had an impressive nasty streak if they feel threatened or bullied. so you need to be sensitive to their moods and give them space if they need some time to calm down if they are upset or in a bad mood. none of our dogs, not even our russian greyhound, would go near our siberians if they aren't in the mood to socialize. but they are caring and sensitive, so if anyone is sad or sick they will come running to check on them. they are lovely, but you have to be aware of what you are getting into. i've had cats all my life and i'd say siberians are high maintenance compared to the other cats i have lived with.
Nicely stated. I have one sib. and you are right on.
Oh its about me :)
More loving?? My kitten just turned 12 weeks and I only had her a few days and she wants to next to my face every night 😂 want a lot of attention and play
Very informative, excellent presentation!
Thanks so much!
The wonders of evolution never cease to amaze.
beautiful babies
I have a Siberian cat that’s seal point and her name is Presley. She is really mean tho she always bites me and hides and she almost a year old she is so scared of people except me
Protects their families like dogs 😂 why did I imagine one of these launching at someone breaking into the house 😂
They are perfect!
Colorpoint is accepted in Siberian Cats, check CFA standard.
@@FactsaboutCatsVideos must be an American thing? Over here they are most certainly separate breeds. Sad that they have mixed them over there.
