PredawnMender62 I’m sorry then it’s not a competitor it’s a championship because competitors are like the 80’s marching drums if you look up rob Carson the snare he uses in the Santa Clara vanguard is almost the same as a competitor. The person you bought this off of may have not know what it is.
@@mattbreeden9283 Bro I bought it new from guitar center. Take it up with them or pearl lol. Matt Breeden I’m probably late to the discussion, but recently pearl made the competitor series for bands that couldn’t afford to buy a whole line of championship snares. So pearl made a high tension version of the competitor, and still makes the traditional one that you are referring to. All competitors come with the pearl super hoop even the high tension version.

Hi i know i been asking you about this marching snare the pearl competitor if you still have that drum can you please upload on how to tune the snare guts because i can do that nob thingy but how do you tune the snare guts
Well then yea I'd go with the remo black max. but it really is up to you. But I personally would go with black. Plus, if you get the Pearl Airframe harness, it goes really well because that's black too.
Hi i have a question i got a remo white max drum head and the drum sounds fine but i ordered a high tention drum key how hard does the drum head need to be to get a high pitch cause all i have is the low tention drum key
Turn the key once and go in a star pattern to even out the tension After you complete on round tap on the drum and repeat the steps until you get your desired tuning
Hi i have the same marching snare as yours the pearl competitor i just got it for Christmas and im thinking about changing the top head to a remo white max and i was wondering if i can use the remo white max for those or a black max wich one is better
I personally like the black max because it goes with my black pearl competitor 13x11 marching snare. If yours is white then go for it man, I just personally like it when all the colours match each other.
Ngl I really like the sound of a kevlar top + mylar bottom combination.
Effin dope, nice playing bro, i wish i could play like that
sounds great for a competitor
Depends on the head mostly
nice video, I just bought a pearl competitor, hope its worth the money
Country boy zach I saw your comment on the other video and you said they sounded like crap
I’m looking to find one did you like it
Was it worth the money
2:34 these a sickkk beeat 👍🏻👍🏻
Your rolls are pretty impressive
0:25 very smart move
Your drum sounds good
Nice tuning
David K yeah, he just needs to keep his diddles open
love the Remo black max. 😍
Can you put another video of the snare fully???
That is the exact same snare I use in school
Sounds good but try to make your accents and taps have a major difference helps it to sound much better.
how did u put the harness on did u need to buy a harness attachment
The Pearl CXS2 Air Frame should come with the attachment when you buy it.
That was fire🔥🔥🔥
The carrier ctx airframe its the best harnest ever
I know I’m late but why do you have a drum set rim on a high tension drum
both top and bottom rims are Pearl Superhoop rims. The drum came with them on.

I have a yamaha snare with the evans hybrid-s head
My competitor sounds like shit how did you make it sound like that
I just got a Remo black max and got a high tension tuning key and cranked it up
Another thing i would like to know how do you get the snare to have a crisp sound cause i want my snare to have that exact same sound of yours
The remo black max is a great drum head. I just cranked it up, you really shouldn't do it but it has yet to break haha.
@@PredawnMender62 kevlar heads are meant to be cranked pretty tight
I have the same head and bottom to
does it have a difference in terms of sound when having the black max vs the stock head?
Yes. The Remo Black Max is a kevlar head mostly used in High School Marching band/Drum Corps. The stock head is a regular tom head.
Hey can you show me how you tuned it? I have a black max on it, but I can't get it to sound like that
+Jovanny Juarez I just put the black max on and took my high tension key and tuned it as high as it can go
i have a white marching tener comperitors too
How did u get it to sound like a real marching snare instead of a bongo
To make it sound like that you have to know how to tune it

Were those supposed to be shots that's how it goes? I understand the bass part
I have a mapex snare looks alike yours
Stick heights
what kind of rim is that? Haha ours are beefy af
+Brendan MX It's an FFX Rim (made out of steal)
we have Pear Carbon Core drums and they're incredible
Do you have the stock bottom head on it?
SS Deezee yes in this video the stock head was on the bottom. Now I have an Evans head on the bottom.
