Homemade Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
This shortcake is by far on of my favorite cakes I have ever eaten! It has a perfect balance of cake, strawberries, and whipped cream. The lemon brings out the amazing flavor so much more! I love making this cake and it's so easy to decorate and it always comes out beautiful! I hope you'll love this cake as much as I do! :)
For the cake
2 cups
1 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
6 large eggs at room temperature
Zest of a Lemon
Pinch of salt (1/8 teaspoon)
For Whipped Cream
2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
1/8 cup Granulated Sugar
For Strawberries
2 lbs Fresh Strawberries
1/8 cup Granulated Sugar
Juice of 2 Lemon
Zest of a Lemon
