Cost about 50 bucks to take my family to McDonald’s which means we don’t go anymore which means we’re actually living a healthier life cooking at home. It’s a win-win.
Right
You can get food from an actual restaurant for McDonald's prices now
This!!!
Use the app. If you're paying $50 at Mcd, idk what to tell you, that's pretty dumb. The other day I went (I live in the Seattle area so it's more expensive here than your avg place), and I spent $7 for 2 quarter pounders and a McChicken. They pretty much have the buy one get one free deal running non stop. Compare that to eating out which is $30+ per person. I do agree that home cooking is the way to go and that's what I have always done but it really isn't that expensive... Unless you don't use the app and waste your money on meals (the fries and drink are so not worth it).
@@ape8404 same with Taco Bell! I’m noticing most restaurants have better deals ordering online then going in person!
Its like $15-20 for a fast food combo now, its ridiculous. Theres no reason to go anymore.
i agree, i tried charleys cheesesteaks the other day, i just got the medium size plain cheesesteak combo with fries and drink, my total was $15.75....and i was still hungry after. never again
Close to 20$ where we are for a meal, might as well get groceries now
@@brandonharrison2659 the app isnt cheaper.
The McDonalds in Tijuana had big Mac and quarter pounder combos for 130 pesos but they just closed permanently at the beginning of the year. I guess they weren't making enough money. That's the only McDonalds I would got to as it's about 7.50 USD = 130 pesos. So half the price of a big Mac combo in the USA

Lying news.
Yup! There is no reason to eat at a fast food restaurant when you can eat at a real restaurant for the same price.
Grocery store food is cheaper.
What "real" restaurant can you eat at for $10 - $12? And they gave you the highest price they could find because it's at a location where you pay for convenience, that is not the norm, it was chosen because it furthers their story line. People need to listen and think for themselves...

Oh please. McDonald’s CEO is full of it. He made it clear he was raising prices and said “they can get away with it cause people will pay it.” Fool!
Grocery store prices went up WAY more than 1.3% this year, and fast food prices went up WAY more than just 5%...
I know. Why do they keep lying to us?
100% Even the 5 gallon jug of water I'd buy at the grocery store went from $1.75 to $2.50. Bunch of lies.
The democrats raised the minimum wage. Figure it out genius.
@YesYou-zy7kp The minimum wage hadn't been raised since 2009 and finally went up in 2019. The wage for employees who made tips was just 2.13 an hour because the customer was expected to supplement their wage. 7.25 for everyone else.
Did McDonald's refuse to raise their prices in that time? Were groceries the same price as they were a decade prior? Are workers supposed to keep getting poorer as inflation continuously outpaces any wage increases they may receive? Why did the prices go up while McDonald's and other fast food companies had saved tons of money by replacing employees with kiosks and an app to pre-order?
If you're going to lick the corporate boot, do it in private. It's gross.
@@YesYou-zy7kpNope. It’s corporate greed plain and simple. It’s called price gouging. Nixon threatened to jail them when they tried it under his presidency. Now both parties are lapdogs for the corporations so they just let them fleece us. Recently they admitted that they were lying that food prices went up because of shoplifting. Crime is down. Way down. They were just using that lie to get away with robbing us. Good luck getting them to lower the prices now.
Their prices are litteraly the same as going out to resturants now. Its insane
In my area, restaurants are often $25/head and tipping the wage slave who carries the food and drinks.

For that price you should’ve got the chicken with it 😂
You can literally buy like 10 lbs of potatoes sometimes for the price of those fries.
You should still go. In many parts of America a lot of mom and pop restaurants are pretty bad especially in the rural areas and sadly chain restaurants will taste better.

@@CatmanMEOOOOW If they can afford to eat Fast Food they can afford some groceries.
Now that fast food is just as expensive as normal restaurants the decision should be simple. If you want good food at a good price, fast food is not the way to go.
But it’s not though. Anybody with any sense and a phone has the McDonald’s app. That has daily deals in it that make the food. Pretty inexpensive if you use it. Especially compared to other fast food places where the quality of the food is going to be lessand you might end up paying more without these discounts or app purchases

The CEO saying they are focusing on "affordability" is absolutely hilarious, i've never once seen prices going down once they went up. Every company used Covid to raise their price by 10-40% in the food industry be it fast food or grocery stores. That's how it is in Canada at least.
Yep. Because Covid reduced the supply of labor, so restaurants had to start paying WAY more for labor. When your profit margin is 5%, you don’t have room to absorb costs. You raise prices.
You're 💯% on point. No way they're going to lower their prices. They'll lower the quantity of food, but not the prices. Selling those shrunken burgers. If people stopped going there so much, they might lower their prices, but their food is still not worth going there for.

They forgot that people are there because it was cheap, not because it was good.
I think a lot of obese people would disagree with you on that.
he said it "was cheap". they got rid of all the play area for kids i think most parents take their kids there before
Never thought I'd see the day when in n out has gotten cheaper than McDonald's
In&Out tastes better too!
@@happycook6737it’s not even close!
lol what? You can get a McDouble for $1 when you buy one, it's like $4 for two burgers. Thats $14 at IN N Out. Try again
@@michaelbell75
Maybe. In your dreams McDonald's costs that. But we live in reality.
@patrickriarchy6054 all the McDonald's by me does the same deals and buy one and get one free deals. Maybe the McDonald's where you live just sucks
In Scandinavia, wages of McDonald's employees are higher compared to the US and the meals of McDonald's are cheaper. Furthermore, taxes in Scandinavia are way higher (except for company taxes) and an average worker needs to work a shorter amount of time in order to buy a meal from McDonald's. What could be learned from this?
How could they do an entire story about the rising prices of fast food and not mention the $20 per hour minimum wage for fast food workers in CA and the $18-plus per hour minimum wage is many large cities in other states. It isn't the cost of food that is driving the increases in costs at restaurants.
$16 for a sub, chips and a drink is insane. I just don't go anymore. Absurd prices.
A turkey foot long at Subway was in the mid 13's when i went last week. No drink or chips smh
Use the app. Don't pay regular prices.
Once people go off fast food, they'll never go back. Be careful, McDonalds, be careful.
What was the person outside walking back and forth with number about? Are they looking for a date? 😂
Support a local restaurant… better quality food for the same or even cheaper price
Right 👍
Last time we went out it was a $100 ticket not $20-40. Dinning out is waaaay out of price for my family. If we do eat out it's fast food but only something the whole family can share or its off of the value menu. Taco bell's burritos are very filling because they come with rice and my taco bell hasn't charged me for adding veggies to my orders.
@@syzygy4365I don’t even eat out at restaurants anymore. We’ll order and go pick it up and eat at home. Not buying the drinks and paying a crazy tip makes it much cheaper. It’s more cozy eating at home too.
@ruck-a-tron facts, they be wanting 10-20 dollar tips just to "serve us", I'll just stay home lol
Now there's less tips, AND less business
McDonald's is local. It's owned by a local franchisee in many cases. Why does it have to be some mom and pop restaurant not associated with a corporation?
I remember when a double cheeseburger meal at McDonald's was $3.20. Now it's almost $9.
I remember when it only cost $8.00 to get into Disneyworld!!!! It's not 1976 anymore. DUH
Just a few years ago a mcdouble was a dollar ... not 1976
@BlackMageSam yea those were the good days and those dollar menus lol 😂
@@ncg5560- The difference was that if was 3 years ago, not 1976! 🤡
It costs $11 at my local rip off big name fast food place.
Here in South Africa a Big Mac is USD$2,70 and we think that's high now my mind has been blown!!! 🇿🇦
1%.....5%????? Where are they getting there numbers from??? Prices have increased WAY more then that????
Where have grocery store prices fallen? Not where I live, they continue to increase....
@@Sam-oo6wyright? 1.3%???? 🙄
@@Sam-oo6wythat’s not true, atleast not for all items. For example, dairy products have come down in cost to around pre pandemic levels over where I’m at. Meat prices are up but grains like rice are still super cheap.
Potato’s are expensive and up but sweet potatoes are still about the same.
If you eat healthy and are not picky you can make things work. Cooking at home will always be cheaper
@dennisp8520 milk was cheap now it's back to normal. 3.16 a gallon yesterday. 2 bucks for a pack of bar s hot dogs. Found them for 1.50 at Walmart. They was 89 cents even during the panorama.
It’s called propaganda. The news media try to convince people of a false narrative that food prices are going down. This is why people need to take anything the news media says with a grain of salt, it’s just one lie after another.
Skyrocket is a word that comes to mind about grocery store prices!
The grocery bill went up way over what she said. 😢
They can't say that, it would make the puppet running the country look bad.
We call this biden-nomics
Spent $41 on a few burgers, 20 chicken nuggets and fries for 4 people. Took 30 minutes because no one spoke English as a first language and the order was half missing and wrong. Everyone was ignoring the front counter so it took forever to get ahold of anyone. All for some deeply unhealthy food product. I stopped going there, it's not worth it. I'm currently questioning if I should sell all my shares of MCD.
Let’s talk about the decreases in the size of their products
The proper term for smaller portions for the same price is called ---------"shrinkflation". At some point the pickle slice will be bigger than the burger meat, and the soft drinks can be served in 4oz condiments containers 😂.
Someone in corporate is smoking crack if they think anyone would pay $18 for a meal and the hershey squirts!
The CEO Can afford to smoke crack,he makes 24 mil a year.
"While the corporate office has a say in how locations are run, a majority of the decisions, including menu prices, are made by individual franchise owners."
@@boataxe4605 CEO compensation has nothing to do with it.
I think the franchise owner set the price, while MD set the minimum price
I find it amusing that those of you who bothered to respond are all focusing on corporate and their junior noobs and their dastardly greed but not one person has argued the fact that one gets diarrhea when you eat their overpriced food! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve stopped eating out! Too expensive anymore!
1% raise in groceries and 5% raise on fast food. There is no way that statistic is correct
Local Pad Thai place sells a huge portion of it for $15. A sub is $12-$15 and a Mac meal is about $13 now. Why would I not just go get pad thai for that price?
Prices going up and you get less food.
Large Fry in Cali is 4.99 BEFORE TAX! Small fry is 3.50 before tax Absolutely criminal
I can get 10 lbs of potato's for 4.99... and the French fries I make in peanut oil are better than theirs
Same cost in my state. I can buy 10 pounds potatoes for $8. Peel, chip, soak in salted water a few hours, drain, pat dry, toss with small amount oil, season, then air fry. I have "fries" for 2 weeks for family of 4 plus mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, hash browns, and Swiss Rosti potato pancakes .. Buhbye rip off fast food joints! Buhbye frozen grocery store $4 for 1 pound "French fries".
CA restaurants must pay their workers $22 an hour now. What do you expect?
You live in California where Democrats drain your wallet
It's not only the rise of cost, it's also the decrease of size proportion.
Affordably yes, but what about the size of the product?
It costs about £23.99 for a burger, fries and shake at Five Guys. At McDonalds its about £4.60.
When something I want (not need) becomes what I feel to be too expensive, I stop buying it. I don't complain about it, I just go without.
Why can't you talk about cost!?!? Weird
But then one day you'll be left with nothing you want/enjoy, because everything is getting too expensive now.
@BlueOvals24 yes, we'll send the eye.

Do you live in Russia? Because that’s not what this country has ever been about. Grow some balls!
I do remember when fast food was a quick, affordable meal when in a hurry, on the road, or you just didn't feel like cooking. On top of the ridiculous rising prices, the food has gone down hill and it NEVER looks like photos used in advertising. I don't eat any fast food any more. Terrible value.
It almost always looks like a Toddler made it...
It never did, but even the Quarter Pounders started tasting as nauseously as the McDoubles.. guess they aren’t using fresh beef for anything anymore
I wonder if we shud tell him they raised the prices at restaurants and grocery stores too. Kinda what happens what your government goes further and further into extreme socialism.
The classic thumb print in the bun. They are holding onto those burgers for dear life putting it in the bag.
Too expensive for junk food.
The local MD here is like a vacant building, no one going to pay $12 or more for a cold cheese burger !!
Why do I get the feeling that I just watched an ad disguised as a news piece?
right? I felt that way when they put full blame on the franchisees for the prices halfway through the video
You have unplugged from the matrix
Why do I want a McDonald's cheeseburger and fries?
seriously, wasn't even hungry and now I'm craving some micky d's

I agree, it's getting too expensive to eat out and I fear that restaurants are pricing themselves right out of business.
Ole "Money-Donalds" isn't getting my money. I'm done with them and other fast food places.
The CEO of McDonalds earns $24 million per year.
I pay none of his salary.. lol
Thanks to everyone purchasing their $18 Big Mac meals and all the other outrageously overpriced "food" there. Vite with your wallet and don't eat there anymore.
Mcdonald's don't make money from food but from real estate.
