Got this lock partly because of the video. So - the would be thieves did not manage to pick it. But they managed to break the lock, so i had to spend the rest of the evening waiting for a locksmith to cut the bike loose with an angle grinder. Not bad for the price point. I would use it. I still find these DD locks very secure. Many people bought the Sparrows disc tool thinking they would open these locks as you do just to be shocked as to how much skill it takes.
As someone who had a R1 Stolen out of my car park.. People don't pick.. they cut... someone brought in hydraulic cutters to the game. Even with that, this is a good discount find.

its a good lock not easy to open if no special tools, but even without a special tool if you leave your bike for a whole day obviously any hack saw or torch will do..
#599 Oxford HD Chain and Bike Lock Combo picked 2 years ago took 6.5 minutes. This one (very similar looking) took 2.2 minutes. Getting faster by the year!
There are lots of chains and locks like this out there. Home Depot and Harbor Freight have these. They really are just security theater=they look tough to defeat, but really aren't. Some small sized Pewag chain and a decent lock might be a better inve😉stmant. I had a noose type chain, but never really liked it. My neighbor and I park our bikes downstairs, I lock mine three ways. His is just sitting there unlocked.-no one will take it.
I had two bike stolen (one wasnt even worth a hundred bucks) both times somebody in a high visibility vest just walked out of a van, used a angle grinder to cut the locks, put the bikes in his van and drove of. Since he was wearing a high visibility vest apparently everyone thought it was OK. I bet this lock would take to long to grind of :)
That lock was picked faster than I can open my Kryptonite Evolution lock with a key. I have to fiddle with it. I think it's supposed to open better than it does but by he time my bike arrived and I used it I'm past the return time. Houdini lubricant didn't help.
It's a disc detainer core so you know what that means...! Say the line... Oh I always forget the rotate the discs clockwise part. Say the line... Go on.... HURRAY!!! Wu! 👏👏👏
I wish you said if those chains are just as strong as the ones from companies like Abus if they are the same size. Most bike thieves don't pick locks, they cut them
On disc detainer cores I always wondered how long it would take you (the LPL) to pick those locks with more widely commercially available picks/tools than the one you (had to?) created. I think that would be a good chalenge!! And maybe that would also give a better "feel" on how secure it is in real life (i.e. where most thieves won't have highly specialised picking tools like the one you use here) 👍🏼
@@seanj3667 I know but I meant tools that the "everyday locksmith" would have on him. That pick even if commercially available is not ~yet~ as common as any other pick.
When I was in Jr. high I would ride my bike to school and where people would lock up their bikes, I would show them how cheap master locks were by showing them how you could easily open them by hitting them. Usually 1 or 2 smacks of it on the concrete would do the trick. 😄

I bought one after seeing this review. Plan to use it to keep my bike attached to my rack. I don’t think anyone coveting my bike is likely to have the skills or tools to pick it. Hopefully!!
The interesting thing about this channel is that it teaches potential thieves how to improve their skills
Me: notices the keys 2-seconds into the video
My brain: he’s going to say the magic phrase!!
Definitely getting this lock for school now. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for continuing to purchase at Amazon. More recommendations are on the way!
2:20 the way LPL says 'subscribe" gets me every time
please *subsCRIbe* 😂😂😂
Most of the time if you have a short video it's a bad lock, but this is actually really good!
this was not terrible difficult to pick.
It is a compliment from LPL. well done 😁
Not bad for the price point. I would use it. I still find these DD locks very secure. Many people bought the Sparrows disc tool thinking they would open these locks as you do just to be shocked as to how much skill it takes.
Will u ever do a "Top 10 Recommended Bike Locks", would appreciate it alot!
LPL needs a merch line. "T-Shirt that BosnianBill & I Made", "Mug that BosnianBill & I Made", etc.
Matt Merkle what would the Bosnian Bill version say?
As someone who had a R1 Stolen out of my car park..
People don't pick.. they cut... someone brought in hydraulic cutters to the game.
Even with that, this is a good discount find.
Of all the videos I've given a thumbs up over the years. Am I close to a free lock yet. Hahaahahahaha. Love the videos and look foward to turning u tube on afterwork and watch u make it look easy. I need to get me a set of tools to play around with and mabe pick a lock
I was having a bad day until I got a glimpse of the pick that bosnianbill and I made. Now I'm having a great day!
*The CEO of the company starts crying.
eXclurel why ? It’s a good lock did u not watch lol
They should just use this video as a comercial
In joy
😂😂
😂😂😂
Just found my favourite new pass time, reading master lock cable bike lock reviews on Amazon about how everyone's bike got stolen 🤣 poor sods
Honestly I love the respect he gives the lock given its price tag. No lock I know of under $100 is going to be keeping him busy for more than 30s. The comment "this wasn't very hard to pick but it did the same job as a lock twice its price" might as well be a glowing endorsement.
He is actually recommending a lock! They said it couldn't be done!!!
its a good lock not easy to open if no special tools, but even without a special tool if you leave your bike for a whole day obviously any hack saw or torch will do..
#599 Oxford HD Chain and Bike Lock Combo picked 2 years ago took 6.5 minutes. This one (very similar looking) took 2.2 minutes. Getting faster by the year!
Just over 2 minutes and the lock is penetrated but still given high praise from LPL, HOLY CARP...
have a great day LPL, and one more thing, i am having a blast at my new apartment.
His is just sitting there unlocked.-no one will take it.
thanks lpl. i am having a good day so far, made even better by your epic skills. heres hoping you and mrs. lpl are having a good day too.
That’s a good enough recommendation for me to actually buy one. I have absolutely no need for one, but, in any case, I’m buying one anyway!!
Looked at amazon. I think they only sell a 120cm length one now that is more expensive.
Saved as potential lock in the future.
I wish picking these locks was as easy as you make it look.
Basically if I have a lock , it’ll have to be think and taped up so that it takes longer for the tape to be cutoff than picked by anyone
Incredible, 2020 just keeps on giving, a LockPickingLawyer _recommendation_ video?!
That lock was picked faster than I can open my Kryptonite Evolution lock with a key. I have to fiddle with it. I think it's supposed to open better than it does but by he time my bike arrived and I used it I'm past the return time. Houdini lubricant didn't help.
Probably the best endorsement I've heard from LPL.
RIP lol. This is $100 on Amazon now.
There are few things that are hard with the right skills and tools.
A nice looking lock with a nicely done core.
I'll take it.
It's a disc detainer core so you know what that means...! Say the line... Oh I always forget the rotate the discs clockwise part. Say the line... Go on.... HURRAY!!! Wu! 👏👏👏
would be nice to see a tear down comparison
He picked this lock in like 20 seconds but somehow we all take it as a ringing endorsement. Amazing
I wish you said if those chains are just as strong as the ones from companies like Abus if they are the same size. Most bike thieves don't pick locks, they cut them
Nice backup lock for the other wheel.
🎉🎉 Second lock in a row that is worth buying!
Nice to see him complimenting a lock whilst simultaneously speed running it
On disc detainer cores I always wondered how long it would take you (the LPL) to pick those locks with more widely commercially available picks/tools than the one you (had to?) created. I think that would be a good chalenge!! And maybe that would also give a better "feel" on how secure it is in real life (i.e. where most thieves won't have highly specialised picking tools like the one you use here) 👍🏼
LPL as some videos of him picking disk detainer cores using cheap Chinese lockpicks... doesn't really take him any longer.
The one he and Bosnian Bill made is now commercially available.
@@jrd33 fair enough but as you said... cheap Chinese locks...
@@seanj3667 I know but I meant tools that the "everyday locksmith" would have on him. That pick even if commercially available is not ~yet~ as common as any other pick.
And the price on Amazon has gone up now...
When I was in Jr. high I would ride my bike to school and where people would lock up their bikes, I would show them how cheap master locks were by showing them how you could easily open them by hitting them. Usually 1 or 2 smacks of it on the concrete would do the trick. 😄
I would like to know a little more about that pick.
