Had fun ripping around in the passengers seat! If anyone is interested, I'm covering the turbo build for this car on my channel! Let me know if you've got questions I can answer, thanks!
It’s a very clean build and I respect that the owner hasn’t just put a high horsepower set up on that car it just goes to show you can have fun with less the way the owners and topher talk about the car shows that clear as day
I really like the style of Patty's NB - its functional & capable but it doesn't look offensive & obnoxious in town scenarios as well. Its just about right👌 Also, Patty Boi mentioned some great Miata youtube channels. I'll add another youtube channel onto that list - 'The Slip Angle'. They specialise in Miatas, S2000s, RX-7, RX-8 and BMW M cars so far. Their production quality has risen dramatically in recent years and the guy Quinn DEFINITELY knows how to drive (ex spec-miata driver who appeared on SpeedAcademy's Miata challenge) and is SUPER knowledgable when it comes to engines and suspension analysis. I always learn something new from their videos. Definitely recommend you guys checking their videos out, as it can be humorous too ;)
Every sinle Mazda rather it is new or old, tuned or stock, SUV, minivan, hatchback sedan, convertible or not are fun to drive. Very hard to see another car company like Mazda who would include its philosophy into ALL its products.
Been following Pat for a while now since he had his NB and did a video with Eddie. Cool dude, and really cool car. Definitely gives me some ideas on what to do with my NB!
I have a Mazdaspeed miata with full bolts ons on stock turbo, I made 210 whp. The owner is definitely leaving a lot of power on the table here, his car should be around 250whp.
This is tuned by two schmucks who's brains are fueled by lemons. Super conservative at the moment because we don't have a load bearing dyno. One day I'll bring it to a dyno tuner and crank it wayyyy up!
@@pattyboi I would make an appointment as soon as possible, you are leaving a lot of power on the table... A good tuner will also improve the drivability, part throttle behavior and many other things. Nice build!
I owned a 1991 Mercury Capri xr2 for a good while and love seeing how close they compare. Mine was completely stock with 53k on the dash, so it definitely was an experience to be 18 and driving one around that was so clean. This video is for sure inspiring me to go buy a Miata and turbo it so I can be mountain racing again:(!
I'm 6'2 and I basically fit in my MR2 Spyder. Word on the street is the MR2 has more space for the tall fellows. That said, my right leg is too close to the steering wheel to keep a 9 and 3 posture but it's comfortable enough that I drove close to 4 hours altogether for Slammed Enuff without an ache.
I'd love to see this for an ND1 turbo miata along with his driving impressions. Also the ND2 miata has a BBR super 220 HP kit that keeps in N/A. The torque and power gains are pretty linear and quite impressive.
I tried to make some Miata content. But I just keep braking it. 386whp 3 transmission later. Now dealing with rebuilding the head after burning up one of the exhaust valves. But whem its running it a lot of fun.
Sweet! Just needs shorter gearing I think to suit the the spool times. Rowing through the gears faster will make it that much more frantic and exciting without having to increase power
Drove em both when shopping around. Tbh the NC felt slightly slower, but I loved the steering feel way more (which to me is more important than both of those). Go for a ride and see if you like em !
Tricky with a mx5 because of the gearing. On my NA at least, top of 2nd gear would only get to 50-55mph, so 0-60 times almost always include a change to 3rd gear right at the end...
How old are you , if you're a teenager get a job save for one and buy it , it's going to cost you money not your parents, so they have no saying if you pay with your own money

Keep the videos coming man! Not enough NB content here on the tubes.
Excellent build and a new follow!
Love this car with turbo, I'm planning to build one too. Do share your experience, tips, obstacles and also spec of turbo. Great vid again!
been watching your channel for a long time, awesome content as always, this collab was a surprise :D

Life IS too short to drive boring cars. Now days cars try to drive YOU! i'm gonna ride gas till its banned.
just get a motorcycle. they're just as fun and there's no sign of them going away yet

@@gabdevil3 Same here in California United States, we announced months ago that by 2035 only 0 Emission vehicles will be sold.

My NB is definitely offensive & obnoxious at 386whp.
This is a collab I didn't think I'd see lol

I would compare modern Mazda to like 90s or 80s Hondas. Every car they engineer has at least a little something driver-centric about them.
4:18 oddly satisfying how the roll bar lines up perfectly with the lane

same dude lol
Turbo sounds beautiful
Two-fer from Topher! First time I remember you driving with an owner and it was fun and informative. Loved the car, it looks really well sorted.

Car looks cool
The look of 2nd gen Miatas reminds me a bit of the 1st/2nd gem vipers. It’s a baby viper lol.
this here is what i like to see
This sounds SO GOOOOODD!
Now I want a Miata but i'm 6'3"... FML

so what's I'm saying is get an MR2 Spyder

I really love the setup, it builds gradually. Not seeing much turbo lag.

I did not know that about ND2.
Thats the perfect daily turbo Miata.
Well built man! 👌🔥*chef's kiss*
Now that's a proper build. Unlike the people who just want 1,000,000hp.
You mean you don't like throwing a 6.2 from a Hellcat in there? Lol.
@@PacoRobbins No, I mean hp isn't everything. Lol.
Such a cool car, hope i can build my own some day
What a clean car, sounds great!
I love the miata content. Would not mind if you went 100% miata haha

That's impressive!
Love the stance.
Hell yeah!
1:25 did that car come out of thin air?
oh babay when been waiting
Nice tires, I miss my Conti Extreme Contacts.
would love to see some K swap miatas and ITB builds... Speed academy did an awesome budget series and track content but got very low view counts.
5:25 Thats right man!!!
YES DADDY POSTED!

Awesome car, it's just unfortunate that we have to deal with those choppy Michigan roads though.
Hey man, are you gonna be receiving a 2021 Mazda 3 turbo? I'm looking forward to that video!
Really beautiful looking car. One problem tho. It NEEDS tint!
Good vid. More gx460 vids please!
Pog moment
Is this a jet? Love the turbo!
Your videos are so intoxicating! I want a Miata!!!!
Is it ok/still worth it to look for an NC Miata if an ND is out of my budget?
Drove em both when shopping around. Tbh the NC felt slightly slower, but I loved the steering feel way more (which to me is more important than both of those). Go for a ride and see if you like em !
Absolutely, in some ways I actually prefer the NC2 Miatas!
Thanks guys! I just prefer the ND styling much more and you can install Apple Carplay/Android Auto
I got my ND1 w/45k miles at the onset of covid for $10k OTD... If you look hard enough and lean in on them you can get crazy deals.

Hi, do you make a video with the Chevrolet colbat ls sedan 2006 pls?
Can you please review a 6th gen camaro ss 1le
Patty Boi!
Hello Topher, can you please drive my 2018 Mazda 3 GT. I live in montreal
Can you do this on the stock motor?
Hello sir
I would be interested in what the estimated 0-60mph times are?
220 at the fly and a weight of just over 1000kg you can expect a 5sec 0-60

the position of the air vents can't be coincidental
Is the car small or are you a giant?
It's small and he is giant 😂
Hes like 6ft and the car is smaller so
I want a Miata so bad but my mom won’t let me 😢
damn, see if you can get a hold of a civic, i have a base model manual 05 civic and it’s no sports car, but it’s still fun in the twisties
If it’s about safety, tell her you’re gonna get a motorcycle instead then 😉
