    Hahaha, you guys really make this a enjoyable watch. I could actually feel the cold. Damn i hate that my self, cold tent in the mornings, hoho 😂 Well, when the dog wont play, you should try throwing a stick to Jason. See if he do fetch 😆😆 Really looking forward to the next episode. Cheers Uncle Steve ☕️

      Cheers Thomas. I completely arsed up the planning of this tour and failed to take into account shorter daylight hours and the fact how much of a bunch of pussies we were in the mornings. Everything took longer because we were cold. It took several days before we adjusted and became more efficient in and around the campsite. I’m thinking of doing a solo tour in the late Summer and I am toying with idea of doing absolutely zero planning. Something I’ve never done before. It could be interesting…or end in complete disaster😂 stay safe mate, oh and one more thing. I’m joining the T7 owners crew soon (standard version). It should be arriving in May. I not getting rid of the GS though, although my wife doesn’t know that yet !!😂😂😂.

      I'm jealous. I really need to go back and spend some quality (summer) time in France. I had no idea how good it is. Another one to add to my ever increasing bucket list. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍🏻

    Brilliant. I've been waiting for this. I've not needed a hottie while camping yet. As in a bottle not a female. After seeing yours though. I'm going to get one. Good idea. The no showers would of put me off that place tbh. I like a shower 🚿. How cold did it get at night do you know? I'm looking forward to episode 2. Look how prepared you are with that itinerary all printed out. Love that. Wookiee will be impressed when he sees this. A couple of dudes making content and memories watching other dudes doing the same. That was cool. Thanks for the mention. Love you 😘. Goodnight Jason.

    • @GreenString
      @GreenString  Рік тому

      Cheers Leigh. DO NOT use a 'hottie' in your sleeping bag. Mine leaked and I woke up to a wet sleeping bag (that I couldn't dry) and my feet were freezing. Oh how I laughed at that! I think it got at most to about minus 2, but that was more than enough to be honest. Brilliant tour... But I won't be doing a winter tour again anytime soon. As for my detailed plan and itinerary, well that went completely tits up😂 as you'll see in the next one. Stay safe bro and say hi to the gang for me👍🏻

      Hi Steven. Your not going to believe it but your exactly right. Jason told me he got it on a Black Friday deal. He loves his new tent. It's just slightly bigger than my trusty MSR tent and very well thought out. Let us know how you get on with yours over the coming months/years. We will undoubtedly end up doing a review on it next year when we get some serious use out of it.

    This is already shaping up to be a great series. I've got to say I did wonder what was in the frozen bottle... turns out it was water! I am also a big fan of avoiding motorways and tolls but accept that there are times when the alternative is just rubbish. I love the printed itinerary, I wrote extensive notes like that for my first long tour to Scotland, then realised I can't read that damn thing without my glasses on, which are packed in my bag and don't fit inside my crash helmet so I have to take it off to read the itinerary.... oh well, at least I tried to be organised!

      As you will see in the next episode I had been way to optimistic about how far we could travel. I had planned to do several routes in Spain but we end up only doing one, and that was a compromise. I didn’t factor in the shorter amount of daylight due to the time of the year and the fact everything just takes longer at the campsite when it’s freezing cold (weakness) 😁. So my many hours planning was pretty much useless. Funny you mention the reading glasses. The same thing happens to me. I now always keep an old pair in one of the small bags attached to the wind screen. I need them more and more these days, I wonder how long it will be before I cannot read my sat nav! Stay safe Neil.🫡👍🏼

    Superb stuff. Looked bloody cold. Think I may have bailed out and got a hotel, but I am an old fart……..apparently. Looking forward to this series and Jason’s faffery as well as your commentary of his every faff. 😁

      Seriously, I was going to call it a day after only 6 hours! We stopped and I realised I already had every piece of warm clothing on that I owned😂. Still things do get better, well apart from the journey home😬👍🏻

    Great content guys… I’m 68 and considering riding from Manchester to Spain solo,I’ve not motorcycled abroad for 40 years! Which is slightly intimidating any tips/ recommendations?

    • @GreenString

      Hi, we are currently back in Spain on the way to Morocco. Both France and Spain are super easy to negotiate. Everyone we have talked to has a rudimentary understanding of English and are super friendly, more so when your a solo biker. In the campsite last night a guy wondered over and gave us a couple of cool beers and walked off! You’re a veteran biker so I doubt I can offer any advice you don’t know already but I would say this, don’t over plan or over think it. Book your first campsite or hotel and after that go with the flow. Let me know how you get on.
