Push on the front (towards the front of the truck) edge of the handle. It clicks into place. Once the screw is out, it can move toward the back of the truck. It takes a bit of effort, but will come loose.
Push the whole frame that holds the handle to the right/left. This will unclick it from the door panel. Now u just need to take the handle out like in the video. Sorru for the late reply.
@@davesrvchannel4717 Not OEM, you are the idiot if you buy a cheap ass fake, they will be broken again in 2 years. My original OEM handle lasted 26 years, I bought OEM again, $40
You could have bought after market door handles for less and the plastic would be much newer. The old plastic just gets brittle. Old plastic on these Toyotas is just crap.
You skipped all the hard parts, you didn't explain that to remove the handle to you need to push in on it and move it to the right that pops it right out, instead you manhandled it out and trashed the entire door. Then you didn't show how to remove the plastic hook which is actually the hardest part. Sad video
Thanks man replacing the handles in my 97 needed this info badly
Shout out to everyone who came here because they couldn't get the old handle off lol.
Appreciate that, helped a lot I wasn’t sure if I had to tear apart my door after that screw came off, haha
You're welcome
How did you remove the base of the handle after unscrewing it? I just removed the screw and can’t get it to come off of the door

OMG THANK YOU!! Toyota wanted to charge my mom over $400 for each door!
What’s the white parts name 😅I broke mine before watching
I don't think they would sell that small part alone. Gotta buy the whole thing. It's very fragile so be careful when you move it
I have no clue what part to pry open to get the handle off
Once screws are off...push the whole handle border in and slide to to right or left. It should disengage it
Thank you sir for the video!
Noooooo!!! My handle in stuck there even after the screw is out. Same issue you had but you edited it out. What did you do?
Edit- thank you thank you

Yeah that edit is terrible 😂😂😂
Hot damn! That is EASY to fix.
Glad you enjoyed it.
twenty five dollars!?!?! dude you got ripped off... that part is $6 on eBay with shipping
They’ve went down. Now $5 with shipping. Brand new
llOOII llOOII I can buy 5 for same price. Surely they’ll last good enough. Original OEM broke, why trust another original same age
