A slow worm wraps itself in a cocoon with no cognitive thought as to why, and it emerges one of the most beautiful creatures in the natural world. Truly magnificent.
Well said!
Insects go through the most incredible changes between infancy and adulthood. The pupal stage is particularly amazing. Inside the pupa's shell is goop with DNA. That's it. The larval animal that went into that shell is no more. It dissolved. Essentially, it died. Soon, the goop reorganizes itself into something totally different, and soon after that, the adult insect emerges, looking totally unrecognizable compared to its previous form.
AtarahDerek this isnt even his final form
Aimon you're right. The final form is splattered all over someone's windshield. Haha
it doesn't dissolve entirely, an assortment of cell clusters and likely portions of the nervous system remain intact (this is because a butterfly can display knowledge that the caterpillar learned)
AtarahDerek ohhh okay like to Buttrfly

This video is a thing of beauty. A small piece of nature, in all her glory. There is so much of nature that we fail to see and when I personally see something like this, I find it truly beautiful and breathtaking. Thank you for the post.
wish more kids would develop an appreciation and/or love of nature. Maybe we wouldn't have so many psychos abusing our beloved animals and destroying nature and their natural habitat
Bad behavior is often times causes by environmental or food allergies, food additives (MSG, aspartame, etc.), exposure to lead, brain tumor, etc.
Let's clean up the environment, food, and vaccines!
MissDistarr60 God designed it that way. Its His creation and power
Whoa. Nature is truest beautiful and shouldn't be interrupted by us humans. It's so sad that their life cycle is being interrupted by us tho.
A really cute little worm becomes a beautiful butterfly.
I remember I would watch this with my brother about 7 or so years ago when we were little kids and we loved it so much with the music and the visuals. I just wish I could go back, to when life was easier. 7 years and still amazing.
I worked at a butterfly pavilion for 4 years and this process never ceased to amaze me... you go you funky little monarch
It can't get any more alien than this and yet this is a creature of our own planet!. How cool is that
There may be other habitable planets out there somewhere. But honestly what one could be as fascinating as Earth. I mean this can give someone a whole new aspect on life. Look at whats possible, thats no magic trick. I know we arw taught to believe in God and i do believe in a higher power. But bro, thats evolution at its finest. Single cell organism type of shit.
It's not alien to me because I have known this cycle happens since when I was in like kindergarten.
You know it in kindergarten, but you still don't know about this really
Why not in first place a butterfly ?
And it's like scifi, a beings literally transform in to another being .
@@bladeblade8443 Indeed. They are beyond our expectation, and always has been.
Have you looked into squids, octopi and cuttlefish? Matter of fact you should dive into the world of marine biology and you can witness TRULY alien life forms
There are no words that can express how amazing and perfect God's creativity is.
yeah god for sure xd
If by god you mean lots and lots of actions and reactions, then yeah sure... god.
Isn't it kind of sad when people actively make fun of others who are in a state of awe when observing the absolute beauty of nature?
It's such a shame that people can have such a low, pitiful state of consciousness that they have to take a shit on other's perspective just to feel better about their own.
I don't personally believe in what is by and large called "God" in this world... it just doesn't make sense to me. BUT, if believing in God helps you make sense of the world, helps you to see the beauty of life, or helps make you a better person at all or treat others better, then please please please keep believing in God, the world is a better place with you & your God in it.... THANK YOU for believing in God.
And to those who would make fun of these people...I sincerely hope that some day you learn to stop trying to compare dick sizes & grow the fuck up.
Literally nobody is impressed by your so called "superior intelligence". You are not adding one iota of positivity to the fabric of life. The Universe looks down on you in shame & pity.
You would be wise to learn from the caterpillar here:
Go into your cocoon of self-indulgent immaturity, then transform. Emerge into the adult that the Universe would prefer you to become.
@@ancientsoul5608 the world needs people like you man. Wish everyone was acceptable like that to each other.

It’s so pretty how they are born with all those legs and colors and are practically reborn with wings and different colors. It’s beautiful
I remember in Kindergarten, my teacher bought a couple of caterpillars online, as well as food and a cage. I remember every day we would check their progress, and when they started the process of metomorphosis, the entire class (including me) were amazed. Then I think it was a few weeks before school let off, they hatched and on the last day of school we released them. I will never forget that experience!
same
Yeah, we did the same thing in Kindergarten, except we didn't release it. Great experience!
My teacher sexually assaulted me
My teacher bought 2 and one of them ate the other and then later ate itself. We were in second grade

This world is so bizarre when you really think about it, here we are looking for aliens when they're all right in front of us.
We are probably aliens.
@@ryanfallon Well we are animals
To aliens, WE are the aliens.
Ayy lmao, been getting faded with aliens all my life? Shit, reality is beautiful.
@BWGgy Talk about a pot calling a kettle black and denying it's own discoloration.
it skins itself when it's pushing the shell it's making down it's body. wtf
I never thought about it that way.
Jacob Macaree
Well think of it more likethis. The caterpillar is sheddingand this is what happens under their skin. In the new shedded form, they become a chrysalis again. They shed again later on as a butterfly.
Basically they transform on the inside and burst out when the time is right
Creepy i know, but at least the adult form is pretty!
Ramieverse !
I prefer butterflies over caterpillars and the butterfly is pretty.
Insects' skin doesn't grow with them as they age like ours does; they have to grow a second layer of skin under their current one and, when they become large enough that their current skin becomes too tight, they shed it through muscular action, kinda like how buff guys can make their clothes explode off of them by flexing. While the new skin is still wet and elastic, they puff themselves up with air before it sclerotizes (hardens) to maximize the amount of growth they can achieve until they have to molt again.
I once took two moth caterpillars from a park in my town and put them in a glass container with some grass and a stick to cocoon on. One of them cocooned and it was so cool, but the other one ate the cocoo and the cocooned caterpillar inside died and I was like, "Wow what an asshole."
nice story xD
+TheUnstoppableScythe ua-cam.com/video/UPrZLZFRvcg/v-deo.html
You didnt give them any food to eat? Like leaves? No wonder one ate the other, because you starved it.
Foxio Yeah I did i gave them a shitload of leaves
"wow what an asshole" 😂😂😂
I noticed a beautiful caterpillar in my garden a few days ago, i used check up on it everyday and I was noticing that it shortened with time, and one day it became hard, and I was wondering what happened to it, at that point I googled about it and I came to know that it's going under a process called chrysalis and will eventually become a butterfly 😭🤍
I'm extremely happy and lucky to witness all these glorious things.
I'm waiting patiently for it to become a beautiful butterfly 🦋
The Monarch butterfly is amazing from birth to death. The metamorphosis itself, along with their 4 generations, where the last one makes that great migration. I’m fortunate to live where I see them often throughout the summer. Last year on my back deck, one hatched from its cocoon and flew just a short distance, sat on my knee drying its new wings. What an awesome sight that was to see such a young one so close. And eventually he flew away, now free to explore the sky.
To think this whole process is natural... Think about all the other possible life forms out there in the universe!
It simply points out that there is an awesome Creator, and yes, that there is a GOD of all things :D ;D
thats not what it points out at all
Miro Longivus Are you serious?
Miro Longivus It doesn't show that at all, if anything it shows the opposite.

Fun fact! You can tell a Monarch butterfly's sex by their wings. Males have a spot, females do not. The one in the lab setting that emerged was female and the one on the flower was male.
Wayyyy back in elementary school we did a whole lesson on Monarchs and kept them in our classroom from caterpillar to butterfly to release later on. These are fascinating little creatures.
Insects are absolutely beautiful most times, and we miss them in all their glory
I wouldn't call insects beautiful by any means but butterflies are indeed beautiful

Also if you touch their wings before drying, they cannot fly.

Thank you. I saw my first monarch caterpillar months ago, not knowing what it was! Now I know and wanted to see the full cycle.
This music brings back memories. I used this music at the end of a class project where I had to film a trip we took to Mount Rushmore for land surveying. I waited for years for that trip... Good memories man. I like the video too.
This is so amazing. A caterpillar can make grow thousands of times bigger than it's original size, try to evade bacteria or predators, and create a pupa just turn into a soup. Then, if it's lucky, it turns into a butterfly and only lives either one month or one year. And all I've accomplished in a year is eating, sleeping, and getting through school.
It’s cool how you can see some of the patterns of the butterfly on the caterpillar before it transforms
What? Caterpie evolving.

I would say the Monarch is more like Scatterbug/Spewpa/Vivillon. But the Viceroy butterfly would be like Caterpie/Metapod/Butterfree though!

How is that ?

This could be what humans are supposed to go through is we are not controlled and manipulated --- just naturally transform into what we are going to be --- from the inside out?
What ever that thing is,
IT MUST'VE EATEN WORMY!!!
lol spongebob XD
Almost every summer I raise these little guys from egg to butterfly and then release them. It's amazing, and I think more people should give it a try.
Do they need anything after the come out of the chrysalis? Food or water?
Puberty hits them hard xD
One cool thing that people don't realize is that a butterfly is not *inside* a chrysalis, the butterfly *IS* the chrysalis. That pupa is the butterfly's body! If you touch one, it'll squirm and wiggle!
As you can see in the video, it does not build the pupa, it molts just as it does when becoming a bigger caterpillar, then it gets it's body in the right shape to develop onto a butterfly.
And when it "emerges", it is simply molting again!
Another cool thing is how a moth caterpillar will make a firm cocoon out of silk like a spider and THEN it will become a pupa inside. They literally make a little sleeping bag!
Watching this while I literally have a butterfly sitting on my computer. I'd post a photo but can't lol
We've got two in a jar in our kitchen hanging in a J. Absolutely amazing!
Just beautiful, fascinating video. Thanks for sharing this
He done changed his swag 😳😳😳
The transformation is incredible! To be an ugly worm who could only walk and then transform into something beautiful that can fly! If I could be anything I wanted after I died it would definitely be a butterfly 🦋 ✨️
Caterpillars are cute too >:(
it's crazy the fact that one of the least attractive creatures turns into one of the most beautiful things to ever exist

I am 13 and in 7th grade but I live the outdoors unlike a lot of kids my age especially girls. Because it “weird” to like the outdoors and go fishing. I go fishing at my grandma’s pond but she also has a lot of milkweed. Every summer we find the caterpillar eggs and hatch beutiful butterflies. We put butterfly safe tracking stickers on them in case they are found after migration process. Only a few butterfly’s of this method have ever been found, but it just proves our theory on migration.
i remember finding caterpillars in my backyard and collecting them until they were fully grown into butterflys and let em go. fun times
WOW! So beautiful to watch and see it fly away
I remember when my science teacher has like twenty loose butterflies in his room they would make eggs and more caterpillars would be born they were all monarchs and we were all very gentle with there cocoons and wings

-What have we learned today?

"LET THE SILK CONSUME YOU"
This makes me shiver and itch 😖
"The caterpillar is a prisoner to the streets that conceived it
Its only job is to eat or consume everything around it, in order to protect itself from this mad city
While consuming its environment the caterpillar begins to notice ways to survive
One thing it noticed is how much the world shuns him, but praises the butterfly
The butterfly represents the talent, the thoughtfulness, and the beauty within the caterpillar
But having a harsh outlook on life the caterpillar sees the butterfly as weak
And figures out a way to pimp it to his own benefits
Already surrounded by this mad city
The caterpillar goes to work on the cocoon which institutionalizes him
He can no longer see past his own thoughts
He’s trapped
When trapped inside these walls certain ideas start to take roots
Such as going home, and bringing back new concepts to this mad city
The result?
Wings begin to emerge, breaking the cycle of feeling stagnant
Finally free, the butterfly sheds light on situations
That the caterpillar never considered, ending the eternal struggle
Although the butterfly and caterpillar are completely different
They are one and the same"
