Trivia: even though most of a caterpillar's body turns into a liquid mix of cells when they are in their chrysalis form, their nervous system remains intact, so a butterfly can remember its life as a caterpillar.
Yeah its mind blowing. They basically turn from a catapiller to a soup to a butterfly/moth whatever lol they did this test where they trained the catapillers to react fearfully or to dislike a certain smell by associating it with something bad (can't remember the test very well sorry) and then introduced them to it after they emerged from the cocoons and they remembered the smell and were still fearful of it . Pretty amazing.
Here's another trivia: the nervous system of an insect has no possibility of preserving memories and it would be good for you to open a book and study instead instead of trying to humanize caterpillars.
Thank you for the info, @@beabea5985. But would you mind letting people have fun? Also, it's not that it's "not possible." While there's no proof that they retain their memory, there's no proof that they DON'T retain their memory, either.
@@HollyfromtheHollow They don't have complex nervous systems. This is well studied. Unless they are using memory in a way that can't be observed, they probably have no memory. A learned aversion to noxious stimuli is not memory.

That's good one ☝
Honestly this was strange, fascinating, and in a way beautiful to watch. Nature is truly amazing.
Huh, first time i saw someone with the same avatar as me. I got mine by googling 'phoenix' when i was 12, because i thought phoenixes were the coolest thing ever.
@@irakyl oh my word this is so neat! XD I just got mine because it suited the user name.
Jean Grey ikr😱
Yep it's wonderful watching a caterpillar eat his own skin
People dream about aliens in space that are so different from human beings, but they didn't consider how alien these insects are.
I wonder if the caterpillar is like "ahhh, that feels better", when it sheds
Yeah because it's like if you wore a tight shirt
Of course! Anything that completes the natural cycle should produce endorphins in order that whatever creature involved will want to continue. Can you imagine if humans felt pain instead of pleasure during sex? Our species would end fairly quickly, I’m sure lol.
Thats why. Its made me laugh when I watched every sheds because butt... 😂
I also imagine that 😳
@@Andrea.1tree Then why does she always tell me it hurts? :c
That's the most weird, disgusting, and cool thing i've ever saw
@@kenzienufc9835 thx
Couldn't agree more^^
ye bro
As i was watching this. I yelled DISCUSTANG
SAAAMEEE 😂😂😂
It went from kinda cute, to ugly, to horrifying, to pretty, to horrifying again, then back to pretty. I have so many mixed emotions from this
It’s like puberty!
And marriage
that is life
And most importantly, in every stage it was just as it is supposed to be
It was horrifying from start to finish...
"his old skin is a healthy snack" you got meh there 💀

What
Lockdown day 8: Me watching a caterpillar turn into a moth
Lockdown day 9: Just discovered a paper plane channel that didn't upload in 4 year's now I'm making paper planes and flowing it out of my window to see if I can break a record or something.
Hope you’re doing good. Don’t go mental
Lockdown day 12: me doing the exact same thing
Lockdown down 15
This is the new normal

This is the hangout for people who are scared of caterpillars like me.
Feel welcome to cry silently with me.
mikrofiend gaming me and moths I seem to cry when I seen them 🤣🤣
only when it flies too close to me
If I saw that moth in my room...
i’m scared of butterflies, but haven’t told anyone
I used to be okay with them, but the moment i got a close up, i was done.
While i was watching this i just felt a sad feeling, not by sadness but a whole different feeling, like seeing the caterpillar get older and less energetic
This caterpillar shedding his skin is like me getting out of skinny jeans
i too eat my jeans
Mmm healthy
Garth The Not So Great hahahaha
these people knows how to comment.
damn how much jeans do you wear?
*Me:* How can something so little turn into such a fluffy football?
*Nature:* Am I a joke to you?
What???
This isn't how this format is used
That was cute😄😄
XD
Im so frickin out by that mane
Do you take constructive criticism?
Him shedding his skin trying to get tail out looks like me trying to get my legs out of my skinny jeans...I know the struggle dude!
He has an excuse, he has no choice, you have no excuse, but you have a choice
Hey! Getting out of a skinny jean is like an achievement.. and wearing another the next day is legendary🤣🤣🤣
For me Its like my legs fit but dis booty too big
Thank You Unnecessarily bitter for a joke lmao
Trying to take off skinny jeans after a long day, in a tropical region during summer... :')
@@kellyvu6870 I can sympathize too, like when trying to take off a condom, don't worry I know the struggle.
OH THE MOTH IS SO FREAKING FLUFFY😍😍😍😍
Hey phill, remember when we where caterpillars
Yeah... I almost fell off a leaf
Woah man that's harsh... me too!
Here's another trivia: the nervous system of an insect has no possibility of preserving memories and it would be good for you to open a book and study instead instead of trying to humanize caterpillars.
Thank you for the info, @@beabea5985.
But would you mind letting people have fun?
Also, it's not that it's "not possible."
While there's no proof that they retain their memory, there's no proof that they DON'T retain their memory, either.
@@HollyfromtheHollow They don't have complex nervous systems. This is well studied. Unless they are using memory in a way that can't be observed, they probably have no memory. A learned aversion to noxious stimuli is not memory.
That part when it pulls out its tail at the end and struggles reminds of when I’m taking off my leggings or jeans 😂
Lol sammmmeee

oooooooo FELT THATTTTT

Me: What are his first words gonna be?? I’m so excited!!
