Thanks for this great video. It helped me diagnose the problem with my model DW80R5061 Samsung dishwasher and fix it in less than an hour! I used a little baking soda and vinegar with manual agitation to clean out the water level sensor compartment. Hope this helps anyone who doesn't have a commercial cleaning solution.
I can't thank you enough for this video. Not the same dishwasher as mine but a Samsung none the less and a very similar system. I was stumped on this thinking I was gonna have to call in a repair man. I used a piece of copper ground wire to break loose all the gunk that wasn't coming out with just water
Thank you. I have the same machine which quite honestly does not do a good job of cleaning the dishes, since new. So, I was reluctant to fork out more cash to have a technician take a look at it. This video helped me fix the problem. Well done, appreciated.
After a week of washing up by hand I had enough and spent a few hours on this. Same error code and lots of fat clogging up whatever that part is called and the black hose on the right. It took a couple of tries Thanks so much! I wouldn't have made it without your help.
Spot on! We've had our WaterWall for 2 years now and yesterday it came up with this OC error. I stripped it down and there was the black gunk in the bottle. The detergent & rinse method didn't really budge the gunk for me so I stole some pipe cleaners from the kids craft box and gave it a little scrape out. Once the bits were flushed out, I put it all back together and ran a self clean cycle for good measure which seems to have sorted it... for now. You know it's only going to fill up with gunk again over time, so I'll be setting a reminder to give the machine an annual self-service.
Nice one Martin. Very straightforward to follow and it did the trick. Must have saved at least £200. Just remember to put the little tab back into the slot when reassemble otherwise you will have a tiny leak!
Thank you. We were plagued with OC errors. Machine cost €899 and supposed to come with 5 year warranty. We logged it as OC errors started after 3 months but conveniently after 12 months Samsung say we did not! Even getting a paid for engineer to come out was a nightmare. Your instructions were spot, two loads later on and so far so good.
Carol Harris We've got a different unrelated problem with ours now and I've been doing battle with Samsung too. Only managed to get sense out of their Facebook chat, and only after 2 months of constant chasing and not being put off by endless attempts to divert me. Bloody nightmare.
Martin Gutkowski The upright bars that hold the dinner plates have rotted and we have had 3 just break off. Never had that before on any other dishwasher. Very disappointed with the quality of this dishwasher. We bought the matching stainless steel fridge and freezer and so far they have been excellent.
Haha snap, we went with the matching washing machine. Hint: check ebay for "graded" products. These are factory rejects that come with a full warranty. Our dishwasher had two small dents in the SIDE (which you never see), and cost us £450
Youve given me hope to try one more time to fix my DW80K5050US. On the second repair attempt, i found the same sensor on mine was gummed up like a nasty batch of kombucha. I got a bunch of it out but gave up and reassembled the unit only to have it still show the error. Ill try again and hope for the best, or ill be buying a new one tonight.
So, so temperamental is this dishwasher. Cost a lot of money and more money to pay for a service call (yep, just out of warranty). The engineeer replaced the 'water reservoir'. A year later, same error code. Anyway, I followed your guide which really was most helpful. After flushing out, I got LC code which simply meant that water had got into the bottom tray. Dried that out, swore, kicked the machine, re-booted, swore again - and she has now decided to function again.
Just followed these great instructions and have my dishwasher back operational. My biggest nemesis were those clamps. Also, the water had not emptied from the dishwasher so when the black tube is pulled, the water will start flowing out. Have a bucket ready to catch it. My thumb provided the stop in the interim. If water does flow into the bottom, beware there are leak sensors there that may trigger another error if wet. Other videos available on that too! Thanks again.
Thank you very much for this excellent video. I had the exact same symptoms and following your easily explained process fixed the issue completely. Thanks again!!
Had OC error after relocating the machine, thanks to your video I at least knew the science behind the error code and what to look for, many thanks. Below the steps I did to fix it; (I think in my case the last step (leveling) fixed the issue); - Opened side panel but the part was still very clean (we do pre-rinse befor putting in the dishes) - Blew the black most left hose; could feel some water in there, easy to blow out, not clogged. - figeted around with the connector and sensor at backside of tank/resevoir part - Closed her all up and noticed the machine was not completely leveled; tilted down a bit on the left / sensor side; leveled the machine according to manual using the 3 adjustable feet; runs like a charm now
Thanks for the video. Helped fix the error code. Wanted to add that if the error comes back. Check your drain hose. Ours was clogged with grease. Cleaned it out and it has been working fine since
Thanks so much, your video solved what was exactly the issue. I got an "LC" error straight after which was done water leakage after disconnecting the pipes, once that was cleared it worked perfectly, thanks fir sharing you video!
@@everythingbreenie2848 I can’t remember if I did all the steps. Once that stuff came out it did start working…and still works today. Only recently the door seal ripped from a knife on the lower right and now it’s leaking. Once I fix that it should stop leaking. It’s always something.
And in 2023 model DW80R9950US This is the still the culprit! And the secret to jot reolacing the pump or atuator motors like wvryone else is! Grwqt video thank you! I suspected it was resitance triggered level switch. Ita just doing its job but what a pain in yhe ass. Theres also a moisture sensor under in the middle that can cause the same error code 7C
Great video, currently stuck at pushing the tabs at the bottom of the side cover. Not sure how to get these off. Do you push these in and then pull the cover up?
Just adding my thanks after tearing the drain hose out and seeing that there was nothing stuck in it and cleaning everything up I had no idea what to do. Washed it out like you said and it seems to be working. Wondered if you had any issues with the very top shelf with the pull out rubber mesh insert disintegrating and falling apart.
I have found your video while I was looking for some tips how to solve the error code 5E of our Samsung dishwasher. 5E means that the water is not pumped out, but it is pumped out. I have also disassembled the machine and took the left side off. There where a lot of dirt in the right down chamber with the two contacts. I also cleaned that part, but have not blown the black tube at the right side. After assembling everything back the machine still shows the error code 5E. Shit! I will do it again and blow the black tube, I hope it will help.
Tech put in a new water manifold and we’re still getting an OC code! D/W has been out for almost 3 months now. No on has any common sense to dig around, they just go by the book. He just called and said they’re going to replace the whole thing!
It seem that replacement of the water manifold is done almost routinely, when there is no other good reason. The machine is lousy as I have indicated below.
I have the same issue and cleaned the gunk in the sensor area. I put it back but it still is having same issue. One thing I notice if that the water didn't fill much into the sensor area... It's the water line to the sensor clogged also??
It would have been great to do the video as you were doing the repair and not after the repair was done. Talking about this hose, this hose and this hose and these screws and tabs is not easy to follow if you haven't done this type of repair before.
I'm sure it would be better if it were a properly produced instructional video. However I am just a guy with a UA-cam login who worked out how to fix his dishwasher and wanted to share it. You're welcome.
Hello sir I have a problem with my dishwasher 8550 , its flashing without displaying any error code, only a water draining strange sound from the dishwasher, can u help me with that plz?
Great video. As an engineer, it's always good to see someone sharing a good concise way of clearing the fault. 👍👍
5 years later and this vid helped me out today. Cheers from the US!

Hey, thanks for your help! My rusty well water ruined mine. I wouldn’t have known that it was the cause without your advice.

NINA COODIEN-NARIAPARA yeah, I found that out too :)
Tried this and it was easy and the best part was it worked!! Thank you! Saved me almost 300 bucks in a service call!

Followed your video and my dishwasher was fixed. I cleaned it with Vinegar.
Thank you very much
Worked for me on the Samsung we got. Thank you!
This fixed worked. THANK YOU! Also remember to affix all of the hoses and clamps to the hilt as they can come lose with these cheap clamps.

Can you tell me if the oc error also means you had water not draining?
This fixed my dishwasher. Thank you so much for this video!
Man. You are Superman!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so very much. I struggled with this dishwasher for three weeks. You are great.
this video was spot on...easy to understand and follow along, many thanx....BRAVO

Thanks so much for taking the time to post your video. So much easier to accomplish the task once you've seen it done. Thank you!
Wow man, you really helped us out, thank you so very much for your time to record and upload this video!
You sir are an absolute legend!!
After your advice, the dishwasher is running perfectly thx
Thanks for the video. Helped fix the error code. Wanted to add that if the error comes back. Check your drain hose. Ours was clogged with grease. Cleaned it out and it has been working fine since
How did you go about cleaning the drain hose? Mine has an obviously clogged.
Sir you are a lifesaver!! Thank you so much, this got my dishwasher working just like its supposed to.

Matt Ward you're welcome!
This worked for me. Thanks!
This was my issue. Used a pipe cleaner and it unplugged that area and some nasty stuff came out...now it’s working!

Beauty, thanks man.
I bought my Samsung dishwasher yesterday and has already thrown me the OC code
Me too
Do you figure out what was wrong?
that seems simple enough, just wondering if that fix did the trick or did the "OC" alarm return? thanks
Still going strong
I had the same issue fixed with this method. There were few videos talking about same thing.
Brilliant
How does the oc code reveal itself?
I have a blinking normal light. Any ideas?
Thank you.
Dang Plumber left the plug in the new garbage disposal

Make sure you popped out the knock out drain plug with a screwdriver before you go through all this.
Why?
I have a before cleaning shot of the level sensor housing you can have if it will be useful
Thanks! It worked! how did you get your's so kean?
Lucky with the gunk within I guess. It kind of came out in a big glob
I have the same issue and cleaned the gunk in the sensor area. I put it back but it still is having same issue. One thing I notice if that the water didn't fill much into the sensor area... It's the water line to the sensor clogged also??
Just an update. Water inlet valve turned out to be leaky and was not stopping to fill water. I replaced it and finally out is working normally.

I have exact model and error code.. about to try this and report back…
Could you please do a C1 error tutorial. Thank you
Sorry I'm no expert
yep... i'm definitely gonna screw this up so now i gotta call a plumber
Hello sir
I have a problem with my dishwasher 8550 , its flashing without displaying any error code, only a water draining strange sound from the dishwasher, can u help me with that plz?
Sorry, I'm not any kind of dishwasher repair person - just someone who worked out this one problem!
@@mgutkowski thnx a lot
I followed all the steps and yes the champer was very dirty and I cleaned. But still gives OC error code
Try cleaning it again? Perhaps your level sensor has actually failed.
A chap further down in the comments used pipe cleaners to scrape the sensor pins clean
I have done this but now im getting an LC error that i can't clear
You got some water in the bottom of the Dishwasher. Mop it up.
