On the holiday bug, I saw somewhere that it’s only the first three sims in your household (by their order in CAS) that will see the holiday pop up. If you have only three sims they should all have it but any more means someone won’t, super annoying

I expected more from both kits tbh. I feel like the art they gave for the goth kit was better than the actual kit items.
The castle kit is okay. I also just expected more items? Maybe actual medieval furniture, not just walls and stuff. And honestly with the castle kit, I feel a base game update of spiral stairs would have been amazing. We need more fixes to fitting in with round walls and stuff especially now that we are using them more frequently
I really like a few pieces in the goth kit, buut, some of it is a little disappointing, doesn't really feel very different. I was kinda hoping there would be a couple tattoos in it, I guess coz kits are to small.

I need more piercings and I love the goth and scene style. I want to create me. I want colorful highlights in the hair etc.
Not candy style with all the colour of the rainbow. I want black hairs with highlights, I want teased hair. Etc

theres literally a bug rn that wont let me move sims into my house these patch notes r so disappointing :(( also as a goth person those clothes kinda really are not it .. its like off hot topic clothes D: tbh i wasnt really expecting them to do super well with it but its a little worse than i expected

like everyone else im also disappointed in the goth kit.. i was hoping for romantic goth or gothic lolita stuff as well. i just feel like we already have a lot of clothes in the more punk-y style, but nothing really ornate

Idk the goth fashion kit has way more interesting items in the concept art compared to the actual kit. Out of all the DLCs to create in collaboration, the goth fashion one should have been a collab.

In the black swatch of course, I pair it with a ton of vampire accessories and realm of magic stuff. I just find it weird that the "cottagecore" pack has my favourite dress for my goth sims.

Definitely thought you voted for goth because we already have a handful of colorful clothing, but not enough basic dark clothing, let alone any “goth” clothing

we just need more alternative clothing in general-- pastel goth (or various colourful alt fashions), (what we now have, mall goth), more grunge (my fav and CLOSER to how i dress), more alternative nerdy stuff, and more...

I voted for the goth kit and I have been extremely excited for this. This is very disappointing though because it looks like something they would have made 6 years ago. I was hoping for the same quality as the grunge revival kit. I’ll still buy it because I always want more alt-leaning styles for my Sims (and I don’t use CC). Majority of this looks like stuff we already have though😢 Also, I don’t get why they only fixed the nails for Poolside Splash when the Spa Day nails are so broken, they can’t even be used🙄

It would be really cool to add a corset accessory category for the Goth Galore kit so you can have corsets layered on top of tight clothing of your choosing like tank tops or that one shirt that has the ruffles on the bust area
unfortunately that would require them to update every single shirt to work underneath the corset. we don’t even have jackets that can be layered for that reason😫

@@buchenbj You're not stupid...tbh, I was expecting the same. The older Goths have more romantic style goth fashions, maybe a cane accessory, maybe some Lolita goth or boho/witchy type goth clothes. Instead, we got Hot Topic chains and spikes teen goth.
The Goths are less Hot Topic Goth and more Victorian Gothic. Lilith Pleasant was way more Goth in Sims 2 then Cassandra Goth was tbh.

University, Get Together and Cottage Living all have a lot of mesh with this kit.

I'm really happy they were giving Romantic Garden for free, because that stuff pack fits perfectly with Medieval Estate.
Its a smart move I think, cuz now it makes me want to buy the Castle estate kit :))
Why did it take seeing this comment to realize that's why they did it. Cause yeah Romantic Garden is basically just a castle/estate/etc garden pack.
I would’ve liked the goth + futurism kits, give me all the matrix/blade runner/cyberpunk vibes. Hopefully we still get that futuristic kit one day

I will say I think the castle kit is one that could thrive with limited windows because, in my head, a medieval castle only has a few sorts of windows. I hope Kayla educates us on castle architecture 😂
Yeah, like arrow slits are all the windows that should be there. Learned that in D&D
It depends on the style of castle, age, and purpose for construction. Arrow slits would be right for exterior facing windows, but for windows that were facing a direction unlikely for an attack, they would use more decorative windows. Most castles had a room called a solar with large south facing windows for women to gather and do the spinning, sewing, and weaving. Another place to splash out on windows was in the chapel.

I would love to see a game pack that adds “tattoo artist” as a career and has a bunch of new tattoos added. I pretty much always make my sims with tattoos and I am a huge CAS player, sometimes I just sit there and make a bunch of different sims for hours.

I think the problem is that there's a huge umbrella of style which comes under 'goth'.

It's no inaccurately goth. It's just very bland, the meshes look flat in some items. The designs of the items themselves just aren't very good and there is a lot more interesting and essential items that they could've brought with this.

So what really upsets me is, that they STILL didint fix the nails from the wellnesscenter pack. These are missing since like 2 years. I am really excited about the kits, the goth fashion especially.
? are u talking about nails in general or nails from the pack specifically? cause i use the base game ones and they work fine.
@@noitsbecky.4291 Just one specific pair from wellnesscenter pack is missing. There is one shiny version and one thats kinda like a matt variation. The matt version is missing since like 2 Years. Basegame and other nails from packs are fine, just this specific pair. And those are sadly my favorite.

hey @@_Fizel_, yes that pack, i can never remember the name xD Yeah the refresh did help with some stuff. Since the release of one pack, this specific pair of nails just vanished. I looked in the AnswersHQ and it's been in there for a long time, still no fix. Someone made a temporary fix, but that person does'nt respond :/
These are gonna be some interesting packs. I hope they're worth while. I think they missed an opportunity to make the castle kit an expansion pack though, with horses we could have been knights, been a king or queen. Have heirs..

You are always so kind and positive about the packs. I love how you put a positive spin on sometimes bland packs. I will be honest that I am sooo sad it’s a castle kit. I get that’s what everyone voted for but man, do I wish it was at least a stuff pack. Huge fireplaces, different armour statues, tiles and carpets with embroidery, clothes that would also fit in. I know the sims medieval is a thing but this content has me debating if it’s even worth the money. Anyway you are again so positive so I’ll try to follow you and enjoy what we get, not what we miss

By the time a bug occurs and you start noticing it, the devs would be already deep into fixing the less recent bugs. I don't think it's that bad that the newest patch is small. The holiday bug for example has only been around for 3 weeks
Yeah and add the fact these are big bugs plus the IRL holiday season, they are probably still working on them.
I didn't even know about the holiday bug till Kayla mentioned it. I just restarted a new legacy game after For Rent dropped, plus waiting for all my mods to be updated, and I only have two sims.
As a goth simmer I’m so excited to get this new kit because I always struggle to find real goth representation. Like there’s never that good of goth makeup or goth clothes (long black flowey dresses, big boots, patchwork clothes, chokers, etc etc)

castle estate sounds more like you can use it to build both medieval style castles as well as slightly more modern country houses, mansions, etc

I love building castles, so the build kit is exciting to me. My only wish is that it was a game pack or at least a stuff pack, cause I want more furniture and gameplay to go with castles. It would have been so much fun to include stuff like 'buy a fake lord title' like those sponsored ads going around last year.

I thought the Seasons thing was just me, i really hope they fix that soon because I *just* started a large legacy household and having 4/6 household members unable to enjoy the holidays is so weird. As for the kits, I'm beyond thrilled for the castle kit!
I hate this issue! Mainly my toddlers get the holiday popup and not the adults but toddlers can’t even do holiday activities😭 It’s so annoying

@@indecisive_rose8738 yeah I agree that there’s more to the subculture of goth fashion trad goth is a subculture, however trad goth lays down a huge path in goth fashion as being one of the main types of goth fashion, and most of goth fashion being inspired on trad goth+media/niche/style/culture how ever it would be weird if they for example made a coffee kit and included only decaf coffee milk teas and coffee flavored cakes like yes it’s coffee stuff but it’s odd to call it the coffee pack and it not contain coffee(and I know coffee is in the sims this is just an example) I think all the outfits are great and are mostly unique to anything we have I just wish they had on of the foundation staples of goth fashion. Mall goth punk and romantic goth are all great goth styles but to not include traditional goth is odd. So no it’s not “fully” goth fashion it’s a mix of sub categories. And I wouldn’t expect them to do every style. I would expect trad goth tho and Still a cute kit tho.

Goth Fashion looks a bit disappointing, but I think I may buy it still. I really love gothic/alt-style so I was waiting.
Looking at the item list there are actually 7 new windows, which is way more than previous packs, so I think they listened and added a good amount.
I’m honestly getting quite mad because of the for rent patch- (or less there is of). I bought the pack and couldn’t properly play with it because when I try to select my lot as a rental the option won’t even show up and it’s honestly so frustrating. I’ve tried everything I’ve read online related to similar situations as mine but nothing worked. Also the castle kit looks wonderful but I’m a bit disappointed in the goth kit :/

I love how these kits can be intertwined with others!! Im here for the castle build mode stuff but could really think of only one or two particular worlds it would fit in. Otherwise it'll look weird having random castle in Newcrest lol (but to each their own!!)

There's already so much furniture that fits "castle" alot is in base game aswell
It's kind of a shame the castle kit is just a couple of build items, since packs like discover university, strangerville, vampires, get together and cottage living already kind of fulfill much of the aesthetic, and it'd have been cool to have some gameplay or more interactive items to really bring the whole castle experience alive... oh well!

I'M SO EXCITED! I love medieval and Victorian castles! I would like to see different castle architecture from different countries and cultures, like Norwegian, Switzerland, Irish, German, etc.
Edit: this kit has so much potential, but the EA game creators have to execute it correctly it could be a total flop

It’s just kind of the same sort of alt clothing we’ve had in highschool years and werewolves. Some of it is alright but it’s just not goth. A lot of people are calling it punk, but not even. It’s very egirl eboy for a lack of a better description.

I'm not goth but I enjoy an "alt" and edgy aesthetic and the goth kit just seems kind of... low effort. Like it's just black mesh and buckles lol. Maybe I'm in the minority with that.

THE SİMS TEAM İS THE LAZIEST TEAM EVER. Are you telling me these few item took them to make 1 year?! Any creative creator would pull these out in a WEEK! I think if anyone enter the SIMS TEAM, they never ever ever have to work hard again. Unbelieveable. 1 YEAR for that little content and these are only build or CAS they don't even have gameplay or anything! 1 YEAR!... I'm UPSET, angry and VERY disappointed.

I voted for both the Goth Kit and the Castle Kit. Now that I see what is in the Castle one, can't help but think they could have done so much more. They should have made it a Stuff pack where you not only get the windows, doors, etc and the wallpapers but also a line of clothing and hairstyles and make up. For instance in clothing they could come up with Princess and Queen fashions and Kings and added Knights Armor, etc. For me, Castles represented the days of Knights, Kings and Queens and Feasts held for the Kings and Queens, weddings of the King and Queens daughter and the whole nine yards. I would like to see that, kind of bring back the Medieval Sims but with better graphics. lol So much potential. Still, I like what they have done but maybe they are hinting at things to come and later we'll get a Medieval pack.
I think this will combine pretty nicely with the for rent pack, giving like original city architecture
im so disappointed by the goth fashion kit, its BARELY even mall goth, if anything its almost 2020 alt-kid clothes. I was so excited about goth clothes in the sims but now im just honestly kind of mad
it’d be really cool if they made a behind the scenes video highlighting how they made the pack kinda like what they did with the horse pack for these voted packs
I'm a little disappointed in the goth kit, I thought it was going to be more trad goth than mall goth/ punk.
And even going with the mall goth/ punk style; with the way they are talking about it in the blog. It seems like they didn't put any swatches, and colors are more common in those styles.
But I guess we'll take what we can get
I would love to see a cosmetics/ makeup kit or stuff pack with new hairs, nails, and lashes that they collaborate cc creators on.
