I nearly always play with occult sims, and yeah I'd say they struck gold with Moonwood Mill. I just wish it had more lots to place/build in. It's a really small world
I love Strangerville, I've recently made a new save where I'm playing through the story for the third time. My trick to making it replayable is take it slow and make very different sims. So far, I've had a shut-in programmer who needed to pull her life together, a paranoid scientist who got impregnated by aliens halfway through the aspiration, and my most recent one is a loser guy trying to rise up the military ranks and just make something of his life. Coming up with secondary goals for the sim and letting them live their lives differently makes it interesting to me. The scientist went into the mystery right off the bat because I figure as a scientist in Strangerville he'd know about it, while the military officer and programmer took some time to get going because...how would they know or even get motivated to solve the mystery? I give them the same Strangerville Mystery aspiration, move them into that same trailer lot, but I always have such a fun time doing the same overarching story because I always have something else in mind for that sim besides just the aspiration
Nice! I don't replay the story line, but all my scientist sims and alien sims live in Strangerville, and I really enjoy playing there, even having the possessed sims walk around reminds me of older Sims games.
Has anyone tested what happend if a werewolf gives a cured bite to a possessed sim? I know a vampire can become possessed by drinking plasma from the possessed.
@@sabrinaloizides-merideth9874 I'm not sure but I think it would be fun to test. Couple of occults have to deal with a possessed sim around the house lol
This is my first time nd I have a trio living together. One does the talking, another collects evidence, and another does the programming. They’re doing it together
They'd have made a fortune giving us a "Strangetown - Bella's Mystery" pack where we all complete her story, but, at some stage, they'd probably mess something us, unless they obsessively watch Game Theory's video on it and get every single detail perfect with a team of super nerds.
I actually really like dream home decorator pack because I am not a builder and someone giving you a color and a style prefesis helps a lot. I feel like I didnt know any build items before but now it changed
Love how you’re talking and it seemed as though your sim was talking to us ❤. This has become my favorite channel. I’m a preschool teacher with a three year old and husband and I use sims to unwind. Love your videos! Aaaand I left my sim on her own to cook my child some soup and she just got her 🩸 taken by the old vamp. GREAT
How about changing the vacation worlds into a style you would do? (reference to Selvadorada) Instead of only rental lots, put other things in it? Make a jungle spa location with an attached hotel?
I LOVE the occult in sims, so much so, that im debating when I get some sort of system to play sims again, i might do 3 instead of 4 because im so upset about what has happened to grim reaper babies. They use to be so cool!
I love Jungle adventure pack. Its one of my favorite game packs. Outside of just enjoying exploring. The Archeology skill is actually varied in its uses and is one of my favorite skills in the game.Outside of using it to make money when you get high enough you can use it to find elements on your own without destroying the crystal or metal so makes it easier to fill out your elements collection. I love the new dance you get and how you can learn recipes when you eat the food sold at the stall. I enjoy having my foodie sims take quick trips there now and then to learn the recipes and brush up on their dancing. I also enjoy that some of the decorative things sold at the tables you can only get by buying it there. So its nice to just browse there and purchase a unique gift to give or remember the trip. You also can sometimes spot the random stray cat and dog wandering around near the tables. So gives you a unique story to tell if you happen to befriend and adopt it. From a story tale perspective i do think it can offer more then just exploring the jungle. Tho its probably still not the best pack if you want to have the family unit sort of thing. Better for teen and adult sims and of course for single or couple sims. Unless your doing a family based off of like Dora the explorer or wild thornberrys lol.
You're the first youtuber I've seen who actually likes Spa Day !! Idk why it's so underappreciated. One thing I like to do in game is turn Newcrest into a stereotypical British small town, & Spa Day is perfect for making slightly crap Britsh nail salons lmao. I like using Modern Luxe to design a house for the sim who runs the shop too as it has the "hun" vibe I associate with British nail techs :') (none of this is meant disparagingly !)
I love Jungle Adventure because it’s self contained. The problem with packs like Strangerville is you can never start a new save with it solved without cheats and mods. And sometimes you just want a fresh save. Jungle Adventure is just sitting to the side for me to play when I want to and it’s never gonna be invasive when I don’t want to be, which I personally prefer. Like the eco lifestyle NAPs become pervasive with the pack activated even when you would rather ignore those packs features. Where as I can select and choose when I want a sim to go on a jungle adventure. And if I don’t, it’s still a cool vacay spot. I actually think it’s wonderful that I can participate in Jungle Adventure selectively for Sims that it is suited for. It’s the perfect sandbox way to do it. I feel the same way about Granite Falls and camping actually. I do wish there was more to DO, but in my general family gameplay sometimes a day or two messing around at a camping spot is perfect and/or sometimes exploring the herbilogy skill is a nice break from the standard gameplay. Or suits a specific Sim. I don’t need every pack to be used all the time, just want the skills available for the sims they match when I choose to pursue them. I don’t like specialty packs to become so invasive that I can’t play around them when they are not relevant.
I really, really want another game pack! They feel like mini expansion packs! Sometimes they're better than expansion packs (at least at first) because it gives you a very specific way to play. Sometimes I get EP paralysis because it's just so widespread and vague on what to do because there are multiple things. Game packs are always one big thing. That's it. It's simpler.
I don't have MWS or JtB so both are last for me. They look awful too so no thanks lol. Here's my list: 12 - Journey To Batuu 11 - My Wedding Stories 10 - Dream Home Decorator 9 - StrangerVille 8 - Werewolves 7 - Realm of Magic 6 - Vampires 5 - Dine Out 4 - Outdoor Retreat 3 - Jungle Adventure 2 - Spa Day 1 - Parenthood
Great ranking! I don't care about Batuu and the realm of magic stuff because I don't care about them. Else, I agree with the ranking except that I really enjoy playing as an archaeologist.
nice :) I prefer the occult packs and really enjoyed the StrangerVille pack (after accepting it sadly had nothing to do with Bella Goth!) I don't own Parenthood or any of the other family themed packs like Growing Together or toddler / kids packs even though they seem to be fan favourites, just not my cuppa 🍵
Tbh I think spa day is amazing and rank it 2 and then parenthood 1 bc they both just go into gameplay so well if they could both be one then they would be 😊
It's interesting to have a ranking so thoroughly focused on gameplay alone, given that a lot of the other UA-camrs who do them that I watch tend to rank build and buy especially pretty highly. Can't say I disagree much with your rankings on that basis.
If Strangerville had multiple storylines/outcomes, It would easily be my most favorite TS4 pack. It's nice for sims to get a set sort of purpose and then they can do daily life in-between.
I really enjoy living in Strangerville for just regular gameplay, or Aliens, but don't replay the actual storyline very often. I enjoy the game play on offer for Jungle Adventure (wish you could live there), but you are right, I don't send my sims to the Jungle for vacation very often, but if my smartie pants sims aren't really into computers or into Science I make them be archeologist, and they can earn pretty good money authenticating artifacts. And i don't use Spa day very much except, I swear all my sims have a yoga mat, whether they use it or not, LOL. It has nice cross pack compatibility especially with Snowy Escape.
my rankings: 1: jungle adventure 2: parenthood 3: spa day 4: realm of magic 5: my wedding stories 6: dream home decorator 7: werewolves 8: outdoor retreat 9: strangerville 10: vampires 11: dine out 12: journey to batuu i only use the journey to batuu one because of the hairstyle, clothes and the buy/build mode but i REALLY vibe with the jungle adventure even though i'm not the adventurous person but it's different with movies and gameplay, you can explore things around and i love the world i'm all into family gameplay so it makes sense parenthood is very high on the list after jungle adventure and i REALLY support spa day it just feels relaxed, when you are tired after working the whole day you want to relax and that's where spa day comes in handy, you can do yoga, you can get massages to relax a little, you can even steam a little in the spa lot, i just LOVE this game pack😍😍 the spellcaster are so extremely high on the list from all of the occult but that's not it, sure Glimmerbrook is beautiful but there isn't anything to do but the gameplay is great once you step in the spellcaster world, you can practice stuff, you can have a battle with someone you can make new ingredients and you can even collect things that's realm of magic related, the gameplay is great, if it wasn't for the spellcaster world i wouldn't rank it so high on the list (they do could've done more with the glimmerbrook world but the spellcaster world itself makes it up for it)
Coming from someone that has an undying devotion to the original Star Wars, I have to agree somewhat with what you said. The replay value isn't there after you've explored both dark and light sides of the storyline. However, it's the characters that I have grown up and live dearly to this day that would rank it a tad higher in Pack ranking. As for vampires, spellcasters and werewolves, mine would simply be flipped from your ranking because I favor vampires more. spellcasters are a true second because I also love the world's it came with.
I like Strangerville and Star Wars aesthetically, but I pretty much have to agree with your rankings here, with the exception that I use Spa Day much more than Dine Out.
I see a lot of simmers hate on DHD because the main gameplay feature is something you can do literally anytime you want with infinite money, but i like it because of the restrictions it gives you. I like the idea of being limited to a budget and trying to change a room based on what they want, not what you want. Sure the likes and dislikes may clash with the rest of the house design but that's all part of the fun to me. It's not my favourite game pack but it's up there
I will say I agree with most of your picks. I would, however, put Journey to Batuu higher than both Dream Home Decorator and My Wedding Stories. At least for me, I find myself using the pack often for build/buy and even some of the CAS assets. It has two of the best floors in the game (I will die on this hill, lol) and the aspiration reward trait, Prepared Voyager, is super OP. Basically it makes it so every time your sim travels to a new lot, their needs are filled up a bit. It's great for the early stages of a rags to riches. The best thing Dream Home Decorator has going for it is the damned play tent which is great for the 100 baby challenge and for MWS it's definitely the world.
Great Ranking and arguments for and against each pack. Just know that dine out seems to have had a bit of repairs lately. It seems to work pretty well now
Yes But Karla, There is a mod to help with Dine Out, I think SatchOnSims has/had it and talked about it but I don’t have the pack yet so I can’t really say if it’s smoother gameplay or if it’s different/better interactions
Honestly, I'm one of the few people that does LIKE JTB but I agree it should be on the bottom. And just to say, I've been playing Sims 1 a lot recently, and their Vacation pack had a lot more to do as well. If they could do it in Sims 1...
I do own Journey to Batuu, and I can confirm its the worst of all the packs! The gameplay is very boring, and the CAS and Build n Buy items are obviously very niche.

5: my wedding stories
6: dream home decorator
7: werewolves
8: outdoor retreat
9: strangerville
10: vampires
11: dine out
12: journey to batuu
i only use the journey to batuu one because of the hairstyle, clothes and the buy/build mode but i REALLY vibe with the jungle adventure
even though i'm not the adventurous person but it's different with movies and gameplay, you can explore things around and i love the world
i'm all into family gameplay so it makes sense parenthood is very high on the list after jungle adventure and i REALLY support spa day
it just feels relaxed, when you are tired after working the whole day you want to relax and that's where spa day comes in handy, you
can do yoga, you can get massages to relax a little, you can even steam a little in the spa lot, i just LOVE this game pack😍😍
the spellcaster are so extremely high on the list from all of the occult but that's not it, sure Glimmerbrook is beautiful but there isn't
anything to do but the gameplay is great once you step in the spellcaster world, you can practice stuff, you can have a battle with someone
you can make new ingredients and you can even collect things that's realm of magic related, the gameplay is great, if it wasn't for the
spellcaster world i wouldn't rank it so high on the list (they do could've done more with the glimmerbrook world but the spellcaster
world itself makes it up for it)

Only 3hrs?! Yesterday my Sims waited 24hrs and gave up waiting for their food lol

You had the same point about Jungle Adventure that I always had. "Why didn't they just copy World Adventures"?
I'm so glad someone doesn't put DHD on the top, it's a greedy pack, and still bugged!

I have the Wedding Stories pack and the Eco pack disabled... they are just too annoying to deal with for me
I love family play and game play so anything that has more building in it I'm not going to like that's why I don't buy them packs at all
i also dont own batuu and i own all of the game packs on both console and pc
Amazing thank you so much!
I’m surprised “Get to work” wasn’t on the list
It's an expansion pack not a mod pack
Please tell me why the background music for this video is the same hold music as my doctors? Heard enough of this music😂😂
Batuu never been and any occult pack they don't need a world..just put them n the game... love having worlds but I just don't like occult play
Ima be honest, the edgy part of me and the part of me that was a fan of Harry Potter loved Vampires and Realm of Magic
I do own Journey to Batuu, and I can confirm its the worst of all the packs! The gameplay is very boring, and the CAS and Build n Buy items are obviously very niche.
Funny thing done out is actually not buggy for me … at all
Well reasoned!
I love it

you forgot to rank mermaids...

star wars is crap
Unpopular opinion but I love the star wars pack. But heck I love star wars and it was a nice surprise to get it in the sims. I love doing the missions and meeting Kylo and Rey. Also getting your own lightsaber and droid is fun. It may not be a pack I use all of the time but it's nice to revisit. I don't think it deserved the hate it got
