Hope everyone's well and enjoys the video. It was a wet, overcast day, so filming was a bit of a challenge, but I hope you still get a sense of how beautiful the Tweed Valley is. I've just relaunched my website www.adventuresinscotland.uk/ with two tours of Edinburgh now available for 2021 - The Old Town & Royal Mile Tour and The Edinburgh Photography Tour. So, if you're planning a visit to Scotland next year I'd love to show you around all my favourite places in the city. I'm offering a 10% discount to all my much-valued public subscribers :-)
Hi Mariel, thanks so much for watching my video and I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. I wasn't sure I'd post this one as the weather and the light were so bad, but I'm glad I didn't delete it. Best wishes, David :-)
Thanks Lise, hope you're well and having a good weekend. Glad you liked this one, hope to have another up soon on one of my favourite Scottish Palaces. All the best, David :-)
Watching your videos is my zen time....and making notes for my next trip to Edinburgh & Scotland of course 🤭 The weather did not detract from the beauty of the forest or distant scenery. Still gorgeous! Thank you for your channel and the reminder we all need to take a breath. Take care 🍂🍁
Hi Inga, hope you're well and a huge thanks for all your kindness about the video and the channel. I'm glad the weather didn't spoil the video for you. Although I was disappointed it was so dreich, I think it did give some of the trail a slightly ethereal feel which was quite special. Getting to gorgeous places like this is so important for all our health and we're exceedingly lucky in Scotland to have such an incredible variety of landscapes and scenery within just a few hours drive. I think the sheer variety of geology, history and landscape is what makes Scotland so remarkable and hopefully I'll be able to show more of that next year when the vaccines are rolled out and I can travel more freely. Thanks again for all your support. It takes lots of time and money to produce them and it makes me so happy to know they're appreciated. I do wish I had more time to make them better, but maybe one day. Take care and have a great weekend. Warmest best wishes, David :-)
Another great video. After watching your video of the Colington Tunnel, we visited it when we came to Edinburgh, and we were not disappointed. The place was magical. Thanks for all your inspiration. Keep on showing me places to visit when we get the chance to come back. Thank you.
Hi Adele, that's wonderful you visited the Colinton Tunnel. It is stunningly beautiful and I'm so pleased you liked it. I hope the lights were fixed for your visit. I had to do all my filming for the video in the dark which was a bit hairy with all the cyclists whizzing through at high speed! I'm so pleased that my wee videos are inspiring you to visit. I will upload as many films as I can. The next one was filmed at one of my favourite Scottish palaces which I hope to publish within the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for all your kind words and support and have a lovely weekend. All the best, David :-)
Hi Karen, hope you're well and thanks for the kind words about the film. I deeply appreciate it. It's such a nice thing to know that you enjoyed it and found it refreshing :-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend. All the best, David
Hi Sheila, so glad you liked the video and that you've put it on your list of things to do. I hope to show more of the Border trails next year when restrictions lift. Thanks again for watching and all your kindness. Warmest best wishes, David :-)
Hi Thomas, hope you're well and I'm delighted you enjoyed it. I hope to have the next one up soon which is quite different to ths one. Take care and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David
Thoroughly enjoyed the video and the music (Emorie ?), you are absolutely right when you said about getting out to recharge, it's definitely kept my wife and I going throughout this year, and we have certainly explored our area (Falkirk) and found a few new places. I look forward to your next outing, stay safe David...🤙
Hi Martyn, it's great to hear from you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yes it's Emorie, the funny thing is that I spend hours looking for the right music and I always find myself picking one of their tunes! - but they are one of my favourites and it's nice to be able to help promote them. Glad you've had the chance to explore around your home in Falkirk. I used to know it well when I was younger and it'd be nice to go back and explore. Take care of yourself and thanks for your support. I hope to get the next video up in a couple of weeks and it should be a good one :-)
Hi Madalina, I'm so pleased you're enjoying the videos. That means a lot to me :-) Yes, when I saw the mushroom I was just astounded by the colour of it - I keep on meaning to look up what type it is. Thanks again for commenting and all your kind support, I hope to have another video up of one of my favourite Scottish Palaces very soon, which I hope you'll enjoy too. All the best, David
Have just caught up with this, David. I love woodlands because there is so much to see, such a variety. I don't know this part of Scotland very much but it seems in the dampness earthy I could smell it! So you lived up to your challenge here. 🙂
Thanks Janet, I absolutely love the Borders region and it amazes me that more people don't visit. I think the spotlight has been on the Highlands for far too long and the delights of the Scottish Borders have been a little forgotten. I'm a great woodland fan too and the sheer diversity of flora & fauna is staggering. I think there's something rather wonderful about losing yourself in a forest for a few precious hours which allows you to stop and reflect on life. Thanks again for commenting. All the best, David
Thanks David another great video. I love how you show things that everyday people would miss. I liked the little red and white mushroom? looked like Jam and cream. You have inspired me to get out more in what has been a mediocre year. Last weekend we spent time on the Tasman peninsula and I feel more grounded for it. Take Care and I look forward to your next Video.
Hi Philip, I know, what a funny old year it's been. I'm normally a very grounded person, but this year has really tested me like so many others. Not being able to do any guiding or photography has been awful and I do so miss meeting people and showing them the city, but with the vaccine's announced I feel I can plan for next year and feel optimistic. I know what you mean about the mushroom - I keep meaning to look it up and get the name. I wouldn't be surprised if it's name is Latin for 'jam & cream' lol! So glad you feel better after time on the Tasman peninsula. The next time I'm in Australia I'll definitely try and get over to Tasmania - it looks really beautiful. Have a great weekend and look after yourself. All the best, David :-)
This was heavenly, David! I so hope that things are better next year so I can travel to Scotland again and explore beautiful places like this. For now, I’m contenting myself to nature trails near home. Keep well!
Hi Stephanie, great to hear from you and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I don't normally film in such dreich conditions, but I still thought it looked beautiful. Great to hear you're exploring all the trails near to your home. It's so good for the mind and body. I've done quite a bit of that this year and it's been wonderful discovering all the beauty right on my doorstep that I never knew about. My next video is quite different and I hope to have it posted in the next couple of weeks which I hope you enjoy too. Take care and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David :-)
Thank you Lynn, nature can be a great healer and we’re very lucky in Edinburgh to be so close to some incredible forests and national parks. Thanks so much for watching. All the best, David 🙂
Hi David, yes I enjoy very much the natural way of your work. I'll pass on your details to my partner because you organise tours as well. I'll send more info by email?
@@yannaodrenn239 Hi Jean, many thanks for your kind words and for passing my details to your partner. I'd be delighted to arrange a tour. Best wishes, David
Hello Dave , I like this video for many reasons . Nature is my thing . I am on a quest to discover my Heritage . I have recently discovered my ancestors are from Colingham area . The Lumms valley to be precise . That is an old english word , so the name of the valley may have been changed . I'm not sure where Peebles is , however i think it must be close to Coldingham . My ancestors are Lumsden , have You ever heard this name ? They built 3 castles in the area , 1 being Pitcapple castle . I have searched the maps of the area , there is a small village in the area near the moors called Lumsdaine are You anywhere close to that ? I would surely like to know , and to send this information along to my son , so he can learn his heritage . Michael Lumsden Halifax , Nova Scotia Canada .
Hi Donald, thanks for getting in touch and I'm glad you liked the video. I don't live in the Borders, but I have fished Coldingham Loch a few times over the years. It's a lovely part of the world. That's very interesting that your ancestors are from the Coldingham area. I hope you manage to find out more from your research. All the best, David
