Well done gentlemen, it was nice to see the boys develop over the two years. There is nothing better than a father and sons team. Thanks for sharing, I own a 1952 M38.
Always wanted to look a 50’s M38A1 over to see what different. I’ll bet it’s not much. Kids have worked on the 68 Corvette, the M38A2, 78 Camaro, and now the 60 Chevy Apache. They enjoy it and so do I. Thanks for the comment
Your detailed video is still my most valuable reference tool for identifying individual parts (especially USMC variations) on my M38A1 restoration. Thanks for sharing this!
Great job on the rebuild and video! About to start same project and want to include grandkids in project as you did. Wow, kiddos that don't mind getting their hands dirty and can drive a standard! Impressive!

You have the last of the last and I have the first of the first. mine is dated November 1952 and was delivered to Fort Ord California where it was in service until 1994 it was surpluses out on 1996 and I've had it since 2000 and I have put countless miles on it since then. I took it for a spin today to get gas and lunch. I can't say mine is as nice as yours but i maintain it as a survivor vehicle.
Thank you for letting it see the light of day. It brings me joy to see these old cars out and running today. Its a piece of history that deserves to be admired.
Great job, I owned a 51 M38A1 that I bought out of a farm field in 1985. It still had the OD paint on it with a big white five point star centered on the hood. Maybe the Jarheads did not have that. BTW, I use the term Jarhead with great respect as my oldest grandson is one and in Viet Nam they called themselves that. dbg
The Jeep surprised me how sterile the markings were. Except for a sticker at the gas fill neck that I couldn’t find, it went back the way it was. As I recall the Marines didn’t even wear name tags on their duty uniforms until the mid 90s..

Awesome rebuild. I enjoyed your video and the music was excellent. My 58 willy's was in about the same shape. Maybe even a bit better then yours. Well done. You climbed a tall mountain with this project. Great to see the boy's enjoying the journey with you. Take care!!

No. Good thought though.. I only ran what you see in the video. I think what happened is I didn’t get the head decked when it was off. Took my chances and lost. I got it decked before I put it back on this time..
Beautiful Jeep! You did a really nice on it, I’m about half done with mine. I enjoyed seeing it run, and drive too, those were neat. Is that a brand new voltage regulator you used?

Very, very nice on all levels! (Wondering if running the engine without coolant while it was off the Jeep led to the blown head gasket?)

Beautyful job. I'm interested in the Paint color reference Code used on this jeep
It shows the can in the video. I don’t know if it’s exactly right but it was a USMC special order Jeep so probably is correct color
