If I want more depth while trolling, I hook a small sinker to the rudder that came with your crippled minnow kit.
If I can't locate that rudder -- I've got a ridiculous amount of fishing gear LOL -- the main line to leader swivel is a good place to add weight.

Thanks Cal, fishing vicariously through you as I can't go yet. I bought a small Apex a while go as we use them for salmon. I've only used it a few of times the past few years but no luck except it PO'ed a big catfish once. Any opinion on the lure?

The Apex is a great lure....Great big fish lure...nothing works all the time...Keep running it...There will be a time...Booom!

@@FHSTackle Thanks Cal. I'm kind of a nightcrawler/Dave Davis guy but I'll give it some more time. I've heard that rattles PO's the fish so I bought some and will tape it to the Apex. Will do so for salmon also but we typically roll anchovies. Thanks again for all your posts and I will give the slip bobber a shot.
