You are an excellent teacher! Most vocal coaches don't explain what's really going on they just say "make these animal noises," but being a highly goal-oriented learner, your style helps me visualize why I'm doing what I'm doing so that I can self-correct!
I have been watching your videos for about 2-3 years, and I want to thank you for helping me SO much. I don't have enough money to pay for a vocal teacher. But thanks to you, I have expanded my range, kept my voice more healthy, and have freer and sustained vibrato. In my music theatre classes, my grades went up and I was able to sing bigger songs. I still have to practice every day, and I have a long way to go.(Mixed Voice is still a struggle) However, I have the utmost gratitude for you. Without Justin, I wouldn't be where I am today :)
Thank you so much Brandon for your dedication and hard work! We are so glad to have such wonderful students as you. Justin wishes you much success on your vocal journey, and encourage you to keep singing! Stay tuned :)
Everyone here is for vocal help, while I'm just revising singing theory xD One more thing: You're the best vocal coach ever. I also love your humor Justin :) Always brings a smile on my face : )
many people damaged their voice because when they found their mix they forgot about the breath support. believe me, once you found your mix, you would try so many different things with your voice that weren't possible before. this is why so many great singer got vocal damage. always keep in mind that "with great compression comes great responsibility" Edit: why? because without breath support, you will strain your voice. I said strain, not tension. you can't sing without tension aka relaxing. singing requires muscle just like running. how come you could run without having tension in your muscle? how come you could belt in singing without having some tension to support those high notes? right?
Hello Justin I am a guitarist but I love to sing and i can tell you that i was really bad at it a month ago. Then i decided to watch you videos from the beginning and now i have started getting appreciation from people i never imagined. Thank you very much for all the knowledge you have provided us.
Did you know that Justin now has a vocal training course: voicelessonstotheworld.com/page/vocal_course If you love the videos, you will love this. -NYVC
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I love how personal these lessons feel and how you are able to add humor to the lessons to make them more enjoyable!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR VIDEOS!

love this hair cut.... and love the lessons.... I'm a vocal teacher and I studied classical voice for 8 years and I love how you approach the lesson... It's basically the same as my training but in a different perspective... great job...thank you
he is the best in the world in what he does, i have bought is full online course after watching 50 episodes on this channel and now i plan on taking his teachers course, just cant get enough of this guy!
Thank you so much for your feedback and support for Justin & VLTTW! We're looking forward to having you in the studio and studying with us! Happy Singing :)
Yes. He is the most talented person I know. You'd probably like this video with Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ua-cam.com/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/v-deo.htmle
Oh this guy Justin Stoney is dear to me n he's my num 1 online coach i always watch his vids to help me improve in my singing journey hope oneday i meet him in person n talk about music n my dreams. I'm sure he's a very positive n nice person. Wish u the best✨🙏☺️💚💙🌻✨
Oh wow. These exercises had immediate effect. I was able to sing higher but more relaxed. I knew I was doing something wrong because my throat muscles would hurt and strain when singing high prolonged notes. I am not sure I am in mix voice because I still can't go all that high (maximum to F4 right now). This still helped me a lot! Thank you!
Hi Robert! Thank you so much for your incredible support for Justin and VLTTW! We are so glad to hear of your hard work and dedication to singing. Looking forward to seeing where your vocal path takes you, happy singing!
Are you working with a coach? If not, Have you seen Justin's vocal training course: voicelessonstotheworld.com/page/vocal_course He will help you with that issue. -NYVC

Hi, Justin Stoney, I came to find this channel today to thank you. 5 years ago, I stumbled upon your tutors in this platforms when I was still learning on singing, you came to my attention because of your clear explanation and enthusiasm in teaching. Today, I have become the singer that I always wanted to be, during those 5 years, I have never stopped practicing, all thanks to you. You have been the greatest help on this journey.
Justin is such an amazing vocal coach!! Just this evening watching a few of the mix voice videos I've 'found the mix!' It's such a revelation like he says and it's really going to help me with my musical theater part! :)
It may be thory, but through theory you get an understanding of what is actually happening, and you know better how to practice and generally become good so much faster! Justin is the man.
Your intro music reminds me of the Laura Palmer theme from Twin Peaks. You're the only person I've found online that actually explains what compression is, & how to use it. This is really important as a rock singer, as now I can safely add grit & rasp to my vocals when needed :) Still working on the compression to try to sing along with songs by Dio, though... a long road ahead for that.
Great lesson. I think I've had a kind of breakthrough! Thanks Justin. The world is just a little bit less disharmonious today thanks to you and your crew!
Mixed voice has really helped me expand my range. My chest voice range usually stops at a F#4, but exploring a bit more with my mixed voice has helped me get up to a Bb5 with a warmed up mix. My mix has more of clear/piercing quality at the top; However, I haven't really perfected the kinks out on transitioning from my chest voice to mix voice so there's a bit of a gap in my range that I'd like to fill from F#4(where my chest voice ends) to (D5) where I begin to get comfortable with my mix, but this video has helped me out a bit on understanding the where abouts of my mixed voice, so THANK YOU for always giving me helpful information Justin! :)
I thought the same too, but it turns out (in my case) that there shouldnt be any sort of gap if you are in mix, its just a blend of head and chest, so basically as you keeping going higher past your chest voice with a mix youll be transitioning to head voice, and chest is deminished, So if you have a gap in theory, you are in a strong head voice that may appear to carry the strength of that of chest or mix... Well I think, Justin..? If you're there, help us out? Haha
Justin is simply amazing. I'm currently doing the level 1 vocal course and I couldn't have been any happier. I love the exercises so much that I would do them over and over until my vocals started to hurt a little. (This is entirely my own stupidity). I cannot wait to master level 1 and get the level 2 course!
We are so grateful for your hard work and dedication to VLTTW! Justin is wishing you much success and joy with your singing, keep up the amazing work! :)
I have the course, too! Have you heard Justin's range and how different he can make his voice sound. You got see this. Amazing: ua-cam.com/video/tnSSp3R9Wd8v/v-deo.htmle
Hei, please please do a video on vocal consistency. How to maintain vocal quality, what causes the inconsistencies. Im sure there are many who are struggling on this area. Thank you so muchh
I watched nearly a hundred of your videos 3 years ago: I was a senior in high school. This was one video that I kept coming back to, but like most of the videos, I had trouble implementing it and gave up after a month. I’d been singing in choirs and small groups since early on in high school and I wanted to get some training, but I didn’t stick with it. I haven’t stopped singing (I’m singing tenor in a barbershop quartet in a chapel service in a few weeks), but I haven’t done much to improve my voice. I’ve gotten better in one area, though: I can sight sing. I can look at brand new music and sing the right notes the first time through! I love barbershop tags, too! But my lack of improvement in the singing itself has been stagnant. I hope that I can learn something this time around, being a little older.
An entire year of faffing about with all these other mixed voice videos and I've found myself back here, with something that actually works, that I can actually feel working, and Justin making me laugh with his Mario impression. God, you're a gem ❤️
Been hating on the voice for too long. It's night time here and naturally I'm filled with enormous motivation to actually just shut up and practice. I hope this stays with me till the morning. I trust the process and I trust you. Wish me luck!
I've seen many of your videos that mention mixed voice, and they've really helped! I've been able to find the right amount of compression (I used to drag my chest voice a lot), and now I can hit notes like A4 and Bb4 more cleanly. Not perfectly, of course, but I can tell there's been tons of improvement. Thanks a lot!
How did you find your mix? I'm a musical theatre student who belts primarily in chest voice and after a while, my stamina decreases. I need to identify my mixed voice before my voice gets in even worse condition
Three great new ideas for me today: As I have experienced that falling in love with the compression/adduction of the vocal cords in the highe range can be dangerous if exaggerated - be careful and use support AND don't try to be loud but use the resonances AND there are different blends of mix. Thank you!
Hey Justin I don’t know if you know about it but there is a register used mostly by bass singers known as subharmonics, you can think of it as a mixed voice between chest voice and vocal fry. It allows you to go near an octave below your lowest chest note and keep 99% of the fullness. For an example check out Geoff Castellucci
😂 Thanks a lot I was thinking that mixed voice is one 😂 and I had noticed that I sometimes mixing but differently and I say maybe I am singing wrong. Well, maybe it's a question of understanding the song and feeling it to get what vocal register I use for 😌
Thanks Justin for your videos, they help a lot make things simple! Had a lot of fun with the "Mario moment" too, excellent imitation! Lololololo90 from France

I can so easily control my vocal cords because before I started my journey on voice lessons to the world I actually watched the voice breakdown series😜. Fellow viewers, pls check out those videos too, Brendan Houdak is an astounding coach as well😍
Yes but she has very powerful and trained chest voice i don't think she will have any problem . And it sound forced because she hit very high notes, notes that majority of other singers can't hit.
She is in a mix, but not perfect and still too chesty. Most, if not all singers, are in a mix some way or another, but whether it is perfect (and hence healthy) or not is another story.
Demi Lovato now sings in an even and heady mix and she has ease on upper belts, developed her head voice to support up to G#5. She even improved her vibrato, but she still raises her larynx above D5 their have been times where she has a *neutral* larynx on A5 and below but it's inconsistent. Another thing she occasionally goes nasal live
Great videos man keep it up. The only problem I have is how do I get over people thinking I'm happy when I'm sining. People think your happy when you sing, but I don't want them to think that becuase I'm not. How do I fix this
I want to know what you think about the following lyrics parts of the song "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi : "I needed somebody to HEAL Somebody TO KNOW Somebody to HAVE" We can clearly identify the words I type in capital on those parts are sung with head voice or falsetto. But I am not sure if this is an example of mixed voice. A mixed voice seems not easy to achieve for me, while I have sung those parts easily. 😉😀

God, Justin, you made my day.
He help you, but don't say Name Of Lord in vain, friend :)
God is not God's name. It is a terminology to describe the Divine but not a name. A name would be like Yahweh, Jehovah, Jesus etc.
I would like but, I can’t change that number

So if you have a gap in theory, you are in a strong head voice that may appear to carry the strength of that of chest or mix... Well I think, Justin..? If you're there, help us out? Haha

I can so easily control my vocal cords because before I started my journey on voice lessons to the world I actually watched the voice breakdown series😜. Fellow viewers, pls check out those videos too, Brendan Houdak is an astounding coach as well😍
So cool that you started with Voice Breakdown! Awesome work, Preeti! -NYVC
Demi lovato is becoming chest dominant and she forced her vocals to sound loud. I wish Demi learns her mix like back in the unbroken era.
YES THANK U
Yep.
Great video as always!! :)
Thanks Ray! Justin appreciates your support. Stay tuned for more! :)
Thank you much, merci beaucoup à toi
Thanks for watching Eric! -NYVC

Yay! Thanks Tony! So glad! -NYVC
Great videos man keep it up. The only problem I have is how do I get over people thinking I'm happy when I'm sining. People think your happy when you sing, but I don't want them to think that becuase I'm not. How do I fix this
Singing doesn't make you happy? Or are you singing a sad song? -NYVC
You amazing teacher

wow you are amazing, thanks
Thank YOU! -NYVC
I want to know what you think about the following lyrics parts of the song "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi :
"I needed somebody to HEAL
Somebody TO KNOW
Somebody to HAVE"
We can clearly identify the words I type in capital on those parts are sung with head voice or falsetto.
But I am not sure if this is an example of mixed voice. A mixed voice seems not easy to achieve for me, while I have sung those parts easily. 😉😀
