My biggest complain of all the youtube coaches was they all explain the physiology, but ne of them show how it "sounds" with low or high larynx. But this video shows it! Thank you. This is how to teach singing.
Finally a vocal coach that actually explains biology and describes techniques properly. There are so many whack vocal teachers. Thanks for existing and sharing, got a 100 videos to watch now
I'm a singer but haven't taken any formal Voice lessons, but when I saw your channel I really learned a lot and can sing even better when I was younger, thank you for this very educational voice lessons ,,God bless, and look forward to see more of your teachings!❤️🙏
I can't tell you how much you have improved my voice. I LOVE how my voice sounds when I put your lessons into practice, and how it feels to sing - relaxed, flexible, no pain. Thank you so much
Hey Justin! You're the best coach on UA-cam and such an entertaining, lovable guy.You make all this content for free, all videos are a singing course in themselves helping so many people around the world. It's saddening that don't have millions of subs, but I hope you achieve the highest point of success
This channel is certainly my new "go-to" vocal coaching on the tube. So helpful and incredibly useful insights here! You cover so many aspects of singing and all of them displayed both theoretical and practically perfect as well... Thanks !!
Thanks for all your lessons Justin, you're a fantastic teacher, the best i've ever seen (and i've read many books, followed many online courses and watched many yt videos). You make so many difficult concepts easy to understand, I wonder how you could figure it all (so few teachers did). And last but not least, the quality of the vids and your attitude are outstanding. It seems you truly found your life purpose ;)
Your videos are always such a treat... A mixed voice :) of knowledge, fun & motivation... And an excellent addition to my personal vocal coaching lessons. Thanks Justin! Hugs from summery Israel 🏖⛱
Thanks for this content, I just purchased a mic and interface for my computer. It already has helped me with my singing because I can hear myself as if I am in the audience. Also, thanks for the piano scale during the vocal exercise. That is a recent addition to your video and it is not lost on me!
Thank you so much for this! I heard from so many people that the way I was singing was wrong (I sing soprano) and that my larynx shouldn’t move, even at the very top or bottom of my register. So nice to know I was doing it right all along!
@NewYorkVocalCoaching still at it. It's been helpful. I discovered that raising the back of my tongue was my main issue. I didn't feel the small movements. But the exercise is still helpful whenever my larynx starts to drift. After I do the first half a few times I try the second half once and it works. Then I usually repeat on a higher leap or two before singing the phrase again.
Ha ha, as I am watching this I am loving the singing examples you are giving. You are so talented and fantastic teacher. Way to explain all of this in such an entertaining way.
finally find this great video! this is all I need to know about larynx positions. other videos only talk on how to change the position which doesn't answer anything
Wowww. Thank you very, very muchhh Justin 💐😍 this is an awesome video, cleared up a lot of my questions. All this time, i was doing exercises with a lot of laryngeal movements on higher n lower notes. I had no idea 💡 that lower notes can be sung with a neutral larynx & that higher notes with a neutral larynx as well 😍
Wow super helpful. I do find that when singing higher pitches I need to imagine my larynx lowering just to stay neutral otherwise I squeeze and raise it. This is a BIG problem solver - thank you thank you!!
Is it weird that I low key have a crush on this man? He has a great personality and he's an amazing teacher. Thank you so much for your videos! Please keep it up, you're amazing! Like so many people have said, some teachers just tell you what to do without actually explaining the reasoning behind it and I just can't learn like that. I need the why's to everything to see the big picture and to know what I'm doing and when. Thanks!!
I wonder if it's possible to have a larynx that's kinda stuck? I put a finger on my and it goes up when swallowing but barely goes down when yawning or singing low even and I can't seem to get it to go lower either.
Hey I just want to say that I love your videos! You make it funny and educational. You’re production and audio quality is probably the best I’ve seen! Thank you for making these!
I badly needed this. Someone just told me "Your voice is not that beautiful" because I sing in a neutral larynx all the time. I got sad and looked for videos about style so I can sing in a beautiful tone that can please other people's ears. Thank you so much! May God bless you all the time!
Oh no! Be careful who you listen to Michael! Only listen to vocal advice from people you trust. :) We believe in you! Keep singing and choose whatever style YOU want! -NYVC
Could you do a video demonstration and explanation of male head voice, chest voice and falsetto and then the mixed voice between the joins of each voice sound. Particularly interested in the mixed head and falsetto demonstration and explanation.
LOOOL after trying to sing for 3 years i've finally found out why my voice been cracking at high notes, stumbled upon a different video with a high notes exercize, they said to open the throat as you get higher, low and behold it was for larynx conditioning

Amazing tip! Move the larynx in the opposite direction to decouple pitch and larynx position. I'll be doing this often.
Yes! It's a great strategy! -NYVC

Great job finding what works for you! Sometimes it just takes finding strategies like this. -NYVC
