I have played the original, remake, reunion, and now this. Every damn time I play a game from this universe i always forget that elemental on ARMOR triggers its defense capabilities. I usually quip it with weapons and wonder why it doesn't work in my game. lol
Man, it took me WAY too long to learn the joys of elemental materia. It would have helped so much on this fight bit i jist used the trees to avoid the worst of the midgardsormr's attacks
I’m currently on hard mode and just beat this battle and it seems I did it the hard way. I haven’t come across magic focus or swift so unless I’ve missed something I’ve never heard of those materia! I need to find them
Wow, got my ass handed to me a bunch of times. Followed your advice and it was a cake walk. Don't need the genji gloves or the third elemental materia on Barrett
I thought this was going to be a helpful guide to defeating the boss for the first time on hardmode.Only to find out you had to have beaten him before on hardmode to get the genji glove from another boss fight drop for a sinister quetzalgiat talon and a slimy malboro tendril, as they only drop from an enemy in hard mode only . Found that out after trying to get it unlocked through the item transmuter, was grinding for hours for craft lv 16. AH WELL 😅.
@Optinooby On some website, for how to get these two parts im missing to crafting the genji glove. Apparently, they only drop from certain enemy in hardmode. Maybe it was lying to me lol. Though if it is true, i could just skip to the zone level of the beast in hardmode to claim it i guess.
@@TheLusionest Its true, they are found in hard mode, but it doesn't say anything there about progressing the story in hard mode. You load a chapter on hard mode and then warp to what you need
Can someone help me understand weapon ability? I can only use Prime Mode if I have umbrella Blade equipped. Why doesn't it come up when I have the Rune Blade?
@@Optinooby got it! I was able to beat it by a hair without using Prime Mode. But everything else was great! I was immune to some of its attacks. Lol thank you!
They ruined a otherwise amazing game with these dumb boss fights. Literally every boss has instakill abilities. You literally have to change materia for every fight. It's actually become a very tedious game.
@@topfranluis1 You can get it before doing any hard chapters, just load one up and warp around. Dont think you can warp around though in chapter 2 specifically so you may be right

All my characters are level 70 and I best I got was halfway. Let’s see if this guide helps
aw he comes in with a full lvl 70 party. i was hoping he'd be around MY level at 55
You can probably adapt this, quite an easy boss really, i could have improved this and done even more damage, but this was sufficient ;)
That fire attack is killing all my characters even with elemental linked with fire at my accessory 😭😭😭😭

You dont have to beat ANY chapters on hard mode to get Genji, where did you read that?

You need to keep using the ability and when maxed, you can use it on any weapon, check the menus

How do you get genji gloves for chapter 2? Don't you need to complete later chapters for that?
This is hard mode
Just load up a chapter and warp to a intel boss, the Genji Gloves doesnt require any Hard Mode story content

Without level 70 first I mean because that would be quite painful
100% the game, not the trophy list. On easy mode, go and do all side quests etc

Just wait till ruby weapon. If square is gonna do it the same way, the easiest way to beat ruby weapon is to have 1 incapacitated ally.

cant recall exactly, but you get 1 from Brutal sims
