As a vocalist, the screams are extremely precise, beautiful fry screaming technique, I can clearly understand what he's saying because I've read the lyrics, but enunciation while screaming is very challenging and he's doing it perfectly.

TOOL had Meshuggah open for them for 11 shows back in 2002 for the Lateralus tour. It was soo epic you have no idea, I drove 182miles out of the way to go see that, to witness Meshuggah Open with ELASTIC, last song off of chaosphere, only time I’ve ever seen that song live, I was a bit let down that Thordendal let his sound guy play the solo in SOULBURN, smh arghhh but then I got to see haake jam with Danny Carey on the last song of the night, the last track on Lateralus, reflection or something, I never cared for those three tracks that come after Lateralus, weird placement for songs on an epic album. Danny Carey Announced on a webcast (this is before podcasts lol) that he had been listening to an awesome band that he thought everyone should check out, I thought to myself, how rediculous would that be if he said Meshuggah, but there’s no way, mesh is way too heavy, i lost it when I heard him say Meshuggah. I was in the nose bleed section watching a bunch of jaded semi goth morons not give a shit about Meshuggah but it didn’t matter, I knew I was witnessing greatness in the presence of greatness. I still have the ticket stub, my most coveted ticket stub besides my stubs signed by Allan Holdsworth. A few years later, I saw Meshuggah at the smallest venue you can imagine for their Catch33 tour, the venue was called “(The Pound)SF” and i met them and talked to hagstrom for over an hour over endless bowls of chronic nugs and got to ask them about them opening for TOOL and I said “yea man, you guys opened with Elastic” and Hagstrom replies “what!? Why did we do that?” Lolol soo epic
