  • The Austrian Army rolled out the KAZ 03 Alpine 'Ranger' boots back in 2003 and are still using them today! Many Austrian soldiers often get these boots as 'hand me downs' and survive multiple cycles-even recently the Austrian government has allowed troops to take these home after service. Both us and our customers have been pretty fond of Austrian Army surplus offerings and these are no different!
    Check our 'About' page to find out website if you are keen on picking up a pair!

    I remember wearing those during my service! I loved the springiness of the part between the sole and boot itself. Coupled with how grippy the sole was, I was able to run and sprint surprisingly fast.
    I also remember staining the yellow inner part into more of a orange to red-ish colour with my own blood!
    Good times...

      can definitely relate on that latter part, that's why black is always a safe colour hahaha. Great to hear feedback of service personnel!

    I use the heavy field boots for hunting in the alps. Better than everything I had. My boots are over 20 years old - from my army time.

    Had the older version since my army times nearly 25 years ago - thats how long they lasted; switched tonthe newer modell now; huge improovement in comfort;

      Biggest shame (at least for the masses) is the Bundesheer are now doing a bring home policy, so little to none are likely to be surplused out now. We might have to get them direct from the manufacturer (which is'nt so bad) but a lot of people dont mind a cheaper, worn in leather boot!

      I was in the army in early 2023 and got heavy boots from 1976, with a sole from 2006. Of course I "lost" them. Great boots.

    Najlepsze buty na świecie
    Mało kto wie że między warstwami skóry jest Gore Tex !!!
    Dlatego są oddychające i można w nich pływać w wodzie
    W lecie chłodne w zimę ciepłe w wodzie suche
    W połączeniu z Kurtka M65 Gore tex Austria najlepszy zestaw
    Ale najbardziej trwały na uszkodzenia w terenie jest gore tex CEE Francja

    Super buty! W miarę tanie da się w nich chodzić cały rok, iść w wodzie aż do końca języka. Kupuje w tym roku drugą parę 🤙

    I bought my boots last year, unfortunately they came without laces, old leather, eaten soles and the toe of the boot on the right was supposed to be as hard as stone, it's soft, the year of manufacture is 2008, do you know how I can have one from 2020 like yours? very new, or how can I restore it

      surplus stock piles always varies but if you place a order with us you can always leave a note in your order requesting for boots from a certain date. Definitely pay attention to the listed grade as these can change with each batch 👍

    could you make a video on how to lace them? I've heard you cant tighten them without retying them but I honestly have no idea!

      You can see around the 1 min mark I put the boot on - you can squeeze your foot in with them half done up (I'd retighten the bottom half to be sure) and then proceed to lace up the top half.

    When I get a "new "pair, should I rehydrate the inside of the boot?

    • @armyand_Outdoors
      @armyand_Outdoors  8 місяців тому +1

      there is always a inherent bit of randomness with surplus in regards to condition, but we would always encourage maintenance with leather boots.

    • @PacoElMapache
      @PacoElMapache 8 місяців тому

      @@armyand_Outdoors so over time I should be maintaining the inside as well? Sno seal is probably a bad idea? what do you use> Mink oil maybe?

    • @armyand_Outdoors
      @armyand_Outdoors  8 місяців тому +1

      @@PacoElMapache If you are planning on walking in snow/wet stuff a lot, mink or sno-sneal would be a good idea semi regularly depending how much wear they are getting. Outside is probably easier to work on/maintain. Can wash with regular soap and a brush. Don't dry them out with sunlight or heat, when the boots are moist they take oil a lot better.
